    My wife and I stopped in this casino for the first time after missing our exit to get back onto the Muskogee Turnpike. Since we had won at the Cherokee Casino in Sallisaw a couple of hours earlier, we decided to try our luck again. I won some money, but my wife lost what she had won at the Sallisaw location. This is a medium-sized casino with around 400 electronic games, as well as a bar & grill. As with other Cherokee nation casinos, there is a free beverage station to self-serve yourself with soda, coffee and tea. The player’s club card is accepted at all of the Cherokee casinos and you earn reward points at any location. We had used our rewards free play earlier at the Sallisaw location. As with all of the Cherokee casino locations, the staff keeps the casino clean. After some of the dirty casinos that I have visited around St. Louis and in Atlantic City, this is much appreciated.     Choctaw in Grant has really stepped up their game. The casino is bright and clean. The games are new and exciting. The remodeling for the hotel has been very nice. The sound system still needs work. Some of the announcements overhead were very jarring and unnerving with how loud it was. Not to mention, that loud you cant understand what is being said.     We have been to this casino several times and continue to enjoy it We made it over to this one in DEC passing up the big casinos, that have really gotten so big they are not worth stopping at This small out of the way casino seldom disappoints us as we usually get a lot of play time or some decent wins.     This Route 66 sight is at the corner of 6th and Rte 66 by Chelsea Family Pharmacy next to the Route 66 sign with directional arrows to different cities. Park, get out, and descend the steps into the pedestrian underpass beneath the street. There are art murals of Oklahoma’s first noncommercial oil well and other Oklahoma historical sites on one side and room for you to leave your mark with a Sharpie or such on other walls.     Pretty fun casino! I managed to turn an 8$ ticket into 800$, so I can't complain! You can bet we took the money and run! The employees are friendly and wish you good luck which is nice. This location also has a bingo area if you'd rather play that! I did notice that a lot of the machines were either down or had something wrong with them or some sort of glitch which was a bit of an inconvenience, but overall we had fun! We had the most luck on the 1$ machines that are right next to the bingo, in between the enchanted blackjack. Gamblers do NOT drink free as some casinos offer but alcoholic drinks are relatively cheap. Be aware that this casino (like other Native American casinos we have visited) charge an ante or fee, for each hand of blackjack or each come-out roll at craps. Other table games have that as well. The antes were 50 cents on 21, and $1 for craps. This is a rip-off, but if you want to play, ya gotta pay the piper. Dealers were low key, helpful if you had a question during play.     Everyone here was so friendly when we explained that we were visiting from out of state...Lots of first-timer goodies loaded on to our play cards, vouchers for free food (which can be combined and so we paid $1 for a brisket dinner), fun games and we left with more money than we spent which was nice!     Since our last visit in 2017 the station has changed quite a bit as it has been for sale now since 2019 according to an article I read. The old vehicles are now gone and the entire place may fall back into history if someone doesn't buy it. Sad to see the difference.     Stopped here for a one night stay while traveling E on I-44 in our RV. Easy access off highway. Arrived late in the day and found plenty of electric/water sites available. Picked site 5 in Eagle Bluff loop and then reserved on line. Site was paved and level with partial shade and picnic table in grass area. Some road and train noise overnight, but we had A/C on due to heat so not an issue. The next day we walked through all campground loops, nice park with great views from bluffs. Used shower-house next to our site and dump station near park office. Facilities are dated but were clean. Map of park/campsites would have been helpful. Maybe available in park office but it was already closed when we arrived. Large boat ramp area across highway at park entrance with a few campsites. Would stop here again and stay longer.     Met the owners and learned they took over the place a few years ago, so if you haven't been there in a while, please meet the new owners and staff. 3 separate sporting clay courses plus skeet and trap. Place was clean and the stations were a good mix of targets. Two of the courses can be easily walked and the third course is for members only. Never did I feel rushed walking the grounds and really enjoyed the grounds. Much like a good hike in the forest. Plenty of parking. Ammo is available, but they did not have an ffl for rental guns or new firearms sales. We stayed in Edmond, OK. Plenty of good places to stay and eat.     We visited on a Tuesday and toured the Museum which was well organized with a brief history of Choctaw , Fort Towson and the Steamboat Heroine. We then went outside to see the ruins which were difficult to see with overgrown weeds. A lawn guy was mowing, but that should be done on Monday since it is closed for tours. Use vegetation killer or weed eat so ruins can be seen. Sign maintenance is required due to mildew obstructing words. Directional signs outdoors would be a great help. Boise City was the only community in the U.S. to be bombed by bombers in WWII. B-17 pilots on a training run mistook their target and dropped a half-dozen dud bombs on the town.     The branch of the Santa Fe Trail that crosses Cimarron County is an old remnant, of course, and grasses have overtaken the trail, erosion softened the ruts, so actually it's easier to see on Google Earth. Still, if you can manage a visit to Signature Rock on private land, but protected by the National Park Service, that is an extra treat. It is along a spring on the trail with a sandstone bluff where travelers on the trail engraved memorials to those who perished on the journey. Very inspiring. See more..

    My wife and I decided to come play Whitehawk after hearing about it through Facebook. We love to take “road trips” and play golf. We drove about an hour and a half to get here and played on a Saturday afternoon around 3pm. We finished our round in under 3:45. We had heard the stories good and bad about the course but left feeling impressed. We had never been here before so we hadn’t seen the course when it was in decline.
