We enjoyed our day out on a rather wet day, but we didn't mind the rain at all as the weather was quite pleasant. The lake is really huge and quite historic. There are several places to see, including the Pagoda, a small hill, crocodile island etc. A nice place to spend a few hours exploring.See more..

4.0West Lake(30 reviews) - A heavenly place Bodies of Water
Beautiful, peaceful, still-water, lake area, home to ancient Chinese architecture. Refreshing breeze coming off the lake. See more..
The wearther in April turned out to be warmer than we thought -- the endless beach, silk-like water and tranquility made our brief visit perfect and memorable. Choice of hotel is limited but we chose to stay at the home rental at one of the largest property development there (Precious Coast). The room is perfect and the price is a great bargain. More importantly, the harmony of the tidal waves made our stay truly unforgettable. We will definitely return again in the summer. See more..
4.5Dinghu Lake(23 reviews) - The Great Oxygen Bar Saturday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Bodies of Water
Guangdong’s most beautiful, calm, dark-green water, and peaceful lake. This is a conservation area and very scenic. The lake is surrounded by magnificent and abundant colourful flora, fauna, mountains, and the sound of birds from the forest areas. We very much enjoyed our boat ride on the peaceful waters and through the refreshing air. See more..
4.0Qing'ao Bay(14 reviews) - Beautiful beach Saturday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Bodies of Water
This is a beautiful beach on the eastern coast of Nan'ao Island. It's clean and setting is lovely. There is a statue here to mark where the Tropic of Cancer crosses the island. You can get here on a 601 or 602 bus, both pass through regularly. The area is being developed and there's a huge number of apartments that are probably only used by tourists. It's a lovely place. 4.0Yangxi Moon Bay(14 reviews) - Good place to spend your vacation Saturday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Bodies of Water
As a new star in southwest canton in trems of sea shore travel spot, it really impresses you with its long soft, wild, white beach crawling with light blue clear sea water. Wearing a piece of sun glasses under a shelter, you definately will enjoy the scenery ahead of you with 10 miles long silk beach. Swimming, diving and even surfing give you great experience. In all, its a highly recommended place to kick off your summer day. See more..
4.0Hanjiang River(13 reviews) - A Pontoon Bridge Built Every Day Saturday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Bodies of Water
This approximately 800m bridge is famous and considered a national heritage within China. At 10.30am every day; the centre of the bridge is reconstructed using a large number of supporting boats underneath. It is a feat and toil of human engineering that this happens - so a great idea is to arrive say at about 10am and see them put the final 30 mins of finishing touches before the human wave throngs across. The bridge is taken apart in the late afternoon so that sizeable boats / ships can cut across. And this is no ordinary bridge - just take a look at the photos. There are rest stops every 20 metres or so, and a stop along any of these stops is met with a breezy carefree experience. Many years ago there used to be lots of vendors plying a living setting up stalls on either side of the bridge; but the government soon cleaned them up and now it's just a peaceful, beautiful work across.See more..
3.5Xianqiao Underground River(8 reviews) - Undiscovered Geopark Saturday: 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM Bodies of Water
I would say the boat trip was full of surprises, we knew nothing about this until we were ushered to enter the park by the local friends. As we walked in, we passed by the 8-fairy sculpture, it’s beautifully crafted. The path led us to another entrance, where we’re handed with safety jackets, we were told that the entrance ticket entitled us to take boat rides to see the limestone cave through the underground river. I would say very huge, deep, natural limestone cave and it’s beautiful. Clear, crystal green, cool river water, picturesque views, which is a nice place to explore. The most unfortunate thing throughout the trip is the local tourists and boatmen keep spitting into the river... I wonder how long can they upkeep and preserved this beautiful place.See more..

The hike from Fenghuang town to the Tian Chi Scenic Area is long, about 20km and takes about 4-5 hours. It's a good hike but don't carry too much and bring enough water to last you. There's a few nice scenic spots on the way up and don't be afraid to venture off the road a bit for a better look at something. Not all the best views can be seen right on the road. Once at the top you can pitch a tent and stay the night, have a fire, eat, relax, and enjoy yourself (not much else to do up there at night). If you stay the night make sure you get there before sundown so you can set up your tent because there's no light up there at all. If you're lucky you'll have good weather in the morning and get a nice sunrise and a chance for some nice photos. Be sure to bring some clothes for cool weather. I was on the mountaintop on 27 Sep and at night it cooled down to about 6-7C and was pretty windy. Morning was perfect, warmed up, no wind and fairly clear skies. If you want to see a place that most foreigners will never visit, then Fenghuang is a good place to come and enjoy yourself.See more..
3.5Qishi River(3 reviews) - Intersting drive Saturday: 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM Bodies of Water
An interesting drive from Sihui but the destination was nothing special. The river runs over rocks and down the hill through a hydo power station. When there, the road was being re- constructed and we had to walk a short distance through mud. Apparently it is to be done up as a tourist attraction. Hopefully something is done about rubbish that the locals throw in the river.See more..
Just loved this trip. Scenery is fantastic and the ride in the sampan was super.Chance to take lots of fabulous photos. Did find the driver of the sampan did ask for about 5 Yuan for a couple before you left the sanpan. The cost of the journey was 120 YuanSee more..
We hired a taxi to take us to the the road to the dam wall. The walk was easy as it is on a sloping road to the dam wall (30mins at a brisk pace). We then walked down the steps beside the dam wall to the hydro power station. The the flat road beside the river takes you to the starting point. Near the lovely fish restaurants We allowed an hour for the walk but better to be more leisurely.See more..

3.0Mt.Tan Sky Lake(1 review) - Rainy & Windy Visit Saturday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Bodies of Water
Went in Oct 2017. It was raining and windy, not the best time to visit. Only went to one of the docks and had a lookout at the "lake". In truth, it is a reservoir. A pretty large one where you can take a boat ride out. That view may have been more impressive than standing on the shore. I don't think it's worth the mountain twisty (and dangerous) drive just to see this reservoir. Perhaps on a sunnier day.See more..
