First time snow shoeing
Couple of weeks ago we’ve been snowshoeing for the first time in life in a tour organized by Adventure by Design to Tsahkal lake. And everything was perfect from the very beginning to the end. Our guide was friendly and thoughtful, the lunch in the wilderness hut just perfect, and Gareth kept a relaxed atmosphere with nice talks and jokes on the way up to Tsahkal. The snow shoeing itself was wonderful, we also had the luck of having a sunny day so the view was really breathtaking. On the way back, we experienced a silent walk, a more than welcomed meditation. Funny thing, 20 m away from the final point back, I realized how right was Gareth at the beginning when he said that everybody falls once . Thank you Adventure by Design for this great experience! Highly recommend them for your activities in Kilpisjarvi, they do an amazing job!

Amazing
When you have a really good experience, you are always a little bit jealous to share it, because you want to keep t for yourself, like if it was a secret. This Is the right introduction that means that we really had a good time with them. We booked one day of cross country ski and we finished the day asking if it would be possible to do another day, so we did two day of ski and it was just amazing. This is the perfect place for you, if you are looking for quality and not quantity. They care about people and make feel people at home and welcomed. We spent two days with our guides, Amada and Jacco, they taught us how to ski and we talked with them, we shared stories, we learned a lot about wildlife and the environment. Thank you for this amazing ending of our holiday! We strongly recommend this place!

A true winter adventure
I really can’t recommend Gareth and his team at Adventure by Design highly enough. Our party of 4 travelled with Gareth for 10 days in Jan/Feb 2020; we crossed country skied with our gear on sledges for a week, staying in mountain huts followed by an exhilarating two day husky ride. Gareth’s pre trip planning and his attention to detail on the trip itself was spot on. We felt safe whilst being out of our comfort zones and truly privileged to be part of the stunning lapland winter landscape. Gareth is passionate about his work as a guide and having been on many guided adventure trips over the years, recognise in Gareth an exemplary individual. Adventure by Design treated us to a truly fantastic, bespoke, trip that felt far removed from a tourist excursion. It was “Adventure by Design”. Thank you Gareth and team.
