Easy Hike/beautiful place

This 20-foot-wide natural granite abyss is probably one of the largest "potholes" you've ever seen.

No doubt you have seen bowls carved out by mountain streams in granite before, however this spot is truly unique and so enjoyable. Easy to access. I was there around 7:30 AM and had it all to myself to enjoy, would recommend. Photos really cannot do it justice.

    Crowded during Covid?
Pretty crowded. Parking tight! Most wearing masks but minority not! Very annoying when most do the right thing and others flagrantly ignore our safety! Needless to say it was the quickest walk to the basin and then back to the car! Water level lower than usual probably due to lack of rain and heat up here this summer. It is free and outhouses are open. ( I didn’t use but saw people going in and out.)
