Thanksgiving
We stayed in the Lake House cabin for thanksgiving. It was wonderful! The cabin has three bedrooms - one has a kind bed and sleeper sofa and fireplace, the other 2 have 2 queen beds each. The living room has a fireplace and a sleeper sofa. Full kitchen. Nice deck with grill and fire ring. The cabin had even been decorated with a Christmas tree! The food at Foggy Bottom was really salty though so that was a negative - wish a better restaurant chain had paired up with the state parks. The service was good though. We enjoyed seeing the animals at the nature center. Wish we could’ve seen the Cherokee camping area but it was closed. Overall great experience!

Mini Vacation
Came with extended family. This facility has been extensively remodeled in the last few years, I was last here in 1987. The rooms were very nice. I was in a poolside room that had a deck and overlooked the beautiful swimming pool and watching sunrise was one of my highlights. some of my party stayed in a one bedroom cabin, that was very nice as well. the cabin had what i think is the biggest deck i have ever seen. it was beautiful ( i think it was larger than my apartment). it is my hope that in the future i can return!

Good during the week, hicks on the weekend.
Do get one of the cabins on the lake. They are worth the price. I got a cabin on the lake and one on the back side. Both were nice. Go during the week unless you are accustomed to the hicks who just want to drink and be loud. We rented a pontoon from the marina for half a day. Great fun and some great fishing. Take a walk on the trails if you are alone or with your family.
