We really enjoyed our visit to Tundra huskies. We received a very friendly welcome and short but effective safety briefing. The huskies were raring to go and it was really fun both driving and being driven in the sled. We did the 5km trip and it flew by- if you can stand the cold and spare the extra money I would consider going for 10km, especially if that one gives more time on the lake path which was stunning. We loved meeting the dogs after the ride and then warming up in the hut with the berry juice and sausages. Even a couple of reindeer to feed aswell which was a bonus. We all loved our tundra husky experience. Like most activities in Levi it is pricey, but it was hugely memorable and worthwhile. See more..

We did two tours a 6k and 20k with Hetta Huskies and were extremely happy afterwards. Carla is a great guide who visibly loves the dogs. The dogs are well taken care of and seem very happy. They gave us information about the dogs and their life in the arctic and they all know them 'personally' which is quit impressive considering they have 182 dogs. We had a wonderful time! See more..

It was a great experience! First of all, we had booked for 1th of February but because the sky was so cloudy the company changed the tour for the 2th of the month, which I found really responsible. On 2th the sky was so clear and we went with Ivan, our guide, to a 4.30 hours tour, instead of 3 that the programm was. We saw aurora at all places, but the 4th spot at the end of the tour was the best one and we will never forget it in our lives. We also had berry juice and cookies. We have just done the 4 days/3 nigbts sliding snowshoeing/ski altaï trip in Phya Luosto and came back with full stars in the eyes. We REALLY enjoyed every second of it as everything was planned perfectly. Sampo and Inessa our 2 guides were friendly, kind and very attentive to all our needs. We were not experienced in ski and winter camping but definitely managed to do the trip that was reaching all our expectations. Sampo was so experienced in wilderness surviving and explained lot of very interesting tricks. You have easy walking routes coming to the border and then short and longer snowshoeing trail. About a 25 - 30 minute drive from Saariselkä. Road conditions aren't bad in the winter unless a storm is coming then no one is going anywhere. Easy to find. Best experience we had on our Lapland trip. Dog sledding is super fun, can be challenging, and the dogs were very friendly. This place only accepts 8 ppl max on the tour. We had 7 ppl. Keeping it small makes for a better experience. The guide was super friendly and answered all our questions. We enjoyed it so much we ended up buying up what felt like half their souvenirs. They had Kuplika, beanies, sweaters patches, dog treats. We did the 4hr tour. About 2-3hrs of dog sledding which was optimal for 2 ppl rotating on the sled. I don't think I would have wanted more or less time. Recommend: 4hr Tour 10am to 2pm. The lighting was perfect. See more..

Our family of two adults and two kids (age 5 and 7), truly enjoyed our snowmobile trip on Jan 2nd 2022. We opted for the 30km ride, with a pitstop at a reindeer farm. At the reindeer farm, we had the chance to do a sledge ride, pulled by reindeers. That was a big hit for the kids. At the farm, we also got some hot beverages before driving back towards Levi. The excellent guide had a heated pod connected to his snowmobile, where our kids sat during the ride. The pod was comfortable for the kids and heated in a way that they could sit without glows and so on. My wife and I drove a snowmobile each. It was the first time for both of us, but with the initial guidance from the guide, we found it super easy and comfortable. The overall experience lasted for about four hours. See more..

We went on a trip they advertised to a sacred place of the Sami. The lake and the forest with the rocks and creek with bridge and outlooks were stunning in the snowy condition. It was a rather easy walk uphill on a well maintained path to a Kota on a place with a great view. We had a great guide that told us lots of interesting things about the nature we walked through and made us a great fire with good food and drink. We made arrangements by e-mail which worked very well and you get great value (fun, ride, equipment, guiding and food) for money. This was one of the most special travel experiences we’ve ever had and it’s all due to Tiina and her team at Aurora Holidays (AH). From beginning to end, they were wonderful to work with, handling all of our special requests and details, and we felt extremely welcomed in this special place in the Arctic Circle. Here’s why… Cozy accommodations: Our cottage was amazing. It was spacious, well-supplied, and clean. The beds were very comfortable and plenty of warm bedding was provided. Our favorite part? The sauna of course! We used it every day and loved every minute of it. Delicious meals: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner prepared by AH were always delicious and we were never disappointed. Everything was really good and we were delighted to try new things. Organized logistics: AH was on top of it. They picked us up at the airport and brought us back again when our trip finished. For each special winter excursion, including those special light chasing moments, we traveled via their comfy and warm vans. During each trip, our view from the van was breathtaking – snowcapped trees, sparkling snow, and ice-covered lakes. Amazing activities: We definitely recommend the husky sledding which was exhilarating. Our ride was so much fun as we were led by six amazing dogs through the snow and it’s one of the best things we ever did. Other great things to do include snowshoeing, hanging out with the reindeer, snowmobiling, king-crab adventure, and more! The Sami museum was very good as well. We appreciated our chill days, too, during when we relaxed in the sauna, went for nice walks, and took time to appreciate the beautiful snowy landscape. We did a snowmobile safari in the woods with Kari and it was awesome! He showed us different spots, we stopped several times to take pictures and we also went to a frozen lake. He even brought some tea and biscuits so that we could eat them surrounded by nature. Moreover, we forgot a phone in the pocket of the overall and Kari was so kind that he brought it to our hotel. Having gone on a New Year Adventure Experience with Canterbury travel to Pyha we were looking to add a meeting with Santa to allow our children to thank him for their presents which the travel provider couldn’t help with. Having found them online, Call of the Wilderness did a great job, picking us up from our hotel and setting up a private meeting in a hut in the woods. We were out for the northern light photo tour by bus on a Friday evening. The tour started perfectly as we were told that we were the only participants so we had our private driver and photographer. The weather conditions were great so we didn’t have to go far to see the impressive Aurora Borealis right above our heads. Our guide (Maria) took many photos with her professional camera which we even received in the same night right after the trip. It was an experience we will never forget and would recommend anytime. Wonderful winter wonderland, really unspoilt, lots of skiing, and winter sports tied to local cultures. Friendly populace, English spoken everywhere, mountain was safe if cold at -20C. Sirkka village is at the foot of the ski slopes and walkable end to end in 20 minutes but bustles regardless. Taxis readily available to the local Elf village and we even met Father Christmas despite being early January. And in its white coat and twilight the countryside is breathtakingly beautiful and eerie. Lots to do, slightly expensive for UK travellers but less so if you were from Switzerland. We’ve had a great time just doing the usual tourist trail, night horse ride, skidoos, snow shoeing, etc. but we’d come back for the skiing. See more..

We went to the Zoo during warmer winter days so we were lucky to spot almost all animals. The park is home to ice bear, artic fox, lynx, wolf, owls, Pallas cat, reindeer and many more. You can get to the Zoo by bus from Rovaniemi in less than a hour. There is also Fazer chocolate store in the entrance area. I would recommend you to go in less popular days of week. My 18 y.o daughter and myself did the 2 hr Husky safari, absolutely loved it. We did the shared ride option where you share the driving and riding as a passenger ( as a passenger you can take great photos) was great to experience both. We had two girls in our group who were nervous about driving but staff were very helpful and at the end of the trip both were glad they had a go at driving the sled.. The two hour trip was long enough to get a good feel for the experience as it was very cold but we didn't " freeze" . Staff were very capable and obviously love their dogs (over 200 dogs and they know all by name) Highly recommend the tour, we finished with a warm drink and cake inside a nice warm building with a fire then visited the puppies. We booked our “Snowmobile safari to Husky kennel” tour which was a unique combination of snowmobile safari and Husky ride. Our guide Bruce did an excellent job of guiding us throughout the long 1hr ride to husky kennel and the way back for another hour. He patiently explained initially the mechanism of riding the snowmobile. As we were new to this he placed us at the front of queue and continuously kept an eye on everyone. Husky ride was wonderful 25 mins of excitement followed by lunch. We had requested for a vegetarian option (Sandwich, soup, dessert and coffee) which they accommodated.
