Welcoming and Relaxing

The Plaza was welcoming on the Friday evening in mid -May when we arrived. It was quiet with a few tables here and there where happy travellers sat in friendly chatter. A stroll across the stone walls and onto the plaza was relaxing. We enjoyed our meal at one of the restaurants.

    Beautiful at Night
This was a beautiful place to see at night. So many doorways and small roads to explore and photograph. Entering the large plaza at night, I enjoyed hearing an Eagle-owl calling out sporadically. The sounds of the bats echoing off the walls was loud and impressive. Very incredible experience. Once you get into the shops and narrow streets, there is so much to see. This was worth the trip.

    Very beautiful main square
Plaza Mayor (Main Square in English) is located in the center of the old town of Ainsa, a very beautiful town in Aragonese Pyrenees, in the North of Spain. Probably, it is the most beautiful place in the old town. Here there are a lot of bars and restaurants with terrace, so it is a very good place to eat or drink something and come with children, because the square is big and (almost) there are not cars. Very nice. (see also La Tea, Castillo Fortaleza de Ainsa, Iglesia de Santa María, Eco Museo - Centro de Visitantes, Iglesia Parroquial de Santa Maria)
