Osage Tribal Museum, Library and Archives, Oklahoma, United States

Small but rewarding, and see the campus

The museum is mostly in one main room and then a room behind it. Be sure to go into the latter because the collection of drums there is amazing. We especially liked the ones that have traditional tribal art on one side and modern art on the other. The whole Osage Nation Campus that it's on is worth looking around at, including the modern law buildings and the veterans memorial with the feather sculpture.

    Educational!
A lovely little museum on Osage Tribal history. We met a 91 year old lady, who was a delight to talk to, I could have talked with her all day. She was the best part of our trip. The drum display is phenominal.

    Very Educational
The Osage Tribal Museum, Library, and Archives is very educational and provides a lot of information about the Osage people. The building itself is quite small...basically two rooms, plus office space for the tribal members that operate the facility. The displays and photos truly are representative of the history of the tribe. The docents are extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and love telling "their story." One of the great parts of the facility is that Osage descendants can trace the history of their own families.
