This property is located on the south end of town with plenty of free parking. The grounds are free to walk around if you’re just looking for some photos of the house. They also have a decent playground for kids, with Wizard of Oz themed equipment. We opted to take the tour, which was guided by a high school student dressed as Dorothy. She took us inside the house, which is setup as it would have been when the movie was made. We then went to the Land of Oz building that had a yellow brick road walking you through the Wizard of Oz story, with Dorothy narrating along the way. We were impressed with the young woman’s knowledge and acting throughout the tour. Since we were the only ones on the tour, it took about 25 minutes. Overall for $12.50 a person, I’d say it’s a decent deal for those that are fans of the movie and would like a more in-depth experience.See more..
3.5Intrust Bank Arena(179 reviews) - Where is the parking???? Saturday: 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM Arenas & Stadiums
There are some great acts here but there is basically no parking. I thought that was part of the "promise" when they built this in the middle of downtown Wichita. It is part of what the peoples extra tax paid for... where is it? I don't care who the act is, in bad weather I will not go because I don't want to walk 9-10 blocks in the rain or snow. See more..

We stopped by the casino while in the Topeka area. Our money seemed to go fast at the slots, lol. We liked being able to see the resort (nice courtyard). Unfortunately, the gift shop was closed. We also stopped in at the Nation Station convenience store.See more..

3.5The Sallie House(35 reviews) - Self Guided Daytime Tour Spent More than 3 hours Mysterious Sites
I was here during the day. My son and I did not see or hear anything paranormal. It was very crowded, and someone had brought their young children here, who were running through the house making all sorts of noise, so I'm sure that didn't help. The basement is closed off, and the house is very bright during the day. Lots of windows. We did not need to turn on any lights while we were there. The tour is self guided, and there's very little information, other than a few notes stuck on the wall throughout the house. I'm glad I saw this anyway, it's been on my bucket list forever.See more..

3.5Golden Eagle Casino(27 reviews) - personal embaresment from cheap casino Saturday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Casinos
my husband and i were at the casino 01/08/09 playing hot shot game when a member of management came up to this couple, the lady was in a wheel chair and her husband had just gotten her a limonade drink from the dream catcher. now ...not sign one was posted you could not get a drink from that dispencer, which is like the others in the casino. these people were spending their money in there casino but they made the man go pay for one lousy cup of limomade. i feel it would have been much more polite to let them know they could not use that machine and just let it go. but no , they made it a issue in front of every one. i really felt for these people. we always stopped there for a meal since our semi can be parked there but now i'm not so sure i want to any more. if you decide not to allow this at least you know what is going on in your casino nrtSee more..
3.5Hartman Arena(24 reviews) - Concert : Temptations and the 4 Tops Spent More than 3 hours Concerts • Arenas & Stadiums
Only half of the audience showed up! Great for us, with seating and parking! Felt bad for the show. Temptations were great as ever , but not too much for the 4 Tops! Then about a fifty of us got other armbands, for an after show party! Never happened! The staff new nothing about it and kicked us out! It wasn’t funny!See more..

3.5KC Wine Co.(22 reviews) - Chairs by the pond Spent 1-2 hours Wineries & Vineyards
This is my second time to visit the winery. The first time was for an event in the barn and it was gorgeous. Loved it. My second visit was with friends and it was at the normal building for the winery. I was not a big fan. They should move the normal wine business to the barn. It is way more upscale and JOCO. They also do not allow you to bring your own food. Why does it matter? Other wineries around the area allow this and it just makes me not want to go back. They also don't have paved parking or side walks so don't wear nice shoes since you will be walking in the grass. The one thing I loved was sitting down by the lake on the HUGE lawn chairs. They are so big that they can fit 3 people. LOVED this!!!! We also took some music with us and hung out for about 2 hours. I think this winery has potential but they need to up their game. This could be an amazing hidden gem with little updates.See more..
3.5Sac & Fox Casino(20 reviews) - Smoke Free Saturday: 8:00 AM - 12:00 AM Spent 2-3 hours Casinos
We live in Nebraska and go every Friday to this casino or Prairie Band @ Mayetta, Ks. We have very much enjoyed this casino until Friday night(4/16/2021). The casino has been smoke free (COVID) other than assigned area until Friday night. They started allowing smoking and no masks everywhere. All the older folks were trying to dodge smokers and no masks. IT IS A SHAME THE CASINO IS WORRIED ABOUT THEIR BOTTOM LINE MORE THAN SMOKERS AND HEALTH! We have decided to go to Prairie Band 100% from now on. It is all separated by glass and no smoking only in a few places. The entire casino & hotel are spotless. When a person opens the doors, the stench of old smoke appears!See more..
3.5Mall 8 Hutchinson Theatre(19 reviews) - No inbetween Movie Theaters The movie is either entirely to loud or not loud enough. The heaters are usually dirty, and security does nothing about people on cell phones. See more..
3.5Uncle Jack's Bar & Grill(17 reviews) - Great burgers Saturday: 11:00 AM - 2:00 AM Bars & Clubs
We went to Uncle Jacks on a recommendation and really enjoyed our meal. Since they're known for their burgers, we each ordered one - but we ordered French fries, the Q fries and the homemade potato chips. I preferred the homemade chips - fresh and crispy! A great meal at a great price.See more..
3.5Hoglund Dugout(15 reviews) - If you like historical sites-worth the visit Historic Sites
Not something most people might want to take the time to go see. Basically a small rectangle hole in the ground. With all the rain, it was filled with scummy water. I think they should fix up the area to look like a homestead. When walking to it I was beginning to think there was nothing there ...until I got right to it.....cause it IS a holeSee more..

3.0Amelia Earhart Earthwork(12 reviews) - Well? There's no great view of this neat idea Points of Interest & Landmarks
It would be nice if some type of elevated observation tower was constructed. The best place to get your view is off to her right. 8( We are glad we went, but kinda disappointed at the lack of groundskeeping she receives.See more..
It is a nice, little zoo but the times have changed and we have learned more about animals and what types of environments they thrive in. There is no way that enclosure is large enough for the bear. I really hope they make some changes to some of those habitats. See more..
3.5Brewbakers(10 reviews) - Busy place Saturday: 11:00 AM - 2:00 AM Bars & Clubs Busy sports bar. Good selection of beers and they offer samples. Try before you buy Staff friendly and knowledgable about the beers See more..
3.0Kansas City Renaissance Festival(10 reviews) - A great family day together if you like to walk. Saturday: 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM Spent More than 3 hours Cultural Events
Got my entry tickets from work at $10 each. Free parking. No problem with blinds at Kings gate entry. Plenty of food concession stands. However on Saturday the turkey leg spots were all busy with 20 to 45 minute Waits. The only cold drinks you could get was beer. Everybody selling soda only had Warm Soda, nothing was iced down. If you have issues walking then think twice about going because it is Rocky and unlevel throughout the entire Kingdom. There are plenty of benches and shady areas to stop and rest. Also lots of porta potties for when Nature Calls. Overall a good experience that I would recommend for All Families to take in.See more..
This is a small but significant landmark. If your interested in all three trails going west this is a must seeSee more..
3.5B&B Theatres Dodge City Village 8(9 reviews) - O. M. Goodness Spent 1-2 hours Movie Theaters My sister and our kids, ranging in age from 6-15, found this theater FABULOUS! The most comfortable I've ever been watching a movie. The recliners were roomy and cushy & the isles were wide. The movie screen was the perfect size with a great picture quality. I would highly recommend buying your tickets online before going. The ticket buying/snack buying process was lengthy and the line moved VERY slow in house. See more..
3.5J.W. Crancer's(9 reviews) - Nice venue Spent More than 3 hours Bars & Clubs J.W. Crancer's is a Historic Event Space is located in Downtown Leavenworth, a quick 15-30 minute drive from KCI, downtown KC and Johnson County. I didn't get to tour the museum, I got there after it closed. But there is an audio board on the corner that tells the story of the first fast food chain. And the architecture is Psycho come to life. I would love to attend a Halloween Party there. The ambience of the surrounding neighborhood is Rockwellian. I'm glad I stopped by!See more..
3.5Windswept Winery(7 reviews) - Nice to visit Wineries & Vineyards This winery is stuck way back in the boonies, but once you get there you are greeted with very friendly people. The display room is nicely decorated and you can sample all the wines available. Prices are good, too. They have a store in Winfield on Main Street, too, that you can check out.See more..
3.5Lakewood Park(7 reviews) - Walk around the park Nature & Wildlife Areas • Parks

3.5Gypsum Hills Scenic Byway(6 reviews) - Scenic "byway" v. scenic "drive" Points of Interest & Landmarks • Scenic Drives
The scenic "byway" is a stretch of highway 160, and it's got a lot of really pretty views; the scenic "drive" is a half-circle south of 160, part of which isn't paved but had been graded when we drove it two days ago. You turn onto the "drive" a few miles west of Medicine Lodge, go south then west and then back north and end up 10 or so miles west of where you started. Of course, you could also start at the other end. :-) My wife and I both thought the views from the "byway" were even better than those from the "drive." The main difference is that you're just passing through, but on the "drive" you can get a little closer to the hills. There's not much of a shoulder on the road, though, and most of the side roads are private, so you're still seeing it from a distance. The drive up to Lake City, west to Sun City, and south back to 160 is also pretty.See more..
We rented the Cedar Crest cabin for two nights over the weekend. The cabin was a nice size for our family of six, and there was a lot of space to cook and sit around the fire outside. We kept saying how peaceful it was there. We rarely have days with no wind in KS. We enjoyed seeing wildlife, like a bald eagle, deer, and several species of birds. I gave the park four starts because I felt the cabin should have been a bit cleaner. It’s early in the season, but there aren’t a lot of signs that the park has been maintained. They have obviously had a ton of rain and probably have had their hands full managing that. The lake elevation was very high. Our family had a wonderful time exploring and even swimming where we could find a good spot to get in the water. We would love to come back when the water level is more normal.See more..
3.5AMC Classic 8 Theater(6 reviews) - the seats Spent 1-2 hours Movie Theaters the seat are to small and to close to gather love the movie but I am a big person the first I try to sit in to small and the second I could sit but when I try to get up I had to turn sideway and side on my but crawl on my knees to hold on two seat to get up I would go back if I could bring a chairSee more..
3.5Smiley's Golf Complex(6 reviews) - Great mini golf in KS Spent 1-2 hours Golf Courses Friendly check in at counter. Challenging course is challenging! They were getting new grass/greens in May and that's probably the only thing that could improve this place. Enjoy!See more..
3.5Eight Mile Corner(6 reviews) - Tri-state point just 8 miles from Elkhart Spent < 1 hour Points of Interest & Landmarks
Even though there are 35 tri-state points on dry land in the United States, this one is reasonably easy to access if you are driving Highway 56 through Elkhart, Kansas. It is a short senic drive on a gravel road along the south edge of the Cimarron National Grassland (from Elkhart head west on County Road A aka State Line Road for 8 miles). A marker on the gravel road indicates the survey point, there is a place to pull off the road where a windmill also marks Kansas, Oklahoma, and Colorado. If nothing else 8 mile corner is a chance to stand in 3 states at one time.See more..
3.5Fort Blair(5 reviews) - Park rather then historical site Saturday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Historic Sites • Battlefields • Military Bases & Facilities
This was a lovely park setting. We understood it to be a historical site but there wasn’t really much to see. There was a log cabin and another larger building but they weren’t open - not sure if they normal are but it didn’t seem to be. We went during COVID-19 so unsure. The grounds where very park like. There was an amphitheater and below that trails and picnic tables - we took a picnic lunch and walked the trails. We enjoyed the great outdoors and social distancing due to Covid. It was a lovely fall day so I say it was worth the stop!See more..
3.5Crawford County Historical Museum(5 reviews) - Secent Local Historical Museum Saturday: 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM Spent 2-3 hours History Museums
Typical county historical museum, but it has more special events than most. We attended a free event with cowboy poetry and music around a campfire.See more..
3.5Tony's Pizza Event Center(5 reviews) - Great show venue Saturday: Spent More than 3 hours Convention Centers
Been here for shows for years. Like you can park and walk in. This place is good for so many types of events. Will be back. See more..
A nice little stop if you are in town and have not been there. There are many interesting exibits to look at and the tour is pretty good.See more..
3.5Chase Lake Falls(4 reviews) - I was impressed! Spent 1-2 hours Waterfalls
If you're driving the flint hills scenic byway this is definitely a stop that's worth making. The lake is approximately 2 miles outside of Cottonwood Falls. Just a short walk across the dam (east side of lake) and you'll see the trail to the falls. Decently well traveled trails will take you to the various falls. Honestly pretty impressed as you don't typically see this in Kansas! I'm guessing the combined height of the various falls is around 30 to 40 feet. Something worth considering.... I took these pictures in April after a good rain the day before. I don't know if these falls would completely dry up in the summer but I would suspect that they could. See more..
3.0Emmett Kelly Museum(4 reviews) - Emmett Kelly Museum, Sedan, Kansas Speciality Museums

Providing family oriented and child friendly, educational atmosphere with many exhibits and collections to view and fun Circus links to explore. I can't fault the employees of this bar for what the place is, a dark music venue. My complaint was that we were supposedly at a Christian concert and my ears left with a huge dose of cussing. I will not be back with my kids or by myself for that matter. (I will say that my teenagers were just there for a concert and did not see the same things their mother did...they thought it was great.)See more..
3.0Jayhawk Marina(3 reviews) - OK for what it is Boat Rentals
The Jayhawk Marina is simply a shop/gas station on the lake. They have your usual over priced snacks, gas, and lake sundries. They also have slip rental for long term rental/ storage. There are three boat ramps near the marina, as well as courtsey slips to park while you move your truck. Hillsdale is a great lake for fishing or just hanging out. It was created by flooding the old town that was there, and all the trees were left for fish habitats. It makes this lake pretty crummy for a ton of fun skiing, tubing, or jet sking, as there are a ton of obsticles.See more..
3.0Lovewell State Park(3 reviews) - Great place to get outdoors State Parks • Bodies of Water
I was in the area for bird watching. The lake is surrounded by some great habitat. There were thousands of geese using the lake. I saw a couple of dozen Bald Eagles. In the past I have even seen Whooping Cranes here. The large areas of habitat surrounding the lake provide opportunity to see many species of birds. The many square miles of surrounding privately owned native grasslands provide the opportunity to see Greater Prairie Chickens.See more..
3.0Azura Amphitheater(3 reviews) - Great show, crappy exit strategy Concerts
It was my first time to attend a concert here. It seemed that entry was opened a bit late. Concert was delayed due to people not being able to get in. Parking attendants were great going in but it was absolute chaos leaving.See more..
