- 5.0 Pyrenean Experience (222 reviews)
-Magical adventure in Basque Country
Cultural Tours • Walking Tours • Food Tours
Here we are at her farmhouse near Ituren, in the Basque Pyrenees, greeted by the one and only energetic and bubbly Georgina Howard. In no time, she made us feel like her cherished guests. As we settled into our very comfortable accommodation with stunning views of the valley delightful bites came out and wine…then her daughter, Marion who is so special and brilliant. These memories are unforgettable, remaining ever vivid and heartwarming! What more can someone ask for! This is for someone who loves the country side like our group – and a kind of magic one doesn’t find very often. We adore nature, good food, hikes, stories, and fun adventures. We discovered the nooks and crannies of this beautiful mountain area full of small farms, rocky steams, and cobble stone road hamlets with well done trail maps and sometimes with our amazing Georgina who loved sharing more of the history and basque culture. After a full day of activities this was followed by highly anticipated family style dinners which never disappointed anyone! Thank you Fiona & Carol! Countryside is breathtakingly beautiful. Until next time...muchas gracias a todos! See more..

- 5.0 Compania de Guias de las Bardenas (121 reviews)
-Unique desert in Europe....Bardenas Reales
4WD, ATV & Off-Road Tours • Bike Tours • Walking Tours • Private Tours • Bus Tours
We (2 adults and 2 kids) planned a visit to Bardenas Reales and were very glad to book the trip with Compania de Guias de las Bardenas. Our guide for the day was Enrique and he was perfectly on time. Enrique was very enthousiastic and his English was good. He took us to 'secret' places of the desert en showed us the area and told us about living in the desert. He explained the terrain and rock formations very clearly. Most beautiful were the vultures' nests on the Cliffs and observe the vultures with proffesional goggles with a team of people who protect the area. With Enrique we had immediately contact and good use their observation gear....wonderful. Sometimes you don't realise that your still in Europe...it looks like the badlands of the USA or a desert in North Africa. Thats why this place is a popular area to shoot movies (westerns/Game of Thrones). We and the kids liked it very much and recommend a 4x4 tour with Compania de Guias de las Bardenas. Gracias!! - 4.5 Palacio Real de Olite (2.051 reviews)
-Simply amazing
Monday: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM Spent 2-3 hours Points of Interest & Landmarks • Castles
Visited while in town although we hadn’t planned on it. We walked by, it was open, so we stopped in. The retired entrance price was 2€ each. The Palace began being restored in the mid to late 1920s and it was restored magnificently. One can climb all the tours which seldom happens with castles or palaces. We spent about an hour visiting it. See more..
- 4.5 Catedral de Pamplona (1.642 reviews)
-Unsuspectingly enjoyable
Spent 1-2 hours Architectural Buildings • Churches & Cathedrals
As a last minute thing we popped into the cathedral... glad we did. Totally worth the time....really innovative method of display using mixed media (sound, light, carvings etc). We weren't expecting lot and we loved it. Don't miss the cloisters as they were best part. See more..

- 4.5 Bardenas Reales (1.167 reviews)
-Fantastic
Deserts
The Bardenas Reales is a arid desert region that was named a Natural Park in 1999 and incorporates 45,000 hectares of landscapes whose vegetation and rock formations are unique in Europe. The most famous landmark is the Castildetierra. It's landscapes were also famously used as backdrops for "Spaghetti Westerns" filmed in the 1950s. In 2000, it was declared a Biosphere reserve by UNESCO. See more..
- 4.5 Ayuntamiento de Pamplona (997 reviews)
-Center of Everything!
Points of Interest & Landmarks • Government Buildings
That's where everything starts, and the center of the Running of the Bull opening and approval. It's amazing that the whole square is full of people during the opening ceremony and event. I mean, sea of people!!! It's also where the people against the bull fighting protested and lying naked. The running of the bull also passed there, and it's where the office of the mayor seats. - 4.5 Parque de La Taconera (548 reviews)

- 4.5 Nacedero del Urederra (529 reviews)
-One of the many unmissable experiences of Navarra
National Parks
A truly beautiful walk which, for the main part, follows the river, with its stunning turquoise water and enchanting waterfalls, through the sublimity of the surrounding nature. The walk is about 6km, the (circular) path is clearly signposted and there are no sections of the walk which would pose a problem for inexperienced hikers. A reservation is necessary (easily done on-line at a cost of 5 euros). My only complaint is that the final part of the walk is currently off-limits. See more..
- 4.5 Parque Natural Urbasa Andia (468 reviews)
-Beautiful place
Nature & Wildlife Areas
What a beautiful park! We were really glad that we found this place. We visited it in the beginning of June and it was still relatively empty and not overcrowded with other tourists. The streams and waterfalls in this park are so beautiful and serene that it makes you want to stay there forever. The route itself is very easy and can be covered by people of fitness levels, but remember to bring water and wear proper shoes, not high heels or ballet pumps (we've seen crazy individuals like this:). The people in the village next to this park are so nice and welcoming, especially the lady in the information booth at the car park and the old lady that sells icecream in the last house before the village boundaries. She called us carrinos all the time and brought huge smiles to our faces. Also, if you driving towards Vitoria and A2 via Urbasa mountain top later on, it's definitely worth stopping at Balcon de Pilatas on your way - breathtaking views! See more..
- 4.5 Foz de Lumbier (428 reviews)
-Another beautiful part of Navarra
Canyons
The Foz de Lumbier is a strange, but enchanting mix of sensations. On the one hand you have the stunning natural gorge, through which the river runs. On the other you have the two man-made railway tunnels (a single-line railway ran through here until 1955). The basic route, there and back, is just 3 km and is suitable for those in wheelchair. There are points where you can go down to the riverside if you wish. (3 euros for parking btw) See more..

- 4.5 Colegiata de Roncesvalles (335 reviews)
-Must visit for pilgrims
Churches & Cathedrals
The church, a former pilgrim's hospice, is one of the most impressive examples of French gothic architecture. Built in the 13th c. by the Navarran King Sancho VII el Fuerte, it now plays host to his tomb. You can enter the cloisters and the tomb by paying EUR 2.50. I attended the 8pm pilgrims mass while I was there during my camino. See more..
- 4.5 Plaza de los Fueros (282 reviews)
-The true heart of the city!

Lovely plaza, nicely maintained. Great spot to people watch & wander around. At the edge of the casco viejo where most of the best of most interesting bars & cafeterias are. A beautiful plaza in a wonderful Spanish town! See more..
- 4.5 Cerco de Artajona (268 reviews)
-Outstanding visit
Monday: 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM, 4:30 PM - 7:30 PM Spent 1-2 hours Historic Sites • Points of Interest & Landmarks • Architectural Buildings • Monuments & Statues
It is an actual medieval fortress that once was an independent kingdom by itself, with preserved towers and stonewalls. We have a church (from the XIIIth century) that was made as a fortress itself, with a really unique roof that is inverted. Now you can visit both the church and its roof. We open it each half an hour, at a price of 2€ and one euro plus if you want to mount to the misterious roof, where you can also see the views, that are incredible. We can even see other regions from there, such as Aragon and La Rioja. See more..
- 4.5 Iglesia-Fortaleza de Santa María de Ujue (265 reviews)
-Mediaeval hill top town
Spent < 1 hour Points of Interest & Landmarks • Architectural Buildings • Religious Sites • Churches & Cathedrals
Its a steep walk to the top, but well worth the effort. The views to the snow capped Pyrenees and across the plains are stunning on a clear day. See more..
- 4.5 Senorio de Bertiz Natural Park (262 reviews)
-Breathtaking
Spent More than 3 hours Nature & Wildlife Areas • Parks
Amazing natural area, very interesting and beautiful. Due to covid restrictions the interactive parts are closed but it is still very reccomendable for everyone. There are lots of places to sit and enjoy the views. The part of the park where you have to pay is very worth it!! There are lots of birds and squirrells that aren't scared of people, it was fun to see them. See more..
- 4.5 Catedral Santa Maria de Tudela (232 reviews)
-Impressive cathedral built on the remains of the original mosque
Churches & Cathedrals
Certainly worth a visit, with a beautiful cloister, impressive arches and simple alabaster windows- The Romanesque portico is gorgeous. See more..
- 4.5 Puente Romanico (223 reviews)
-Another nice Romanesque bridge on the Camino
Spent 1-2 hours Bridges
I’d heard of the bridge and didn’t make it to the town back in 2017. I thought the stop would be quick, but after seeing the bridge from the far side of the river, we decided to go into town and see it from that angle. We actually thought the town was cute. Seeing the bridge only take a few minutes, but I think it is worth visiting. See more..
- 4.5 Iglesia de San Saturnino (188 reviews)
-Please be quiet and respectful here
Points of Interest & Landmarks • Churches & Cathedrals
I went here soon after the church opened in the afternoon. There were lots of tourists inside, laughing and taking photographs, and finally the man in charge of the church, turned off all the lights, except for two or three. That basically ruined it for the rest of us that just wanted to quietly enjoy the interior of this beautiful church. This place really is worth visiting, and everything is covered in glittering gold. See more..
- 4.5 Parroquia San Lorenzo (184 reviews)
-Beautiful church with San Fermin chapel
Points of Interest & Landmarks
The church of San Lorenzo was close to our lodgings on Calle Mayor. It turned out to be a particularly beautiful and personal church with a big side chapel dedicated to San Fermin. He is the dark skinned Saint to whom the bull runs are dedicated and who sculpture is paraded through town. See more..
- 4.5 IrriSarri Land (145 reviews)
-An amazing place but the horses were a little slow!
Monday: 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM Biking Trails • Zipline & Aerial Adventure Parks • Gear Rentals • Horseback Riding Tours
We only managed to do a horse trail around the amazing setting but the place was amazing, shame the horses were tired and fairly overweight. See more..
- 4.5 Iglesia de Sta. Maria de Eunate (142 reviews)
-Peaceful Meditation
Churches & Cathedrals
I was walking the Camino and stayed in Murazabal where the hosts allowed me to ride a bike out to the church. Although the Church was closed for the day, I walked around the perimeter, chose a lovely spot to meditate. It was probably better in the late afternoon when the church was closed and without bus loads of tourists! I was able to indulge in quiet meditation in a very peaceful grounded fashion. See more..
- 4.5 Foz de Arbayun (142 reviews)
-Incredible view
Canyons
Incredible view of the gorge and lots of free parking spaces. Not busy at all so easy to park. Lots of vultures flying around. See more..
- 4.5 Activa Experience (140 reviews)
-A great way to see Bardenas Reales desert
4WD, ATV & Off-Road Tours
Thoroughly enjoyable experience using a self drive buggy (with guide ahead) to explore a large part of Bardenas Reales desert. The guide was prompt to arrive and sort out the vehicles, taking time to explain the controls. We stopped at various points along the way for the guide to explain (he was fluent in English, French and Spanish) various aspects of the desert. Using the buggy meant we were able to see all the main points of the desert as well as some less frequented areas. The driving was great fun (be aware at times you will be driving on the public highway, so will need to have a valid driving licence). The booking process was straightforward with a 20% deposit on booking- the site states you will need to pay the remainder 24 hours before but this has actually changed to on the day payment. The buggies appeared to be in working order. See more..
