An exceptional site, and exceptionally well presented. Guided tours can be booked, but we took ourselves around. Headsets are available and there are information boards in English throughout. We were particularly interested to see how the building was changed over the centuries, and that the most recent ‘alteration’ has been to emphasise its moorish origin. Beautiful architecture and displays. A small gift shop, and a cafe offering a ridiculously cheap menu del dia and some of the best coffee in Spain. And for us oldies, the entrance fee was just a euro! See more..

    - Extraordinary architecture inside and out.

An extraordinary place. A handset guide is included in your entrance fee - but unfortunately it’s the same English narrator who mispronounces so many words; and the same historian who has written so many words, that we are familiar with from so many other cathedral visits in Spain - so much detail about the chapels. However, I am told that the guide for children is really good. Lots of chapels to see, but it’s the main building architecture that is so stunning. Take a look around outside, especially towards the rear. The entrance fee includes the tapestry museum - really not to be missed. On reflection, my advice would be to visit the outside first, then the tapestries before using what energy you have left with the handset and guide to the chapels. See more..

Estación Internacional de Canfranc is the tren station located in the little town called Canfranc near the border between Spain and France, in the Pyrenees. It was built in the beginning of the 20th Century, but it was inaugurated in 1928 and due to the Spanish War and 2nd World War it could not be used until some years after. Really it has a brief, but very interesting history. Also, years after, this place was not used as a very important border point, so the train station was abandoned and bad preserved. Nowadays, it is an impressive building, where you can learn about the history of the region in a guided visit, but only you can see one of the rooms with original furniture, because it was being restored and in a near future converted in a 5* hotel. In fact, nowadays, you can go to Zaragoza from here in a long travel in one of the five or six trains, which arrive there everyday. A hidden gem (an for me an unknown place) in the region. A top building and history! See more..

    - Charming

I found the house by chance due to lack of proper signage. I happened to stop to find myself on a map, when I saw a small sign identifying the house. We were able to see the house exterior only. No indications if it was open to the public at all. See more..
