It was a great experience! First of all, we had booked for 1th of February but because the sky was so cloudy the company changed the tour for the 2th of the month, which I found really responsible. On 2th the sky was so clear and we went with Ivan, our guide, to a 4.30 hours tour, instead of 3 that the programm was. We saw aurora at all places, but the 4th spot at the end of the tour was the best one and we will never forget it in our lives. We also had berry juice and cookies. We have just done the 4 days/3 nigbts sliding snowshoeing/ski altaï trip in Phya Luosto and came back with full stars in the eyes. We REALLY enjoyed every second of it as everything was planned perfectly. Sampo and Inessa our 2 guides were friendly, kind and very attentive to all our needs. We were not experienced in ski and winter camping but definitely managed to do the trip that was reaching all our expectations. Sampo was so experienced in wilderness surviving and explained lot of very interesting tricks. We HIGHLY recommended this trip if you want to experienced something unique and more than just a touristic tour. Couple of weeks ago we’ve been snowshoeing for the first time in life in a tour organized by Adventure by Design to Tsahkal lake. And everything was perfect from the very beginning to the end. Our guide was friendly and thoughtful, the lunch in the wilderness hut just perfect, and Gareth kept a relaxed atmosphere with nice talks and jokes on the way up to Tsahkal. The snow shoeing itself was wonderful, we also had the luck of having a sunny day so the view was really breathtaking. On the way back, we experienced a silent walk, a more than welcomed meditation. Funny thing, 20 m away from the final point back, I realized how right was Gareth at the beginning when he said that everybody falls once . Thank you Adventure by Design for this great experience! Erwan was a great guide. You can tell he has a lot passion and great knowledge about the nature in Lapland. He was very adaptive and chose the perfect route for my very first snow shoeing hiking. The nature he showed me through the tour was absolutely stunning. It was definitely the highlight of my trip and I highly recommend his tours for anyone interested in exploring the natures in Kittilä.See more..
None of us had experience skiing, but with the guidance of our guide, Yukka, and countless falls, we gradually got the hang of it. Skiing was truly a workout, never have we felt so warm in freezing temperatures. The activity can be customised to the group’s skiing experience. For our level of experience, we felt the duration of the activity was just right. We also made a pitstop at a husky farm for hot chocolate (payable) and got to see some puppies and sled dogs. (The toilets have no sinks to wash your hands, snow and hand sanitisers were used instead). We ended off the activity with a 400m walk to the carpark, with our skis in tow, and had a nice cup of fruit tea and biscuits in the van. We would like to commend Yukka for his patience and words of encouragement. He made sure everyone had fun while prioritising safety. Overall a very enjoyable experience.See more..
Me and my partner did the Snowmobiling with Lunch, and it was awesome! We were lucky enough to have the guide to ourselves and it felt like such an amazing personalised experience. The guide showed a clear step by step procedure of how to operate the snowmobile. The route that we took for amazing, so much scenery and opportunity to spot wildlife. The guide would stop every so often to talk about any wildlife tracks or to give information regarding the area. She was very knowledgeable and really made the experience special. We stopped in the cabin by the frozen lake for lunch and had delicious food, warm juice and warmed up by the fire. For the price you pay it is definitely worth it as this experience was far better than the big groups the other snowmobiling companies go out with. Would definitely recommend.See more..
Husky safari,northern lights hunting,gold panning, meeting Santa. Everything perfect and unique. You must visit Laponia at least once in this life especially for kids. 3 nights are not enough to enjoy everything however we had fun in our short holiday thanks to our programme provided by Lappitrip. The best adventure break you could wish to go on. The sidetrack team is a handful of people keen to show off the delights of Finland in winter. We had Chris for the week, a guide full of knowledge and skills perfect for the activities we did during the action packed week. We visited on 29 Feb 2020. Even though cloud cover was less as per the app we were following but the KP index was just 3. We were skeptic about seeing the lights. Also the charges for the trip for Northern Light Riders were way higher as compared to other trip providers. However, there website content and what they had written showed a lot of dedication and seemed promising so we chose to take their 4 hour minivan trip and we are really proud of our decision. We were picked up at 7:30 from our place by Timmo. The mini van had a capacity of 12 people. Few people were picked after us. We then were taken to their office somewhere in Inari where we were given proper dressing. We finally started from there at 8:30 around. First went to lake Inari and stopped as northern lights were visible. The first view of northern lights was disappointing and we moved from there. For our second view we literally stopped on road side. Now the lights were visible. We took pictures. Timmo stopped again when he saw a better view of lights compared to earlier and gave us hot berry drink. We clicked pictures again. We taught this was the end of the hunt but the best was yet to come. He started dropping the passengers and after first drop he stopped on roadside and this was it. The most b'ful show, this time lights were visible to the fullest, green and red and pink. It lasted 7-10 mins. We were overwhelmed. Summary: You get pics clicked by guide's better camera, Timmo was cordial and dedicated, clicked lot of pictures, they stop wherever they can to show you a better view. We stopped 4 times, reached our drop point at 12 a.m. which was close to 5 hour trip. They might be expensive but we found it worth the trip.See more..

I found Sea Song Travel Agency pretty much by accident on line when looking for a company that could work with me following the end of our Orient Express Trip from Paris to Istanbul in August 2022 (see separate review), We had been in Turkey many times but had never made it to Cappadocia which I had always wanted to visit. On pure faith I worked with Sea Song via email for many months and they were FANTASTIC!!! I traveled to northern Finland with Travel with TJD and not only had an amazing experience hunting for the northern lights but met some even more amazing people along the way. Michelle and Dennis do a wonderful job of curating really interesting and not so “typical” trips to some really cool places. They also happen to be even cooler people which helps bring people together. I enjoyed my first trip so much that I joined them three months later for a sail trip in the Arctic circle in Tromso, Norway!
