Highly recommend

We went 30 minutes out of our way to view the falls and it was definitely worth it. Short hike along the rushing water to the top of the falls. You then descend to the bottom of the falls by way of a 120 step well designed rock staircase with a railing. At the bottom you are right by the falls. Beautiful setting!

Glen Ellis Falls best free site to visit
Visited the falls on Oct. 31, 2021…. WOW , felt like I was at Niagara Falls at the bottom. So much water and mist with wind, almost got soaked.. but what a view from top or bottom. Fresh clean air can’t be beat. The posted pictures don’t show the rush of water that I saw. Anybody living in New England could take a week end trip and do some site seeing, it’s free.

Beautiful Waterfall on Short Trail
I stopped at Glen Ellis Falls for a short hike during my day in the White Mountains. Parking is limited at this location but I was able to find a spot. Unless there is a long line, it seems to cycle through pretty fast. The waterfall is totally worth the visit! Even during the dry spell that was ongoing during my visit, the waterfall was flowing strong and was beautiful. The gorge was a welcome respite from the summer heat thanks to the cool waters. The downside is the trail is made up of many stairs. You start at the top of the falls and climb down to the bottom. The trail back is a moderately strenuous stair climb back up. The climb is totally worth it, but I recommend not climbing down unless you’re prepared to climb 75-100 steps back up.
