-Absolutely would recommend. What a Gem!
Nature & Wildlife Areas
This was absolutely fantastic! We went with adults and children (aged 7 and 10) and it was amazing for all. You can get close up with the animals and feed them. The food was cheap to buy too to fed the animals. The animals are well cared for and friendly. Animals do roam around near your car so there’s a potential for damage but we didn’t see any of this. We had food onsite in the small cafe which was nice. There’s a huge play area for children of all different ages which was amazing. This was a highlight of our trip to Germany. See more..

-Nice place for a daily trip
Spent 2-3 hours Nature & Wildlife Areas
A nice place to spend 2-3 hours with having a lunch in the near by restaurant. You can feed adorable goats and see wolfs and birds. The castle is in a very good state, especially the tour, accessible for climbing on top of it. See more..

- 4.5 Tiergarten Worms (90 reviews)
-A welcoming zoo where you can come surprisingly close to the animals
Sunday: 9:00 AM - 7:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Nature & Wildlife Areas
Tiergarten Worms is very welcoming; it is situated in a quiet, rural part of Worms. Parking is ample and free and ticket prices are reasonable with discount for persons past retirement age. The Zoo is laid out spaciously; you can have a nice stroll along the different areas. Furthermore, the catering offered in restaurant Blume is priced moderately; no monopolistic rip-off here. What struck me as a positive point in the Worms Zoo is how close you can come sometimes to the animals. I added some pictures to this review for an impression. Several thematic areas can be visited in this Zoo, e.g an aviary with an Australian theme and a area laid out as an European grass land where wolves, deer,(separated of course), wild boars and further grassland animals can be admired. Worms Zoo is the kind of welcoming attraction, where the loving care of the staff for the animals can be felt. A nice half day out; to be recommended. See more..

-Great bird show!
Nature & Wildlife Areas
Paid 23 euro for family of 5 and spent around 3 hours here. Very small and a bit run down , but kids got to feed the usual animals so were very happy (goats/donkey/pigs). the 1 hour bird show was amazing- they fly the massive birds close to your head and you get to pet the owls. Pleasant experience. See more..

-Travel with the family
Nature & Wildlife Areas
This place was right next to the hotel, it is a nature preserve with all kinds of local animal and some not so local (llamas). This is a beautiful place to walk around and it is free. There is a huge forest that is connected to it and walking through the forest was refreshing and beautiful. There are a lot of signs for each animal explaining everything about them. We had a great time and is a great place to spend the afternoon enjoying nature. See more..

-An Ostrich Farm...
Nature & Wildlife Areas
We booked a ~2 hr "train" ride tour, which went to various parts of the farm. It included a tour of their egg incubator, to hatchlings, to all the way up to breeding ostriches, which by the way was very interesting to learn about and see.. The tour includes lots of information about the birds. It is a great activity to bring young children, as they can pet and hold a small hatchling. Our tour was in German language, and not sure if you can get one in English or not. Afterwards, there is a gift shop for anything from feather dusters to egg shells to fresh/canned meat. Also a restaurant, but we didn't stop there. Really a nicely and simply done attraction. See more..

-Really nice day out with the kids
Spent 2-3 hours Nature & Wildlife Areas • Parks
Embeddedin the mountains and forests of the Hunsruck lies the Wildpark at the foot of the Wildenburg. It provides a unique view of various fallow deer species Dybowskiwild, mouflons and wild boar and, not to forget, the deer. The animals are kept in large, natural surroundings and most of them can be fed by visitors (animal food available at cashier). See more..

-Good train information at hotels available.
Spent 2-3 hours Nature & Wildlife Areas
The diesel train through the Ahr valley gives a great view of the landscape with the vineyards against the south facing hills. There are many stations along the route and you can hop-on-hop-off . Not all the small villages however have good restaurants or cafe's, and on some days several are closed (monday or tuesday) for obligatory holiday. In some periods the train only goes one time per hour, so some planning is wise. See more..

- 4.5 Namedyer Werth (4 reviews)
-Since 1985 an important bird sanctuary
Nature & Wildlife Areas
Best known from its geyser. Since 1857 is former island "Namedyer Werth" a peninsula on the Middle Rhine. Andernach township Namedy upstream is at present about 21 hectare surface, at present a headland on the Rhine. The earliest mention of the island was in 859 on a meeting of Kings Karl II des Kahlen (Charles the Bald), Ludwig der Deutsche (Louis the German) and Lothar II (Lothair II, Lorraine) on the then still nameless island. Earliest Nomenclature in 1529 as "Weideplatz auf der Rheininsel" resulted in the name "Grasswert". Protected area since 1985. The shallow shore of the Rhine-arm was an important source for fish spawning. The extreme winter 1783-1784 and related catastrophic ice dislocation and massive floods of February 27, 1784 (Cologne level 13.55 m) the forest was destroyed by ice floes, during the next flood the roots were washed away. See more..

-Mystische genialer Wanderweg
Spent 2-3 hours Nature & Wildlife Areas
See more..

Spent 1-2 hours Nature & Wildlife Areas
See more..
- 4.0 Wanderung Durch Den Hochwald (1 review)
See more..
