- 5.0 Parque Nacional Ordesa Y Monte Perdido (1.770 reviews)
-So many possibilities!
National Parks
This is a place with many possibilities of entertainment depending on your physical abilities, time of the year and your own perspectives of what to accomplish. There is a serious of trails, all of them well marked and maintained. The views all over are magnificent and well worth visiting more than one time, so consider visiting it multiple times to fully appreciate what it has to offer. Check the weather as it will be the only deterrent to fully enjoy it. Choose a sunny day and go early, so you don’t have to rush through the trails without stopping to enjoy the surroundings. - 5.0 Valle de Pineta (392 reviews)
-A great excursion for all family
Valleys
Valle de Pineta is a valley located in Ordesa National Park, in Aragonese Pyrenees, in the North of Spain. It is located near Bielsa, the last town before the border of France. We came all family here to do the excursion to Llanos de Lalarri (Lalarri Lands in English) and it was great. The best one the wonderful views of the mountains and Lalarri Lands, the place, where we lunched and enjoyed with the landscape. Also, it is possible to do for children and seniors. Very recommendable for all family. (See also Parque Nacional Ordesa) See more..
- 4.5 Basilica de Nuestra Senora del Pilar (8.085 reviews)
-A pillar church
Historic Sites • Religious Sites
A Basilic church that has a miraculous beginning. I have never thought that I will be inside this wonderful church. It is breathtaking to see how the church was made and the designs and history that only walls of the church can tell. If you are religious or just coming in Zaragoza for a tour, you must see this church. See more..
- 4.5 Palacio de la Aljaferia (4.299 reviews)
-Not to be missed
Monday: 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM, 4:30 PM - 8:00 PM Spent 2-3 hours Historic Sites • Architectural Buildings • Monuments & Statues
An exceptional site, and exceptionally well presented. Guided tours can be booked, but we took ourselves around. Headsets are available and there are information boards in English throughout. We were particularly interested to see how the building was changed over the centuries, and that the most recent ‘alteration’ has been to emphasise its moorish origin. Beautiful architecture and displays. A small gift shop, and a cafe offering a ridiculously cheap menu del dia and some of the best coffee in Spain. And for us oldies, the entrance fee was just a euro! See more..
- 4.5 Monasterio de Piedra (4.081 reviews)
-Very beautiful for a day hike in nature
Spent More than 3 hours Churches & Cathedrals
The park with so many waterfalls, each one different, is a real pleasure to visit; there is some kind of inner silence it calls. Prepare a small picnic or you can eat in the little restaurant right at the entrance. We took a bus earl from Zaragoza to Catalayud and from there another bus direct to the monastery, and in the afternoon same back to Zaragoza. See more..
- 4.5 El Tubo (3.233 reviews)
-Fun corner of town
Points of Interest & Landmarks
Stop by during dinnertime, it's right in the heart of old town and has so much energy! It kinda blew my mind after walking around a very sleepy city the rest of the evening. We found good cheap bites and had a fun time drinking here and taking in the vibes. Worth a walk by even if you want something a little more elevated for dinner. See more..
- 4.5 La Seo del Salvador (2.474 reviews)
-Extraordinary architecture inside and out.
Historic Sites • Architectural Buildings • Religious Sites
An extraordinary place. A handset guide is included in your entrance fee - but unfortunately it’s the same English narrator who mispronounces so many words; and the same historian who has written so many words, that we are familiar with from so many other cathedral visits in Spain - so much detail about the chapels. However, I am told that the guide for children is really good. Lots of chapels to see, but it’s the main building architecture that is so stunning. Take a look around outside, especially towards the rear. The entrance fee includes the tapestry museum - really not to be missed. On reflection, my advice would be to visit the outside first, then the tapestries before using what energy you have left with the handset and guide to the chapels. See more..
- 4.5 Plaza del Pilar (1.894 reviews)
-A plaza that connects
Points of Interest & Landmarks
A plaza that come alive at night! Vibrant with lots of activities and intricate architectural details. One of my favourite in Spain. The Plaza is surrounded by the town hall, Basillica and the Hispanic Fountain See more..
- 4.5 Fundacion Amantes de Teruel (1.371 reviews)
-Very nice church and more!
Monuments & Statues
It’s more then only a church visit. Also the mausoleum from Teruels most famous lovers is placed here. And the church is also like the cathedral definitely worthy of a visit. For sure when you do the full tour and also go up on the rooftop and get guided over all the grounds. Tours are think it only in Spanish but with the audio book I got around fine. Staff is also very pleasant and friendly! See more..
- 4.5 Monastery of San Juan de la Peña (1.292 reviews)
-Absolutely unique!
Spent 2-3 hours Points of Interest & Landmarks
I love bringing people to see this place! Set in a cliff, you have to come up a narrow winding road, round bend after bend, and suddenly you see the Romanesque cloister and you feel as if the cliff will fall at any moment. The first sight is quite something! San Juan de la Peña is a collection of buildings; the spectacular old monastery, some of which dates back to the 8th century, inhabited until the 16th century when it was devastated by fire. The monks then moved to the room of the hill and built the new monastery, of which just a few walls remain, but they are displayed in such a way that you walk over transparent floors and see the white, ghostly figures of the monks in their ruined cells. An amazing visit, to be thoroughly recommended! See more..
- 4.5 Parque Jardin Historico Monasterio de Piedra (1.274 reviews)
-Relaxing, impressive, clean
Spent More than 3 hours Parks
Posted plenty photos of this location but quite simply visit if you are in the area and if you are not then it is worth the drive to get there. The whole zone is impressive. It is extremely well maintained and the walks are clearly signposted. Some areas are closed in, so keep that in mind, but anyone that can walk can get through. I can’t speak to wheelchair users. The scenery and waterfalls are stunning, we visited after heavy rainfall to everything was bouncing!! The restaurant food is surprisingly reasonably priced with sensible distancing in place. You can spend the whole day here, take a picnic and relax. See more..
- 4.5 Torre Del Pilar (1.101 reviews)
-Amazing view
Monuments & Statues
The £3 to go up by elevator are a must - you need to go into the church and follow an arrow, and don’t worry as the lift isn’t closed (the chap who sells tickets also goes up and down). After the end of the lift ride you still go up a few more flights, but mind that the landing for the lift probably gives you the best photos. Go in the morning as the sun is right. See more..
- 4.5 Pasarelas del Vero (1.081 reviews)
-Very nice excursion on Vero River Canyon
Hiking Trails
Pasarelas del Rio Vero are artificial walkpath on the Vero River Canyon, in the surroundings of Alquezar, a very beautiful town in Aragon Region. Here you can literally walk on the River and see some very beautiful views of it and the Canyon. Pitifully now you have to pay to enter in the excursion, because there are a lot of people (in coronavirus times now, before). However the excursion is very nice. I recommend you do the excursion until the viewpoint, after it is not necessary (we went to Asque, a little town about 8 km from Alquezar). See more..
- 4.5 Ciudadela De Jaca (1.075 reviews)
-The must-see location in Jaca
Monday: 10:30 AM - 1:30 PM, 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Military Museums • Castles • History Museums
The citadel of Jaca dates from the 16th century, a star-shaped fortress that houses a fantastic military miniatures museum, a museum dedicated to special forces and a remarkable collection of military art. It's also worth wandering around the battlements and staring down at the deep moat to try and spot the deer. Allow about 90 minutes to take in everything that it has to offer. See more..
- 4.5 Plaza Mayor (937 reviews)
-Welcoming and Relaxing
Spent < 1 hour Points of Interest & Landmarks
The Plaza was welcoming on the Friday evening in mid -May when we arrived. It was quiet with a few tables here and there where happy travellers sat in friendly chatter. A stroll across the stone walls and onto the plaza was relaxing. We enjoyed our meal at one of the restaurants. See more..
- 4.5 Estacion Internacional de Canfranc (927 reviews)
-Great building! Very interesting history!
Spent 1-2 hours Historic Sites • Points of Interest & Landmarks • Architectural Buildings
Estación Internacional de Canfranc is the tren station located in the little town called Canfranc near the border between Spain and France, in the Pyrenees. It was built in the beginning of the 20th Century, but it was inaugurated in 1928 and due to the Spanish War and 2nd World War it could not be used until some years after. Really it has a brief, but very interesting history. Also, years after, this place was not used as a very important border point, so the train station was abandoned and bad preserved. Nowadays, it is an impressive building, where you can learn about the history of the region in a guided visit, but only you can see one of the rooms with original furniture, because it was being restored and in a near future converted in a 5* hotel. In fact, nowadays, you can go to Zaragoza from here in a long travel in one of the five or six trains, which arrive there everyday. A hidden gem (an for me an unknown place) in the region. A top building and history! See more..
- 4.5 Cathedral of Jaca (751 reviews)
-Don't miss the museum
Monday: 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM Spent < 1 hour Religious Sites
The Cathedral of St Peter the Apostle is a Roman Catholic church located in Jaca, in Aragon, Spain. It is the seat of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Jaca. It is the first Romanesque cathedral built in Aragon (1070s - early 12th century)and one of the oldest in the Iberian peninsula. Its current appearance is the result of later additions and modifications introduced especially in the early modern period (from the late XVth to late XVIIIth century). Don´t hesitate to visit us! See more..
- 4.5 Murallas de Albarracin (735 reviews)
-Gorgeous must see
Points of Interest & Landmarks
This village is like nothing else we have ever seen. We explored it for a little over an hour right at sunset, and the city was a glow. It is not an easy place to get to but the ride there and back is extremely interesting with hiking trails in Roman ruins. See more..
- 4.5 Castillo de Loarre (701 reviews)
-Beautifully preserved Lombard castle
Spent < 1 hour Castles
Very well preserved castle with many rooms to explore. Tours are ONLY in Spanish (the website suggests other languages are available, but this is not true). You can download an audio guide, but it relies on a good mobile signal, which cut out several times as we self toured the castle; we found it hard therefore to work out where we were and what we were looking at. Despite that the castle is well worth the visit due to its excellent state of preservation. Plenty of parking- not accessible without a vehicle. The ticket includes a visit to Bolea church (well worth it if you can) and San Lorenzo. I would recommend you download the (more limited) guide in your chosen language BEFORE arrival. The famous dog is first turn on the right as you enter (easily missed) See more..
- 4.5 Torre Mudejar de El Salvador (700 reviews)
-My favorite tower in Teruel!
Monday: 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM Spent < 1 hour Points of Interest & Landmarks • Observation Decks & Towers
Over seven centuries after being built in the early XIVth century, the Tower of El Salvador still leaves us speechless. As it was the last tower in Teruel to be erected, it is among the esteemed landmarks that have been inscribed on UNESCO's World Heritage List in 1986. The Tower actually consists of two towers, one inside the other. The Almohade model was indeed kept in mind; the architects and builders were Mudéjars, who were Muslims employed by the Christians at the time From outside, we can enjoy the brick and ceramic calligraphies as well as the street at its feet, as if intending not to disturb. Inside, 122 steps lead us to three rooms whose mortar plastered walls keep charming graffiti from the time of its erection; and we keep spinning upstairs like dancing Dervishes up to the bellfry. Once there, we lean out, take our time to feel the air, listen to the whisper and watch the sunshine on the glazed ceramics, the urban tapestry of Teruel, ''The City of Towers.'' See more..
- 4.5 Escalinata del Ovalo (660 reviews)
-Stairway to heaven...!
Points of Interest & Landmarks
You may travel the world but I can guarantee that you will not see a more majestic, grand and spectacular stairway than this one in Teruel. Simply called 'La Escalinata' or the staircase, it is a marvelous example of mudejar inspired architecture. Built in 1921 by Ancieto Marinas, it elevates the modest stairway in architecture to a level of inspired art. It is simply awesome. Its detailing, the placement of tiles and brickwork is stunning. As is it's relief sculpture of Teruel's storied lovers. To me it qualifies to be a permanent art installation. It may be 'just' a staircase but Do Not Miss it! See more..
- 4.5 Visita turistica de Sos del Rey Catolico (656 reviews)

Worth a visit and the view is fantastic, bit of a climb to the entrance , so take it slow and enjoy the visit See more..
- 4.5 Puente de Piedra (450 reviews)
-Lovely crossing
Spent < 1 hour Historic Sites • Bridges
Even though construction began in the early 1400s, it has been refurbished in the meantime. For example the four stately lions were only added in 1991. Said lions are a fabulous addition, one standing sleek sentinel in each corner. Marvellous robust stone work is the distinguishing feature. From along it grand vistas of the river and city including Cathedral and spires are there to be seen. See more..
- 4.5 El Parrizal (432 reviews)
-Spectacular scenery
Hiking Trails
If you come to this area, you have to do this walk; waterfalls, crystal clear pools of water, a deep canyon, trees and flowers. It's worth paying for, and the fee probably stops it from getting overcrowded. The track is well maintained, but not good for anyone who has trouble with stairs or severe vertigo. Don't miss the prehistoric paintings (signposted). Free WiFi at the car park. See more..
- 4.5 Huesca Cathedral (428 reviews)
-Beautiful on the outside
Religious Sites
These people are exaggerating with their “siesta”. It is awful, everything is closed in the afternoon! Huesca doesn’t have many things to offer but this cathedral which I couldn’t even get in! However, it is a nice building, I find it has more character than other overrated ones like the one in Girona. Nice details on the façade, looks warm and welcoming but with all the sadness, this is all I can say. See more..
- 4.5 Catedral Santa María de la Huerta Tarazona (397 reviews)
-Spectacular!
Churches & Cathedrals
What makes the cathedral standout from many other Mudejar places of worship is the historical preservation work and the excellent presentation of the artefacts discovered during that process. The history of the building is traced from its origins through to current times with many period artefacts on display. Clear, concise and very interesting. Congratulations Catedral Santa de la Huerta on a presentation of works that is both different and significantly more engaging than the majority of other religious sites See more..

- 4.5 Cascada de Sorrosal (382 reviews)
-Great walk to here, stunning views
Spent 1-2 hours Waterfalls
Great walk to here, stunning views of the valley of Ordesa. It's a 10km walk, not too steep, sometimes rocky. Use good walking shoes, take water. Be aware there are no bars/toilets/... along the way. Just nature. See more..
- 4.5 Museo De Tapices Y Capitular De La Seo (379 reviews)
-Highlight of our cathedral visit
Speciality Museums
I have done a separate review of the cathedral. Access to the tapestry museum is part of your cathedral entrance price. The stunning tapestries are worth a visit on their own, and I make the point that touring the cathedral can be quite tiring and I would advise starting with the tapestries. Three rooms of huge hung tapestries. Explanations in English with a free handset. See more..
