    Parque Juan Carlos I image
This is a nice park, well maintained and clean. Especially worth a visit if you are travelling with kids - as in our case - since it has a big playground for them to enjoy. Within walking distance from the city's centre. See more..
  2. 4.5 Parque Maritimo del Mediterraneo (332 reviews)
    - Fabulous!

You will have seen, perhaps, the Lagoon on Tenerife. This was designed by the same person, Manrique, and is even better. Wonderful warm water as it's shallow and heated by the sun, perfect islands with plants flowers and trees. Pointers and sunshade, bars and restaurants. We spent a whole day there, I would have spent a whole week. See more..
  3. 4.5 El Conjunto Monumental de las Murallas Reales (319 reviews)
    - Ceuta - overday trip from Algeciras on our own
    Historic Sites
El Conjunto Monumental de las Murallas Reales image
We came to Ceuta over a day by ferry from Algeciras, this ferry connection takes about 1-1,5 hour. It is easy to walk from ferry terminal in Ceuta to the town, no need to have a transfer. In our 5 hours in Ceuta we could walk through the most of old town and see the most of sights, take a lunch break and make some shopping. Town is interesting to visit. And there is a number of excursions available to Morocco when in town. See more..

  5. 4.5 Playa de la Ribera (51 reviews)
    - Beautiful beach
    Spent 1-2 hours Beaches
    Playa de la Ribera image
In February 2023 we visited Ceuta and spent some time on Playa de la Ribera. The beach was a short walk from the centre of Ceuta, which was beautiful with parks, fountains, plazas, museums, monuments and historical buildings including the House of Dragons, the Cathedral,, the fort, Murallas Reales de Ceuta, the Triumphal arch, Faro Punta Almin lighthouse and Fuerte del Desnarigado fort. On the day we visited it was very warm and there were lots of families enjoying picnics on the spacious beach. The beach was spotlessly clean, the sand was soft and the sea was turquoise blue with clear water. At the beach we spoke to a local couple who said that in the summer the beach is very busy with inflatables in the sea and it is possible to hire sunbeds and umbrellas as well as participating in water sports such as kayaking or canoeing. On the beach there were several beach bars and showers. See more..

  8. 4.5 Puerta Califal de Ceuta (22 reviews)
    - This must be hidden or banishes
    Spent 1-2 hours Historic Sites
    Puerta Califal de Ceuta image
The main reason I visited Ceuta was to go to this so-called ancient architectonic museum, but instead, it looked like it disappeared even though I was able to located in my google map I could not find any way in. No one there seems to know about this "tourist attraction". After like 45 minutes of walking around the area I asked several security officers in the surrounding area and those int he entrance of the Royal Walls which must he part of this place however the name Puerta Califal did not resonate to them at all, even though they thought I was making that up until I showed them the google map. I mean is this a Joke? After wandering around a little more I found the entrance but was totally closed and dirty and looking like an abandoned place. I called the city offices but no one answers. I am surprised of seeing the people's comments on internet about this place because it seems to be closed and abandoned. In summary if you are planning to travel to Ceuta to see this, I recommend investigating first. See more..
  9. 4.5 Ceuta Star (20 reviews)
    - A hidden gem
    Spent 1-2 hours Breweries
    Ceuta Star image
This is worth looking for, hidden in a square very near the central market building. We stopped and poked our head in and asked to buy beer on tap. What a treat! We tried all 3 beers on tap and were given some snacks as well, perfect to go with the beer. Their is no seating inside as full of production so tall table and stools were placed under the awning outside. Between our limited Spanish and their much better English we learned a lot of the hard work and loving care of the brewing process. We really enjoyed the mini tour and especially drinking the fantastic flavour beers. They also sell take out in very impressive packaging (mini crates). Highly recommended for the beer connoisseur or just for a great beer on a hot day. See more..

  22. 4.0 Los Hercules y la Union del Mundo (48 reviews)
    - Statue of Hercules
    Spent < 1 hour Monuments & Statues
Los Hercules y la Union del Mundo image
What an impressive work of art. A definite photo op from many angles. This statue is not that old, erected around 2006 but it is a gargantuan work of art that was built to mark the land of Africa where Hercules marked his pillars separating Europe and Africa. This monument symbolizes the separation of the two continents. The story may be a myth but it is certainly a noteworthy tale. See more..
  23. 4.0 Mercado Central (32 reviews)

    Mercado Central image
Not large (well, neither is Ceuta...) - but an interesting selection of shops, mostly produce. Looks fairly clean and organized. I too found many shops shut - don't know if it was time of day, day of week.... Still worth a visit. See more..

    Parque de San Amaro image
If you want to go for a stroll, do some exercise, walk uphill, see birds or take your children to play, this is the right place for you. I loved the sights of the city you can get from its many viewpoints and I found it very useful that it has free toilets in the entrance since the park is very wide. If you come during the La Mochila festival you'll see locals having a picnic and eating nuts. Don't be shy and join them. See more..
  25. 4.0 Playa del Chorrillo (11 reviews)

    Spent < 1 hour Beaches
    Playa del Chorrillo image
In February 2023 we visited Ceuta and spent some time on Playa del Chorrillo which was a short walk from the centre of Ceuta. On the day we visited it was very warm and there were lots of families, couples and large groups enjoying picnics on the spacious beach. The 1200 meter sandy beach was spotlessly clean with clear Mediterranean water. Whilst in Ceuta we spoke to a local couple who said that in the summer the beach is very busy with beach bars, inflatables in the sea and it is possible to hire sunbeds and umbrellas, as well as participating in water sports such as kayaking or canoeing. I arrived at the Base gate not realising that the Museum was housed inside a working Military Base. I speak no Spanish and the gate Guards spoke no English but after showing my Passport and a wait of 15 minutes they located a young Regulare who spoke English and who guided me around the exhibits of this exceptional Museum and Barracks. I was stunned by the respectful treatment given to me,the tourist and have to say that I felt privileged to be allowed to visit this wonderful establishment. Highly recommended if you are in Ceuta. Escultura Pedro Meneses image
It's an interesting sculpture you are going to come across, if you happen to walk on Ceuta's seafront. It is a nice walk, full of water fountains (we counted at least 5 or 6 in a km). Sculpture itself is worth a photo. See more..
