    - Beautiful

    Botanical Gardens (Hortus Botanicus) image
The gardens were gorgeous. We were very lucky to see the Amorphophallus titanum, though it wasn't in flower at that point. They had a beautiful sacred lotus that was in flower and the pond with the koi fish in was beautiful. The upper floor of the greenhouse was gorgeous. The giant lillypads were incredible. There were also lots of benches around if you wanted to sit down and listen to nature. I also really enjoyed looking at their carnivorous plant collection. See more..

    Japanese Garden image
Open usually in May and two weeks in October, the Japanese garden receives more and more visitors each year. Photography and theme photo shoot lovers can't miss the garden in blossom. It's a modest size garden, well curated and looked after. Weekdays visit may be better as on a weekend the place is too busy to have any pleasurable impression and idea of the garden the essence of which- to rejoice with nature in harmony, solitude and silence. 7. 3.5 TU Botanical Garden (101 reviews)
    - Oasis in Delft
    Gardens
    TU Botanical Garden image
We loved this small piece of heaven in Delft. Fair warning: if you don't like to garden, or like to visit gardens, this tour may not be for you. It only cost 4 Euros to visit. There is a medicinal garden, hot houses and a variety of paths with various trees, shrubs and flowers to walk along. All of the signs are in Dutch. It would have been nice to have a few in English. Unfortunately, we toured the garden in between the spring bloom and the summer bloom. I think it would be more spectacular to see the flowers in bloom, but we loved seeing the variety of plants and the relaxing nature of getting away from the crowds of the town. See more..

    PlantenTuin Esveld image
When you visit Boskoop in the Netherlands, you definitely have to come to PlantenTuin Esveld. PlantenTuin Esveld is one of the most well-known nurseries in Boskoop. Our nursery is one of the few in this village that has public access and sells plants to individuals. Come over and strawl along thousands of different species. You can buy plants for your garden or just take a walk through our Japanese maple garden. The Japanese maple garden was founded in 1865 and houses a number of very old beautiful trees. The fairy-tale like location is worth a visit.. and the good news is... it's totally free to walk around the premises. Besides walking there is a possibility to go on boat trips (reservation required, €5 pp) and have coffee, lunch or homemade pastries in our coffee- and teahouse. See more..
  11. 4.5 Park Merwestein (10 reviews)
    - Beautiful park with some less-known heritage
    Tuesday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Spent < 1 hour Parks • Hiking Trails • Gardens
    Park Merwestein image
Interesting about this place is that it started as a private estate to a villa which has been destroyed in WWII. This background explains the old, monumental trees and the botanical diversity of the trees. Without knowing that, it is still a pleasant park for a stroll, or, if you are a tourist, why not buy your lunch in a local supermarket and have it here sitting on the grass? See more..
