Looking for a hike with substanse? This is the one for you. I'm a hobby hiker, in pretty good shape which this trail requires, unless you spend a long time to finish it. Personally I like hikes with beautiful landscapes, have some distance and quite challaging when it comes to ascending/descending trail. This trail holds is exactly all of that. 13.9 km, 465 highmeters and really beautiful variations in the landscape. This trail require hiking shoes, dosn't require climbing gear, and I will not recommend this trail to granny and people on converse shoes. See more..
  2. 5.0 Nibelungenstrasse (1 review)
    - A modern representation of an old saga in a beautiful wood

    Nibelungenstrasse image
Follow the NIbelungen-Siegfriedstrasse and see the expressive sculptures made by Jens Nettlich telling important parts of the old saga. The surrounding Odenwald is worth a journey on this trail of at least a few days, although by car you could rush along the sculptures and see them all in one day. Where to find the locations of the sculputures. There is good website with all the information on the Strasse. Just type in Nibelungenstrasse and you will get there. The exact locations is not always completely clear. You might sometimes have to walk around a bit or ask a local. Take a leaflet with you with the pictures and people will help you point the exact locations Also enjoy the many villages and remains of the Middle Ages that are to be found and often overlooked in Germany. The Odenwald stretches over Baden Wurttemberg, Hesse and Bavaria south of Frankfurt am Main. A magnificent holiday target! See more..
