- 4.5 Shenzhen Metro (282 reviews)
-Nice Clean Metro
Public Transportation Systems
The stations are well designed and it has been very quick to get around the city during our stay. We also liked the digital displays and clear instructions on most trains. We had plenty of room to sit on most trains throughout the day. It seems that metro cards and tokens are not being used and we had to use WeChat to use a mini program for the metro. Please note that they will ask for water bottles to be removed at many stations for inspection. We came into Shenzhen by train from Guangzhou and expected to get a 3 day pass or a card but they were not available. We ended going through a queue and stood near the x-ray machines setting up the mini program for ourselves. This only charges for each ride and the QR code must be scanned when entering and leaving metro areas. The QR code attached to this review will allow you to sign up for one prior to a trip to Shenzhen. See more..

I am pretty sure you can make a rocket even without a problem. If you are a normal consumer, also no problem to find all electronics devices there, like mobiles, TVs, Cameras, Charges, cables, .... and many other thousands gadgets. I did not count the mega malls there, min one day can be reserved for this place. One important tip, keep in mind that all Chinese brands are more secure to be genuine. All international brands like Apple and Samsung are more probable to be a copy, so take care. I suggest to buy a Chinese brand instead. See more..

- 4.5 Shaoguan Danxia Mountain Geopark (241 reviews)
-My favorite part of our trip to China this time
Mountains
Beautiful mountains with interesting rock formations. Worth seeing both sides. Unbelievably breathtaking views. Some parts of the climb up (and down) are very challenging. Not for everyone. In some places, incredibly steep but so worth the scary moments. Concessions along the way in several places. Can't imagine how they transport the concessions! Got up to see the sunrise on the second day but unfortunately, too hazy/cloudy so that didn't happen...but it was a fun hike nontheless with beautiful views different from the other side of the mountain. Much less strenuous hike to see the sunrise. Definitely take the cable car. Otherwise, make sure you have a very good flashlight! See more..

- 4.0 Kingkey 100 (232 reviews)
-11/10
Points of Interest & Landmarks
I booked the restaurant and notified them a week before going on the 19th of April to celebrate my 21st, when asked how many people the reservation was for I replied with 1 as my family couldn’t come out to meet me due to the pandemic. Upon arriving at meal I was treated by extremely polite staff whom gave me a tour of the 96th floor giving me 360 views of Shenzhen and neighbouring Hong Kong. When arriving in the restaurant they showed me all the food items I could / couldn’t eat due to my allergies. The waiters were all extremely polite and the food was exquisite. The menu was amazing! Lots of fresh seafood caught locally, traditional Chinese hot pot and many more To top the night off, the restaurant had prepared me an amazing home made chocolate mouse and orange cake accompanied with free champagne to celebrate my birthday with. It was easily the best meal I’ve had in China in close to a year and with incredible views of the city aswell, a must go to! See more..

- 4.5 Shenzhen Bay Park (217 reviews)
-Great......when it's quiet
Parks
Shenzhen bay park is a wonderful oasis in the middle of a bustling city................providing you do not go there on a weekend or a public holiday. I have done both. During the week, it is a wonderfully attractive waterfront park with the possibility to walk for many kilometres. Ample places to take nice pictures of flowers, trees, birds etc, and well built hills protect you from most of the noise from the nearby roads. However, if you go during the weekend, or even worse on a public holiday, once you have managed to get onto a pathway, be prepared to shuffle at the speed of the crowd! Nightime views of both the city of Shenzhen and distant Hong Kong are wonderful. See more..

- 4.0 Zhuhai Wanzai Seafood Street (202 reviews)
-Cheap and Good
Thursday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Neighborhoods
The seafood at this place is really cheap and good. It's better to go in a group so that can buy more to share. It's cheaper to go there for lunch and also it's not so crowded. In the evening especially during the weekend they will charge a higher price. We went there for lunch during a weekday. I paid RMB$4 for each baby abalone and I bought 10 pieces. The scallop is not worth it because the shell is very big but the scallop is like a Singapore twenty cent coin and I paid RMB$12 each. The bamboo clams are also very cheap. RMB$35 per kati which is equivalent to 500gm. Please remember to bargain. There were only 2 of us and it was too much for us. The cooking fees vary with the style you want them to cook but it's average RMB$20-25 per dish. See more..

At the 2018 Global Tea Fair held at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Centre (Futian District), I learned a lot about the many different types of tea. I also got to taste all kinds of tea. - 4.5 Southern China Botanical Garden (191 reviews)
-Good Garden Visit
Thursday: 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM Parks
The gardens had a great variety of plants and there were many different areas. The gate is closest to the Botanical Garden station (not changban) and it is quite crowded near the gate area. The further you go in the less people there are. We enjoyed the quietness of the bamboo area. The ticket cost is 20 RMB for just the gardens and 50 for gardens + greenhouse area. The extra cost for the greenhouses are easily justified. Expect to spend 2 hours walking through all the garden areas and about an hour in the greenhouse. We would recommend bringing a bottle of water and a light snack as the only options we saw were due to a CNY festival. Many signs are in English and well translated. Very clear path markers on the main paths and the gardens are very easy to navigate. See more..
