    Get here early! @eklecticafro and I arrived around 1000 and didn’t have to wait long. We had time to take pictures and enjoy the view. On the way back we walked across the bridge (you can take a 5.7 km hike down and up a mountain if you want to). The way back we had to wait. By the time we crossed back (around 1230) the line was so long we could not see the end of it. Truly the early bird gets the best views. They alternate traffic so be prepared to wait in line if you arrive late. See more..

    An arch bridge with truss arches, built between 1882 and 1885. To aid with financing the construction, fees were introduced for anything crossing and until 1912. It has seen a number of changes including an expansion program in 1931 / 1934, being blown up in the war and rebuilt again from 1948 / 1950, along with further renovating works in the 1990's. When we walked over, we visited a nice restaurant for drinks, just over one side on the bank area taking in the views. See more..

    Built in 1913-1915 and destroyed in March 1945 by the Wehrmacht, this is the start of the UNESCO world heritage site here on the Rhine. This is a sobering reminder of the war, a brief walk from where they dock river cruise ships or from the city. Yes, it has a fence around it, but the toppled bricks are a strong reminder of the fighting going on back then. See more..

    Der Hochmoselübergang ist schon eine praktische Verkehrsverbindung, deren Nutzungserfolg erst nach Corona genau betrachtet werden kann. Von Bernkastel-Kues aus fällt dieses Bauwerk schon auf, was sich dann negativ erweitert, wenn man sich in Zeltingen-Rachtig aufhält. Egal wo man sich in der Stadt aufhält, fällt das Bauwerk immer in den Blick. See more..

    This bridge crossing valley Eistal close to the lake Eiswoog is the longest railway bridge in Palatinate and it is not in use anymore. It looks magnificent. I am not sure if it is worth it to separate visit, unless you are a railway fun, but it is possible to combine with visit to the lake and nice restaurant directly on its shore. See more..

    Eine sehr sehenswerte alte Brücke über das Flüsschen Lauter. Es gibt genügend Sitzgelegenheiten. Man kann hier abschalten und den Enten zusehen. Direkt daneben ist die Roseninsel.

    Wenn autofreies Lautertal ist erhole ich mich hier bevor ich den Heimweg mit dem Rad antrete . Bei der Hitze 2018 war die kühlere Luft unten am Fluss sehr angenehm und eine willkommene Abwechslung von der Hitze des Asphalts.

    Die Brücke überspannt auf 5 Bögen in über 40 m Länge den Fluss , was beeindruckend ist bei dem kleinen Gewässer. Da sieht man , dass in der Vergangenheit schon oft Überschwemmungen das Lautertal heimsuchten. Die Brücke besteht vor allem aus kleinem gelbem Bruchstein, was sie zusätzlich alt aussehen lässt. Schon Mitte 17 . Jahrhundert stand sie da auf der Stadtansicht von Matthäus Merian und verbindet bis heute Lauterecken und das linkslauterische überlauterecken genannt.     See more..
