- 4.5 Blue Dome District (63 reviews)
-Bucket List Fun
Spent 1-2 hours Neighborhoods
I loved the three band benefit concert held December 19, 2020 for CASA. It was three bands: Severmind, DreK and All Is Fair. I truely enjoyed the music, was so happy to bring an unwrapped child's toy to supplement my ticket purchase. The toyes were donated to CASA. Plenty of space to socail distance at tables, bartender was great, and security was awesome!!! Haven't been to a live concert in many many years...enjoyed it. See more..
- 4.5 Beavers Bend Brewery (61 reviews)
-Beavers Bend Brewery
Breweries
After a full day of fun you might just want to sit, sip and enjoy the views. Broken Bow provides a variety of breweries or wineries. We chose to go to Beavers Bend Brewery. We found this fantastic outdoor seating brewery to be the perfect place for us. Along with their crafted brew they offer Corn Hole games for a bit of competition among friends! And did I say this place is pet friendly too?! See more..
- 4.5 Boomer Lake Park (61 reviews)
-AMAZING ASSET! Yet another FREE Stillwater activity!
Spent 2-3 hours Biking Trails • Parks • Jogging Paths & Tracks
I often visit family in Stillwater and have found great solace at Boomer Lake Park. Whether you're a jogger or walker, you will find beautiful sites on the nearly 3-mile perimeter loop. People-watching breaks the rhythm on those hard runs or walks, and the gulls will cry out if you step too close to one of the picturesque points. Benches, pavilions, and playgrounds abound; there's even a kids' water park for those hot Oklahoma days. DO NOT MISS!!! See more..

- 4.5 Cherokee Strip Regional Heritage Center (60 reviews)
-One room schoolhouse is great
History Museums
We did this as a field trip with our homeschool co-op. The one room schoolhouse was in the morning & the kids really enjoyed writing with ink & nib pens, reading from a McGuffy reader & writing on slates. They had a quick tour of the museum, saw the land run office & store, and a “mansion” (upper class house but smaller than today’s mansions for sure!). I want to come back with my teenagers when the study OK History. The guides and movie talked frankly about the Trail of Tears and Indian tribes that make up an important part of OK history as well as the land run, settlement on the prairie, and wheat & oil. Dr. Mathearn was fantastic at teaching the kids- made it interesting & still was in character. Highly recommend for schools & families (though it might not be as interesting if you didn’t do the whole one-room schoolhouse experience). See more..
- 4.5 Fort Washita Historic Site (59 reviews)
-Great history of the Civil War era.
Wednesday: 9:00 AM - 4:30 PM Historic Sites
Set in the rolling hills 20 miles north of the Texas border, this was a great experience for my teen age son and I. The staff were super nice and knowledgeable. It is self guided, but staff will provide great information if you want to go that route. The structures are well labeled and a short walk will allow you to see it all. There is a Confederate cemetery on site, log cabins, water well. The historic east west wagon trail runs right through the fort and it is still visible. It was part of the California Gold Rush route early settlers used. It has all paved roads and well maintained grounds. See more..
- 4.5 Guthrie Scottish Rite (57 reviews)
-Amazing Scottish Rite Temple
Architectural Buildings • Religious Sites
While I've known about this Scottish Rite Temple for many years, this was my first opportunity to visit this building. It is truly an amazing structure. Approximately 400,000 square feet and nearly a century old, the interior design and furnishings are beyond belief. The organ, with over 3000 pipes, is as old as the building and tuned twice a year. This is one stop that should be on everyone's bucket list. See more..
- 4.5 Seaba Station Motorcycle Museum (55 reviews)
-Nice Little Stop on Route 66
Wednesday: Spent 1-2 hours Speciality Museums
This place really captures the essence of what it's about to travel on Route 66. A quick stop at roadside museum or attraction to gain a little knowledge and get a good photo op is at the heart of the Route 66 travel experience. The Seaba Station Motorcycle Museum fits this billing perfectly. Entire visit took 45 minutes. The museum is located in a cool old service station. Lots of unique motorcycles especially if you are into motocross. Really enjoyed this stop on our trip. See more..

It was $5 a person. They provide the balls and the clubs. You do have to ring the bell for service since the workers are everywhere at once, but they come running right away. See more..
- 4.5 The Nut House (52 reviews)
-Sweets Galore and More
Wednesday: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM Spent < 1 hour Speciality & Gift Shops • Historic Sites

We operate out of a log cabin, built with pecan wood, which was originally constructed to house the pecan cracking operation. - 4.5 Black Mesa Summit Trail (52 reviews)
-Always wanted to hike Oklahoma's highest point
Hiking Trails
Meredith Aug 2020 gives a thorough review, but I would add March is a good time of year to go if weather cooperates. No snakes! My husband and I are 60 and moderately active. I found the incline to be taxing, but doable. Views are reminiscent of Santa Fe area. We started at 9 and it took us 3.5 hours to complete hike. We only met 4 other hikers while on the trail; all women hiking solo. See more..

- 4.5 Osage Tribal Museum, Library and Archives (51 reviews)
-Small but rewarding, and see the campus
Libraries • History Museums
The museum is mostly in one main room and then a room behind it. Be sure to go into the latter because the collection of drums there is amazing. We especially liked the ones that have traditional tribal art on one side and modern art on the other. The whole Osage Nation Campus that it's on is worth looking around at, including the modern law buildings and the veterans memorial with the feather sculpture. See more..

- 4.5 Oklahoma Territorial Museum and Carnegie Library, (49 reviews)
-Excellent place!
Wednesday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours History Museums
I was looking for historical books on Guthrie and was told to go to the museum. Not only was it east to find, easy to park and beautiful to boot, the woman working there on 6/25/22 was very helpful. We talked for awhile as I was looking for a book. She ended up giving me a second book about Elmer McCuardy for free as "you might need a second book for your long trip." The book is fabulous by the way! See more..
- 4.5 Farm and Ranch Museum (49 reviews)
-Worth a look
Speciality Museums
The Farm and Ranch Museum while not as interesting in my opinion as nearby museum still deserves your time, worth a look around, most of it outdoors. See more..
- 4.5 Vojai's Winery (46 reviews)
-Great wine.
Wednesday: Wineries & Vineyards
We visited this location after a disappointing trip to a winery across the street... “The three stooges,” or something like that. This winery, tucked back from the road and with rustic aesthetic, offered a great sampling. The sommelier was fun and energetic. It was the perfect ending to a vacation away with my love. Thirteen sampling’s later, ending with a slushy of mixed wines, we agree it was the best decision to come here! We’re also leaving with a mixed case of our new favorites! See more..
- 4.5 Oklahoma Frontier Drugstore Museum (45 reviews)

Wednesday: 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Speciality Museums • Science Museums

-Very Nice Old Home

-Super fun and interesting
Wednesday: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Speciality Museums
I love an interactive museum and this one fills the bill with excellent exhibits, lots of fun historic artifacts and great photo opportunities next to cool gas pumps. We spent a little over an hour here and learned a lot about the interesting history of Conoco and its many great employees over the years. It’s an amazing business we knew little about before visiting. Be sure to catch the introductory video before walking through the museum. The young lady at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. We highly recommend this museum when in the area. See more..
- 4.5 Talimena State Park (44 reviews)
-Perfect gateway to Ouachita National Forest
Spent More than 3 hours State Parks • Nature & Wildlife Areas
Talimena State Park is the perfect gateway to the Ouachita National Forest. The park is a small park focused on providing camping and RV sites next to the National Forest. It serves this purpose to a T. We stayed at campsite #1. While the rent pad itself was not of a sufficient size to accommodate our tent, this site was large enough to offer a flat space to accommodate our six-person tent. Note: many of the tent sites would’ve been too small for our tent. So, if you have a large tent, be sure you have a tent site that will fit your tent. The campground has clean restrooms and showers. The campground is located at the west end of the Ouachita Trail. In fact, campsite #1 is at the trailhead. This was a great access point to a great trail. See more..

- 4.5 The Stone Lion Inn Murder Mysteries and Dinner (40 reviews)
-Stone Lion Inn
Theatre & Performances
. The haunted mansion is a must if you are looking to shed your inhibitions and go with the murder mystery. The food is delicious and the mystery is fun. I suggest you bring a date. The ghost made itself known and we had a visitor in the form of af cat that slept with us for awhile. We had to leave early and so missed breakfast but I am sure it was a delight as well. I think it is a lot more fun if you do not get up a party because the interaction is funnier with total strangers. Just take a date and stay in character. See more..
- 4.5 BigFoot Speedway (40 reviews)
-My two sons had a great time
Spent More than 3 hours Game & Entertainment Centers
The people that own the place are really nice people .my son and I was in Oklahoma for 3 days on Wednesday we called around and most of the gocarts race tracks was closed until later in the week. Bigfoot owner was there working to get things ready for the weekend. The lady that answered the phone told my son that they was there and they was welcome to come in and race. My sons had a great time driving the gocarts . The place is really nice and the car are really nice and fast ( There's a person monitoring the races that can slow the cars down remotely if needed for safety I was impressed with all the safety and rules and that they could control the cars speeds to keep everyone safe ) every thing is really well maintained. The pice was very fair. We will visit the Bigfoot race track the next time we are back in Oklahoma. I would to thank the owners and the staff for letting my son's have a great time making a wonderful memory on our trip to Oklahoma. See more..
- 4.5 Afton Station Packard Museum (39 reviews)
-Closed permanently
History Museums
The Packard Museum is permanently closed. And new owners are not open to public. Was once a car place but no more. And new owners would appreciate people stop walking in. There are signs that say no trespassing keep out for a reason. So on your adventure on route 66 this is no longer a stop. But believe me that are doing good things just won't be open to the public. See more..
- 4.5 The Museum of the Red River (39 reviews)
-My Elementary aged boys loved it! A must do to learn about the indigenous in this region and beyond!
Wednesday: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Speciality Museums • Ancient Ruins
So much depth to this museum! A must see if you want to learn more about indigenous and native textiles, pottery, masks, art, agriculture and more. I rate this museum better than the Museum of Indian Arts & Culture and Santa Fe. My 9yr old and 6yr old were thoroughly entranced by the dinosaur, the pottery, the activity center, the art and the vast collection of indigenous tools. See more..

- 4.5 Cyrus Avery Centennial Plaza (39 reviews)
-One of Many Things Tulsa Has to Offer
Bridges
Tulsa has a number of things to see and do, but we chose a few that our travel time would allow. This is in an area that runs beside the Arkansas River. There is parking across the road, then you walk across the bridge with the Rt 66 sign on it. Then you can go down the steps once you have crossed the road to see the statue here up close. There is also a court of flags showing the flags of the 8 states along art 66. Cyrus Avery is known as the father of Rt 66. This is another one of those somewhat quick stops for some photos and then you move on. The drive along Riverside Drive here is lovely, seeing the lengthy walking/running trails and nature statues along the path. See more..
- 4.5 Libby's Cafe (38 reviews)
-Great Down Home Cooking
Wednesday: 6:00 AM - 12:00 AM Bars & Clubs
Great assortment of foods from fried or grilled catfish to old fashioned meatloaf to classic chicken fired steak. There's something for everyone--from those watching their diet to those of us, like me, who sometimes don't care! The Peach Cobbler was heavenly! Just wished I had taken it home to re-heat as I was already stuffed from my bowl of hearty beef stew and cornbread. See more..
- 4.5 Claremore Lake (38 reviews)
-Beautiful
Spent 1-2 hours Bodies of Water
A relative has lived in Claremore for over five years, and we never knew this beautiful lake was just 10 minutes from her home! The west side of the lake has a nice park, water-play area ("splash pad"), walking trail, and fishing spots. The east side is mostly a residential street without many places to stop, but there's a parking lot at the trailhead for the mountain biking trails. Those trails are also good for hiking, but even the easiest one was what I would call moderate, with relatively steep inclines and lots of roots along the path. See more..
- 4.5 Heartland of America Museum (38 reviews)
-Fun for everyone
Wednesday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM History Museums
Our kids (14 and 7) were about done with museums when we found this one but I'm so glad we stopped. We were greeted at the door by two very friendly volunteers who encouraged us to take pictures with the buffalo up front, offered scavenger hunts for the kids and walked us through some of the exhibits with backstories as well as some personal stories with the exhibits themselves. One of the best museums we've seen and the kids ended up enjoying the visit as well. See more..

- 4.5 Cherokee National Prison Museum (37 reviews)
-Indian Territory Jailhouse
Wednesday: 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Speciality Museums
The Cherokee National Prison was the only penitentiary building in the entire Indian Territory from 1875 to 1901. It housed sentenced or accused prisoners from throughout the territory. It was built in 1875 and was created for the purpose of reformation as well as for punishment for offenders. The principal chief had the power to pardon condemned men, with the advice and consent of his executive council, but this was rarely exercised. Built of sandstone rock, it was, "made to hold the most hardened and dangerous prisoners." See more..
- 4.5 Clauren Ridge Vineyard and Winery (37 reviews)
-Wonderful vineyard!
Wednesday: Wineries & Vineyards
Came for a tasting. This winery has a wonderful set up. You can order a tasting of 6 different wines from their list, and the tasting is free if you buy a bottle. They have appetizers you can order to enjoy along with the wine. Anna was very sweet and helpful. There were several wines I tasted that I very much enjoyed. Their flavors were varied, the aromas were inviting, and the finishes were complete. For me, this winery offered everything I like in a good tasting, and more. It was a wonderful experience. See more..
- 4.5 Geronimo's Grave (36 reviews)
-Nice to see a part of history
Cemeteries
We've visited the grave site of Geronimo many times over the past four decades. While the picture shows the figure on top, it is often missing. Even after replacing it with a new one, it disappears (souvenir?). Then there are the stories of whether Geromino is truely buried there or if his remains were dug up days after his burial and taken to his homeland of the Arizona mountains. Some say yes, some say no. Regardless, it's a stop not to pass by. See more..
- 4.5 Osage Hills State Park (36 reviews)
-my favorite camping park
State Parks • Nature & Wildlife Areas • Forests
OHSP is lovely. Regardless the time of year, the park is extremely well-kept and clean. The campsites are fairly well-situated and there's enough room in each to spread out and not feel as if the campers next to you are in your space. Water and electric are available at all but the primitive campsites, and the cost is negligible. The area is on top of a rolling hill and heavily wooded. There are bath-houses situated throughout the park. Foe tent camping in an rv site (electric/water) and near a restroom, site 5 is our favorite. We are both elderly and handicapped but not bound to wheelchairs. We camp in instant tents and found site 5 to be the best for our use. It's also one of the prettiest sites in the camp. We have been camping in October, September, April, March and May.....be aware it gets very hot in the summer months...and in late September, the tarantulas wander freely during the day. Just leave them alone and they will happily wander on across the street. See more..

- 4.5 Museum of the Western Prairie (36 reviews)
-Literally a hidden gem
Wednesday: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Speciality Museums
There were no signs at all for this museum and it was way back in a residential area. No one would know it was there without reading about it first. It cost $3 each for seniors. A very informative lady took us into the museum and quickly explained how it was laid out and also described how this region was also part of the Greer County that Texas claimed. It was a beautiful, large museum. It had a section on the local Indians. Another on the cattle drives which included a Goodnight chuck wagon. There were some marvelous sculptures by Charles Russell and Remington. They had an impressive display of clothing. Outside they had a sod house and an old rock home. There was also lots of farm machinery. See more..
- 4.5 Twister The Movie Museum (34 reviews)
-Good overall experience and the twister museum is worth going for.
Speciality Museums
There is little to nothing in Wakita and it is out in the middle of nowhere. The twister museum had a lot of memorabilia but it was much smaller than what I was expecting. But it was good overall. The day we went was the twister festival. There were a couple of minor actors from the movie. They were signing Autographs but we did not wait in the long lines to get one. If you’re out that way, it’s definitely worth going to the twister museum if you were a fan of the movie. See more..
