Wonderful winter wonderland, really unspoilt, lots of skiing, and winter sports tied to local cultures. Friendly populace, English spoken everywhere, mountain was safe if cold at -20C. Sirkka village is at the foot of the ski slopes and walkable end to end in 20 minutes but bustles regardless. Taxis readily available to the local Elf village and we even met Father Christmas despite being early January. And in its white coat and twilight the countryside is breathtakingly beautiful and eerie. Lots to do, slightly expensive for UK travellers but less so if you were from Switzerland. We’ve had a great time just doing the usual tourist trail, night horse ride, skidoos, snow shoeing, etc. but we’d come back for the skiing.See more..

We have just done the 4 days/3 nigbts sliding snowshoeing/ski altaï trip in Phya Luosto and came back with full stars in the eyes. We REALLY enjoyed every second of it as everything was planned perfectly. Sampo and Inessa our 2 guides were friendly, kind and very attentive to all our needs. We were not experienced in ski and winter camping but definitely managed to do the trip that was reaching all our expectations. Sampo was so experienced in wilderness surviving and explained lot of very interesting tricks. We HIGHLY recommended this trip if you want to experienced something unique and more than just a touristic tour. Our family of two adults and two kids (age 5 and 7), truly enjoyed our snowmobile trip on Jan 2nd 2022. We opted for the 30km ride, with a pitstop at a reindeer farm. At the reindeer farm, we had the chance to do a sledge ride, pulled by reindeers. That was a big hit for the kids. At the farm, we also got some hot beverages before driving back towards Levi. The excellent guide had a heated pod connected to his snowmobile, where our kids sat during the ride. The pod was comfortable for the kids and heated in a way that they could sit without glows and so on. My wife and I drove a snowmobile each. It was the first time for both of us, but with the initial guidance from the guide, we found it super easy and comfortable. The overall experience lasted for about four hours.See more..

We had a perfect day on the snow mobile I’ve fishing safari with our three children aged 6, 12 and 13. This is a small family run business and it feels very personal, our guide was incredibly friendly and welcoming. It was only the five of us and one couple but this is a small group company and it felt very special. The route for the snowmobiles took us through beautiful forests to the lake and home via the hill view of the sunset. At the lake our host taught us how to drill the ice and fish. He also chatted to our kids while we made a fire on the ice and made us sausages and hot juice. I couldn’t recommend this company more highly.See more..

We had an amazing family adventure on a snowmobile safari to the Snow Village. Our guide Erik was brilliant really helpful and patient in getting us ready to drive the snow mobiles, great with our little girl who got a little cold getting her hand warmers sorted so she warmed up quickly, and an excellent guide at the Snow Village having helped build it. The snowmobile ride was great fun, with beautiful scenery, we went at a pace that suited us, and had plenty of time to look around the Snow Village before heading back. Our family had a spectacular easter friday outside in lovely weather with Hannu and Reetta. We had some warm drinks, cold drinks and sausages next to the fire. Our toddler had a fun time with their young one while we enjoyed the views and serenity of the nature. Hannu also showed us kite flying which im sure to try next time with skis or a snowboard. We had a wonderful 2-hour tour with Juuso. We both have mountainbiking experience but this was our first time riding in the snow. We really enjoyed it! The trails were great and so was our guide. Trails were not technical (at least not in the conditions we encountered them, relatively hard with fresh snow from the night before) but certainly scenic and enjoyable. I did not have any pre booking done and just walked in to the LuontoLoma Pro Safaris office near by our accommodation. Service was really good and helpful. They managed to provide bicycles and kayaks and canoe for two adults and two kids. Bicycles were in top quality, one electric fat bike and three full suspension bicycles. We did cycling trip in a one day around Saariselkä and then canoe trip in another day in Lutto river. Lutto river nature, trip and rapids were really nice and manageable. We booked a snowmobile tour during the day. It was a great journey in the middle of the wilderness. We got to 600mt on the hills behind Sallatunturi and the scenery was breathtaking. The tour was 3 hours long with many small break along the way where the tour guides made sure everybody was fine with driving and vehicle. We had the opportunity to take many pictures about snowy trees and the shapes the snow and ice can produced are unbelievable. Looks like to be in an enchanted, sleepy woods where all creatures and trees are sleeping. We then stop by around the fire for a 30 min break. The guides offered us a hot Chocholate, tea or coffee plus a warm sandwiches. Before leaving on the snowmobile overalls, boots, warm hats are provided in case you want to feel warmer. In our cases we were at -16 during the day. So additional layers was needed. We travelled with our daughters: 5 and 7. For them a covered trailers has been arranged. So they really did not feel cold and enjoyed the experience. Overall we really recommend this tour: professional, long, safe and the scenery was amazing. One only point of improvement: The guides could be more talkative and providing a few information about the place, the animals, any story they could share to entertain.
