We like this library. It is open every day from early morning till nine in the evening. You can sit down and read newspapers, magazines or borrow books or other media. But in the same space there is also a full fledged place to drink or eat called Kruim. It is a very good match. Relaxing welcom and warm atmosphere. Well done Gouda! The building has the weird name 'chocolade fabriek' (Dutch for: chocolate factory). It is in a short walk from the inner city. See more..

What an amazing building/service! I am impressed every time I visit - often with my grandson (resident of Schiedam) in tow, but still overawed with the architecture and transformation of the past building to a functioning local library. You need to visit, just to feel what it's like to have a living (planted) library. Visit for an idea of what libraries can be - intimate, colourful, accessible and connected. Free wifi for travellers; coffee and more for visitors; great facility for locals. See more..

In front of the entrance there is a sign welcoming both members and non-members! Staff is friendly and always willing to assist. You can have a seat and read (international) newspapers and magazines. There is free WiFi and even a coffee machine. At a fee you can use computers with internet and printing option. The registration procedure is simple and straightforward. In my case it took 5 minutes to get me a card. You only pay for use, not for the card. The library is at a central location at Groenmarkt near the statue of de Witt brothers.Two buildings of which one has a beautiful historic facade are linked. The library is in a very central location, in the heart of Gorinchem. You can sit and read and borrow books or other media. When you are in the library you have access to free wifi. The staff is friendly and helpful. Good place to be! A pity that it is not open on Tuesday and Sunday. See more..

Op 4 juli nam ik deel aan het 63e Hollandia Netwerk Evenement van stichting PRET (Promotie Recreatie En Toerisme). In het cultuurhuis genoot ik van een goed verzorgde netwerkborrel met lekkere wijnen en hapjes, Daarna vond de plenaire bijeenkomst plaats in de ruime zaal met een ruim podium, goede geluidsapparatuur en comfortabele stoelen met voldoende beenruimte. Het Cultuurhuis Nieuwe Veste heeft trouwens ook een bibliotheek en theateruitvoeringen. See more..
