   We spent some time exploring the inside of this beautiful church. At the entrance, we were welcomed by an elderly lady who gave us directions and a map of the church. There is also a possibility to go up the tower, but it's paid. See more..

   It took over 50 years to complete the construction of this wonderful gothic style tower. The finishing touch was made in 1517 when the spire was added. Ever since the 67m high tower dominates the city skyline. Note the amazing masonry serving to beautify the appearance of the tower. The adjacent church building is relatively new.     The small Dutch reformed church in Goudswaard dates from 1721. It has a simple rectangular structure with a modest tower. In 2008 the church was thoroughly restored. Goudswaard is a little village of just over 2000 inhabitants in the Southwestern corner of the Hoeksewaard with a strong sense of community.
