De Bogaard had its glory days in the seventies when people would come from surrounding cities like Delft to shop. Then after a big fire it started declining. Currently it is in a somewhat revived state, mostly thanks to the presence of a big Mediamarkt electronics shop and an Albert Heijn XL. Plus many other shops including Hema and McDonalds. It is flanked by the municipality office and a posh new apartments complex in the former tax collectors office. Paid parking galore.See more..

The eight Schiedam windmills are officially the highest classical windmills in the world. The eight mills are surrounding the inner city of Schiedam, and it is easy to walk from one to the other. A must-see for travellers visiting the Rotterdam, Delft and Den Haag area. The Windmill De Walvisch (which is both a museum and a shop) is where most tours start, either by foot or by boat, as there is a tour boat (called the whisper boat) embarking at the entrance of the museum and sails around the canal that surrounds all of Schiedam with a tour guide. The museum is operated by the Jenever Museum (Dutch gin museum) and is currently closed due to Corona. The shop in Walvich offers a wide range of traditional and healthy biological flour products made in windmill De Vrijheid. The Walvich shop is currently open from Wednesday to Saturday.See more..

I was looking for something typically dutch to send to my friends in South Africa and was advised to go here. How come you're not on Tripadvisor yet, I asked and the owner said she opened shop only 2 months ago. What a gem, this shop! Whether you want to buy dutch wine, dutch beers (!! over 120 kinds !!), dutch jenever or gin, or even a dutch whisky....she can't offer you just one, no; there's lots of typical dutch to chose from! Not just dutch though; Tulpglas is a world of drinks at itself with products you don't find elsewhere. Great atmosphere (dutch living room from the fifties) nice warm colors, good music on, a lot of drinks can be tasted, nice shop owner (how many languages does she speak? I heard her talk to english folks, some french businessmen and i'm pretty sure she welcomed some polish people in their own language). Oh and did I mention the 120 kinds of dutch beer??!! See more..
This shop in the center of Leerdam, has beatyfull glasswork. It's difficult to choose a present for someone without buying a present for your own collection. I could'nt only buy a present and left the shop with beatyfull glasswork for me too! The couple in this shop is very polite and willing to inform you. Really a good shop to visit !!See more..
