My 18 y.o daughter and myself did the 2 hr Husky safari, absolutely loved it. We did the shared ride option where you share the driving and riding as a passenger ( as a passenger you can take great photos) was great to experience both. We had two girls in our group who were nervous about driving but staff were very helpful and at the end of the trip both were glad they had a go at driving the sled.. The two hour trip was long enough to get a good feel for the experience as it was very cold but we didn't " freeze" . Staff were very capable and obviously love their dogs (over 200 dogs and they know all by name) Highly recommend the tour, we finished with a warm drink and cake inside a nice warm building with a fire then visited the puppies. We booked our “Snowmobile safari to Husky kennel” tour which was a unique combination of snowmobile safari and Husky ride. Our guide Bruce did an excellent job of guiding us throughout the long 1hr ride to husky kennel and the way back for another hour. He patiently explained initially the mechanism of riding the snowmobile. As we were new to this he placed us at the front of queue and continuously kept an eye on everyone. Husky ride was wonderful 25 mins of excitement followed by lunch. We had requested for a vegetarian option (Sandwich, soup, dessert and coffee) which they accommodated. Highly recommend this safari as it covers both rides in one tour including a delicious lunch which works out much more economical than taking the individual rides.See more..
We really enjoyed our visit to Tundra huskies. We received a very friendly welcome and short but effective safety briefing. The huskies were raring to go and it was really fun both driving and being driven in the sled. We did the 5km trip and it flew by- if you can stand the cold and spare the extra money I would consider going for 10km, especially if that one gives more time on the lake path which was stunning. We loved meeting the dogs after the ride and then warming up in the hut with the berry juice and sausages. Even a couple of reindeer to feed aswell which was a bonus. We all loved our tundra husky experience. Like most activities in Levi it is pricey, but it was hugely memorable and worthwhile.See more..

We did two tours a 6k and 20k with Hetta Huskies and were extremely happy afterwards. Carla is a great guide who visibly loves the dogs. The dogs are well taken care of and seem very happy. They gave us information about the dogs and their life in the arctic and they all know them 'personally' which is quit impressive considering they have 182 dogs. We had a wonderful time!See more..

We were 2 couples. Booked the tour in Ivalo. The day we booked tour, few hours before the scheduled time we got a call from the company and they rescheduled it for next night due to bad weather. But being tourist and limited time we did not trusted their word and went with another tour company the same night. That night it snowed and we did not see the lights. It was too late to realise the mistake, we should have trusted northern light riders. Next night we went them and saw the lights. Our guide made extra efforts for us. We saw the lights on two different spots. First was not too good. But the second spot blew our minds. Amazing experience with dancing green and red lights all over sky. We like this 2 hrs snowmobile activity. Though my son only ride in the sleigh (he is only 5 years old) for safety reason. I went on an excursion looking for the Aurora Borealis in nearby woodland and it was the most exhilarating and wonderful experience. I had been wanting to see them for a long time and they were out in their full glory. The leaders were fantastic throughout the trip. They were very knowledgeable and they made me feel very welcome. This was one of the most special travel experiences we’ve ever had and it’s all due to Tiina and her team at Aurora Holidays (AH). From beginning to end, they were wonderful to work with, handling all of our special requests and details, and we felt extremely welcomed in this special place in the Arctic Circle. Here’s why… Cozy accommodations: Our cottage was amazing. It was spacious, well-supplied, and clean. The beds were very comfortable and plenty of warm bedding was provided. Our favorite part? The sauna of course! We used it every day and loved every minute of it. Delicious meals: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner prepared by AH were always delicious and we were never disappointed. Everything was really good and we were delighted to try new things. Organized logistics: AH was on top of it. They picked us up at the airport and brought us back again when our trip finished. For each special winter excursion, including those special light chasing moments, we traveled via their comfy and warm vans. During each trip, our view from the van was breathtaking – snowcapped trees, sparkling snow, and ice-covered lakes. Amazing activities: We definitely recommend the husky sledding which was exhilarating. Our ride was so much fun as we were led by six amazing dogs through the snow and it’s one of the best things we ever did. Other great things to do include snowshoeing, hanging out with the reindeer, snowmobiling, king-crab adventure, and more! The Sami museum was very good as well. We appreciated our chill days, too, during when we relaxed in the sauna, went for nice walks, and took time to appreciate the beautiful snowy landscape. We were out for the northern light photo tour by bus on a Friday evening. The tour started perfectly as we were told that we were the only participants so we had our private driver and photographer. The weather conditions were great so we didn’t have to go far to see the impressive Aurora Borealis right above our heads. Our guide (Maria) took many photos with her professional camera which we even received in the same night right after the trip. It was an experience we will never forget and would recommend anytime. Notice: nobody can guarantee that you see the Northern lights but we recommend to inform about the geophysical requirements so you can choose the most likely day for your tour.See more..
Truly amazing experience! You really feel connected with nature during this smooth sled ride pulled by 6 (real) huskies, even though they do not look like the ones from the Disney channel as they are bred for their power and stamina, they are so cute and are made to do this. Afterwards we talked a bit with the guide in his wooden cabin with the open fire and you can really feel that he cares about his dogs. Rami and his team were fantastic and very welcoming. It was evident that they cared about their huskies and they were natural hosts which made the whole experience amazing for all of us. The weather on our trip was stunning but absolutely freezing (painfully so) meaning we did not wish for more than the 5km and were really glad to retreat to their hut and camp fires! Visiting a Husky Ranch and riding the sled was just the dream of one of us, but caught us both once we were standing on the sled behind our lovely team of 6 dogs. We didn’t know what to expect, so we were very positively surprised to find ourselves making the dogs ready for our ride - or actually their ride, it felt - and helping Juho with getting ready for the trip. Both Juho and Hanna were super friendly and professional, also the dogs seemed to welcome us most friendly. We think that the dogs can’t have a better place to stay than this farm. First of all, the meeting place at the reindeer farm is located in a beautiful area— a real “middle of nowhere” vibe, in the best possible way. My friend and I did the reindeer/ice fishing/snow-shoeing combo. I didn’t see this trio combined by any other outfitter. Petra, our leader, is a real gem. She’s got a fantastic sense of humor and banters effortlessly with her guests. The entire program was perfect— nothing lasted too short or too long. Everything was just the right amount of time. I had great time in Ivalo. Most of all safaris I like snowmobile riding. That was really cool! If I had it at the beginning of my stay I’d definitely request more of it. Husky safari also was very nice, however, they are not very fast, and in low temperature I couldn’t take for longer than 2 hours. Reindeers are quite slow, but it’s a beautiful experience, too. Snow tank is the best for Aurora hunting, as it’s warm inside and it’s got a glass ceiling, which allows watching the Northern Lights for longer. There’s also skiing, horse riding. No one can get bored there, especially if you like winter and you are not afraid of low temperatures!See more..

Booked 4 excursions with Wilderness Safaris Saariselka. Not disappointed with any! Upon arrival in Saariselka they supplied a snowmobile suit, gloves, boots and a balaclava to use for the whole week. Ice fishing provided no fish but did provide a great experience with snowmobiling, drilling the hole for fishing and enjoying hot juice, hot sandwiches and sausages over an open fire in a comfortable hut. First excursion to view the Northern lights on snowmobiles wsa cloudy and so no lights but still a great adventure on snowmobiles. The other 2 excursions, via a van to a remote lake and snowshoeing did provide great views of the Northern Lights. All the guides spoke great English, provided welcomed hot juices and food and took pictures that we could download. This was very important as my camera did not capture the lights that well. You must have a tripod and a DSLR that allows 30 second exposures at small F Stop values (2.n - 3.n) to take your own successfully.See more..
This is really an unmissable adventure if you are in Finland in the winter. Lauri’s passion for his animals is clear and it is wonderful to just spend time with the huskies even when not sledding. I highly recommend taking a longe trip into Riisitinturi if you can - the change in scenery is breathtaking. Driving a sled is much harder than it looks but great fun to have a go! The dogs are probably used to inexperienced drivers and will see you right! Dress warmly and make sure you cover up with their blanket…. What a great experience. Really enjoyed. We chose this place as it was a local run place that seemed like they really looked after their dogs. And Paulina confirmed this for us during our visit. She was very informative and provided lots of information about the dogs and their routines and their summer plans. It was a thrilling time, being on the sled with the huskies. They provide you with overalls - we wore these over our sallopettes and snow jackets. They also gave us boots and gloves. I would definitely recommend a neck warmer/face covering for this activity as during the husky run, it does get very cold and my eyelashes froze over. Amazing time with wonderful hosts in this winter wonderland! Every day was a different adventure. One day we were sledding, the next taking a husky dogsled ride through a snowy forest and then the next day skiing! We rode snowmobiles, had an open fire lunch near a frozen lake and even fed reindeer (very calm animals!). Truly a one-of-a-kind trip that me and my family will remember forever! We booked the 4 hour Husky tour out of Ivalo hence the husky farm has been moved 40 km up to north. Communication / information on this can be improved.Our guides Martin and Marek explained the way of working with the huskies and the rotation of the dogs for a ride. It was the first ride of the day and the dogs were full of energy. Happy we got warm thermal clothes and shoes from Kamisak with min 20 degrees. The husky ride was awesome! We had a perfect day on the snow mobile I’ve fishing safari with our three children aged 6, 12 and 13. This is a small family run business and it feels very personal, our guide was incredibly friendly and welcoming. It was only the five of us and one couple but this is a small group company and it felt very special. The route for the snowmobiles took us through beautiful forests to the lake and home via the hill view of the sunset. At the lake our host taught us how to drill the ice and fish. He also chatted to our kids while we made a fire on the ice and made us sausages and hot juice. I couldn’t recommend this company more highly.See more..
We started our 3 hour tour meeting in the office next to Holiday Club Saariselkä. We were suited with appropriately warm outer clothing and boots and met our guide. She then drove us to the reindeer farm, where we were introduced to our reindeer Tippy and Purrka(sp?). At our time it was just my husband and I. We each had our own sledge. Tippy, a young reindeer, was very excited and a little over eager to get going. The guide was polite and answered all of our questions. We had hot berry juice and cookies around a fire about half way through our adventure. We ended at the farm where we feed and thanked our reindeer and then enjoyed soup made by the owner, who was so sweet and continued to fill us with more information.See more..

Our guide Erik was brilliant really helpful and patient in getting us ready to drive the snow mobiles, great with our little girl who got a little cold getting her hand warmers sorted so she warmed up quickly, and an excellent guide at the Snow Village having helped build it. The snowmobile ride was great fun, with beautiful scenery, we went at a pace that suited us, and had plenty of time to look around the Snow Village before heading back. None of us had experience skiing, but with the guidance of our guide, Yukka, and countless falls, we gradually got the hang of it. Skiing was truly a workout, never have we felt so warm in freezing temperatures. The activity can be customised to the group’s skiing experience. For our level of experience, we felt the duration of the activity was just right. We also made a pitstop at a husky farm for hot chocolate (payable) and got to see some puppies and sled dogs. (The toilets have no sinks to wash your hands, snow and hand sanitisers were used instead). We ended off the activity with a 400m walk to the carpark, with our skis in tow, and had a nice cup of fruit tea and biscuits in the van. We would like to commend Yukka for his patience and words of encouragement. He made sure everyone had fun while prioritising safety. Overall a very enjoyable experience.See more..

We had such a lovely, interesting & cultural 2-hour visit to Angeli Reindeer Farm in January 2023. Our trip was part of a package organised by our Hotel, there were just 6 of us on the visit & it felt very personal. Anne was very welcoming, spoke excellent English, Finish & Sami & was so knowledgable. We were able to feed some of the reindeer & see them in their natural habitat. Not only did she tell us about the reindeer, herding & how they live, but also a lot about the local nature, the area and Sami culture. It was very thought-provoking. We were welcomed into her home for a hot drink & discussed some more about the local culture, shown traditional boots, pouches & other handicrafts she had cleverly made also. Took a cab (it wasn't cheap) here on recommendation from our hotel to feed the reindeer. It was just fabulous!! The snow was knee deep and so getting to the reindeer was not easy but well worth the trek. They actually came right up to us for food. It was very exciting and the pictures we got are breathtaking. Our trip started at Jerisjärvi and went trough Jerisjoki to Muonio. The route was unkown to us and we are beginners. We got some great info, tips and instructions as well as flexible service. We had an absolutely wonderful day here. We went on a ride and had soup and icecream afterwards. The snack during the ride was great too. The human team were all wonderful but special thanks to Simi and Kati who were beyond kind and friendly. The reindeer were well respected and cared for. I don't have adequate words to describe how magical the ride was. Sometimes you book things and wonder if it will live up to expectations, this surpassed them. We went with a 5 year old who says it was the favorite part of her holiday and I think it would be hugely romantic for couples too. Some tips: seems obvious but arrive a little early for your ride as is takes time to get into the thermal overalls. I would highly recommend hand and toe warmers particularly for children. We did 2 safaris during our stay at the Arctic Fox Igloos - Husky Safari and Snowmobile Safari (both 2 hours). Both were well organized, safe, and so much fun! We were picked up from the Igloos and then dropped off at the end. They give you everything you need to ensure you are comfortable and warm on your safari - boots, snowsuit coveralls, gloves, hat, balaclava, extra socks, etc. The gear is in great shape and they have sizes for everyone. The guides were fantastic - very friendly, funny, and helpful. The Husky ride was my favorite (I love dogs). Me and my partner did the Snowmobiling with Lunch, and it was awesome! We were lucky enough to have the guide to ourselves and it felt like such an amazing personalised experience. The guide showed a clear step by step procedure of how to operate the snowmobile. The route that we took for amazing, so much scenery and opportunity to spot wildlife. The guide would stop every so often to talk about any wildlife tracks or to give information regarding the area. She was very knowledgeable and really made the experience special. We stopped in the cabin by the frozen lake for lunch and had delicious food, warm juice and warmed up by the fire. This was our 2nd time to Powerun. From arriving until the moment we left the whole experience was truly fantastic. We were greeted by Riku who took us to the huskies. We went on a magical 10km ride through breathtaking scenery. Riku then showed us round introducing the dogs and puppies and showing us the kennels and how the dogs are cared for. We sat in a hut with log fire, hot berry juice, gingerbread and pastries and hearing the incredible stories of the races Riku has competed in. All of the dogs are so well looked after that is clear to see. The whole experience was incredible and personal as we were the only group of 7 there. Can’t recommend Powerun enough. We had three amazing days with Rauno and Tomi. I was travelling with my 12 years old son and we both did not have any previous experience of salmon fishing. Even though we did not catch the big fish this time, we gained plenty of experience and especially good memories. Rauno and Tomi really knew the river, all about salmon fishing and were also good company. We stayed at the cabin. It was clean, had kitchenware, small tv, and blankets and sheets were available and comfortable. Relaxing vacation with plenty of fresh air and pure nature around. We walked on a private path and felt like being pushed into the movie of ‚cronicles of Narnia‘. Trees full of snow looking like little creatures, untouched nature , snow glittering like diamonds and pearls. Joona was not tired to look out for northern lights which we finally did. We will be back and would 100 percent again book a tour with pihka . It was an unforgettable awesome experience. See more..
We spent the morning at the snow castle. It was beautiful. Picked up by snowmobile from our hotel and whizzed across the frozen lake to the ice castle. The venue is beautiful and the hosts warm and friendly. We spent an hour looking around and the kids playing, enjoyed a hot drink and then came back by snowmobile sled. Great fun and really reasonably priced.See more..
