I absolutely love Lovera's. I recently visited and bought some of their Caciocavera smoked cheese, and it is WONDERFUL! I met the owner Mrs. Lovera, and felt like I knew her my whole life! She gave me her recipe for Italian Vinegar and Oil Dressing! I plan to go back soon and bring some of my friends with me. We will eat at Rosanna's Italian Restaurant and then visit Loveras! And I will buy some more caciocavera cheese and their Italian sausage and then more! Fabulous experience! See more..
- 5.0 Vintage Sewing Center And Museum (76 reviews)
-Great for kids!!
Monday: Spent More than 3 hours Speciality Museums
I found this museum on Trip Advisor and read a few reviews that said others spent a couple hours here. So did we. I enjoyed talking with the owner. He is knowledgeable and his excitement to share about the machines makes it fun. My favorite part is that my kids were able to try a variety of sewing machines as well as a few other STEM experiences. They made key chains and designs for T-shirts and it was free for them. My son said he learned that sewing isn't boring, and it felt like it was his birthday! There are also classes they can participate in to grow in their creative abilities so we will be back, for sure! - 5.0 Lower Mountain Fork River (40 reviews)
-gorgeous
Bodies of Water
we never found any signage, specifying where we went, as lower mountain fork river, but i believe that's where we were. oklahoma has a bad reputation, for not having enough signs. there's a parking area and picnic tables, but walking on the river banks is the draw here. on the parking lot side of the road, it's flat. we were their during trout season. there were many fly fisherman there. across the road, from the parking lot, are where the falls and rapids are. the trail is pretty good. along the riverbank. but, everyone that parks, as of july 2020. needs a parking pass. you can get them on your phone. if you are not in their system, you will get a ticket. Hearing the actual survivors recall that terrifying night was the most powerful part of the exhibit for me. Be sure to have a seat in the barbers chair and listen to the barbers talk to each other. -Thanksgiving
State Parks
We stayed in the Lake House cabin for thanksgiving. It was wonderful! The cabin has three bedrooms - one has a kind bed and sleeper sofa and fireplace, the other 2 have 2 queen beds each. The living room has a fireplace and a sleeper sofa. Full kitchen. Nice deck with grill and fire ring. The cabin had even been decorated with a Christmas tree! The food at Foggy Bottom was really salty though so that was a negative - wish a better restaurant chain had paired up with the state parks. The service was good though. We enjoyed seeing the animals at the nature center. Wish we could’ve seen the Cherokee camping area but it was closed. Overall great experience! See more..
- 4.5 Grand Lake O' the Cherokees (84 reviews)
-Truly one of the top lakes in the country
Bodies of Water
Living here for over 20 years I believe Grand is truly one of the top lakes in the country. With over 1,300 shoreline mile there is plenty room for recreation, excellent marinas, and Bass Master quality fishing. The South part of the lake is the high dollar end with 50 foot cruisers and million dollar homes. The North end is more of a nature, redneck, pontoon boat area. Shangri-La is a great place to stay if like a resort type stay. Pine Lodge has little cabins in the woods. Both I recommend. The best place to eat is Rancho Viejo Mexican Restaurant in Grove. Try the Tamales and the Margarita Gold. See more..

- 4.5 The Sherwin Miller Museum of Jewish Art (74 reviews)
-Small but excellent
Monday: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Art Museums
The mission of the SMMJA is to preserve and promote Jewish heritage, culture, history and community through art and education.Through exhibitions and educational programs focusing on Jewish culture, history, religion, and art, the Museum hopes people will come to understand and identify with the Jewish experience. The Sherwin Miller Museum of Jewish Art (SMMJA) and its collections have been a part of Tulsa for decades. It began in 1965 when a local synagogue brought a traveling exhibit, “Traditional Ceremonial Art,” from the Jewish Museum in New York to the Tulsa community. It generated great interest in Jewish culture and art, and the following year, the Gershon and Rebecca Fenster Gallery of Jewish Art opened to the public. Sherwin Miller, the first Curator of the Gallery, began collecting Jewish art and artifacts in earnest. In 2000, the Museum was renamed the Sherwin Miller Museum of Jewish Art to recognize the achievements and contributions of its first curator. See more..

-Nature at it's best!
Nature & Wildlife Areas
We love to walk there all year around, even in the heat of a day as there is so much shade. Several marked trails, lots of unique plant life, bridges, and some wild-life. Even an abandoned rusty water tank and cistern from decades ago that held water for the city of Broken Arrow Water Department. A creek runs through it in various spots most seasons, and there are several flower gardens near the entrance as well as informative displays regarding wildlife. A very peaceful and serene setting, never very crowded. What a hidden gem! See more..

- 4.5 Marland's Grand Home (71 reviews)
-See this AFTER visiting the Marland mansion
Monday: History Museums
I’m glad we visited the Marland Grand Home the day AFTER touring the Mansion. This was the Marlands real home where they lived the longest and it feels welcoming. It’s a warm, beautiful and inviting house unlike the somewhat austere and showy mansion. The self guided tour here is very well done with excellent signage and many original artifacts. We spent a little over an hour touring the house and walking around the yard. This gracious home is well worth the time if you enjoy fascinating history and exquisite period homes. Highly recommend. See more..
- 4.5 Old Town Museum (70 reviews)
-Fun for history buffs
Spent 2-3 hours Speciality Museums
The combination of museums here makes for a nice stop. One admission fee pays to visit all but there's nothing stopping you from wandering around Old Town. In fact, we accidentally did that first because there's a lack of signage to see go to this specific part and pay before you wander around. Despite not being able to go inside the buildings of Old Town, (mostly just peer through windows), I really liked it. Though I was only part-way through a Route 66 trip, it felt like the town represented the entire trip, even though that's not what it's supposed to be. It just felt symbolic and fitting. The portion specifically devoted to Route 66 is fun too and offers a couple of scenes to imagine different eras and stops. (I marked travelled as solo because there's no family option w/o children. Some of us drive around our senior parents. That's family last time I checked.) See more..

- 4.5 National Softball Hall of Fame (68 reviews)
-Don't Miss the Women's College World Series
Speciality Museums
We have been to this event a few times at this venue and it is always well worth the cost. The entertainment level at softball games is faster pace and more exciting than baseball games, in general. Be sure to park at Remington Park and take the shuttle in so get free parking. Also, if you don't have tickets there will be scalpers at Remington Park selling tickets at a cut rate. Just know the going rate before you get there. See more..
- 4.5 Mary K. Oxley Nature Center (68 reviews)
-Excellent little nature center!
Nature & Wildlife Areas
We had a group of five trying to find a cool place to hang out together on a hot Tulsa day, and we found the nature center! We only visited in the building but I was really impressed with how much it had to offer in a limited space. We had three young children (ages 5 and 3) with us and they stayed entertained for well over an hour and a half looking at all the hands-on displays, pressing the buttons to hear the different bird sounds, and climbing in the really cool tree! We also fed the fish and turtles which was a nice treat for everyone. The staff was so friendly and kind and gave us some helpful tips. Although we didn't walk them, there are lots of trails you can hike that take you into nature - something I'd love to do on a future visit! See more..
- 4.5 Fish Tales Winery & Vineyards (67 reviews)
-Best Winery in Broken Bow
Monday: 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Wineries & Vineyards
Linda, Russell, and the rest of the staff at Fish Tales Winery were so warm and welcoming! They made our Broken Bow experience so memorable. The wine tasting was amazing and we liked so many wines, it was hard to choose just one bottle to take home! The atmosphere was calm and inviting, and we sat there all afternoon and just drank wine and chatted by the fireplace. Highly recommend the dip sampler and the peach wine! See more..
- 4.5 Gloss Mountain State Park (67 reviews)
-Stunning Views
State Parks
The Mountain glistens as you approach it. The climb up the stairs is somewhat steep "there are benches along the way" but the last 10ft to the top in is a little rugged as the stairs end. Once at the top the view for miles is beautiful in all directions. The landscape is great for pictures and is very relaxing. As you hike you'll see a lot of native plant life and animals including vultures and lizards. Across the far edge of the trail there is a bench set up for you just take in the views. I really enjoyed it, it's not very difficult to find or climb and is well worth it. I reccomend spending at least 2hrs here. There is vending at the parking lot with permanent portapotty style restrooms if needed. See more..
- 4.5 Pawnee Bill's Ranch, Museum and Wild West Show (65 reviews)
-Great family outing
Speciality Museums
We really enjoyed the museum as well as the tour of the mansion and grounds. We didn't have to pay because of our Oklahoma Historical Society membership, but the prices didn't seem prohibitive. The tour guide was very kind and patient with little people. The grounds are beautiful Oklahoma prairie and have lots of places for kids to run around, climb and play. The museum has a kids' area we really enjoyed and could have stayed there for hours. It has puzzles, books, little toys, chairs, and saddles. After our tour and museum time we drove around the property and enjoyed seeing the bison and long horns. Well worth our trip there. See more..
- 4.5 Veteran's Lake (65 reviews)
-Almost a private lake
Bodies of Water
Beautiful little lake with picnicking areas, walking/exercise path, pavilion for gatherings. Eventhough this is park of the large National Park known as Chickasaw National Recreation Area, it feels almost like a private lake. Most folks go to Lake of the Arbuckles at this Park for boating, fishing and camping. But Veteran's Lake is excellent for day use and smaller boats. Also, during the recent flooding of May and June 2015, this lake stayed open. Lake of the Arbuckles had to close due to safety concerns and property damage issues. See more..
- 4.5 Beavers Bend State Park (64 reviews)
-Parking Pass First, then enjoy the park.
Monday: State Parks
Pay attention to the parking pass signs, and get the pass while you have service or connect to their wifi. Or venture into the park to the Heritage museum BEFORE attempting to park anywhere. I'm almost certain that one of the parking enforcement trucks watched us pull into a spot because it wasn't 5 minutes away from the car when we were getting a ticket. Other than that, we enjoyed our time! We got the pass for the whole day, and drove through the park, taking in all the scenery. Then, we stopped off at the Spillway to checkout the dam and watch people fish in the stream. We hiked down to the edge of the lake and put our feet in the water. We rented a paddle boat for an hour. Lots of fun things to do and see. We spent our entire day here. See more..
