4.5Shenzhen Bay Park(217 reviews) - Great......when it's quiet Parks
Shenzhen bay park is a wonderful oasis in the middle of a bustling city................providing you do not go there on a weekend or a public holiday. I have done both. During the week, it is a wonderfully attractive waterfront park with the possibility to walk for many kilometres. Ample places to take nice pictures of flowers, trees, birds etc, and well built hills protect you from most of the noise from the nearby roads. However, if you go during the weekend, or even worse on a public holiday, once you have managed to get onto a pathway, be prepared to shuffle at the speed of the crowd! Nightime views of both the city of Shenzhen and distant Hong Kong are wonderful.See more..
4.0Seven Star Crags (Qixing Yan)(200 reviews) - Beautiful scenery & hazy skies Friday: 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM National Parks • Caverns & Caves
Dominated by spectacular limestone peaks, this is a large lake area with lots of caves and underground rivers.See more..
The gardens had a great variety of plants and there were many different areas. The gate is closest to the Botanical Garden station (not changban) and it is quite crowded near the gate area. The further you go in the less people there are. We enjoyed the quietness of the bamboo area. The ticket cost is 20 RMB for just the gardens and 50 for gardens + greenhouse area. The extra cost for the greenhouses are easily justified. Expect to spend 2 hours walking through all the garden areas and about an hour in the greenhouse. We would recommend bringing a bottle of water and a light snack as the only options we saw were due to a CNY festival. Many signs are in English and well translated. Very clear path markers on the main paths and the gardens are very easy to navigate.See more..

4.5Qifeng Park(129 reviews) - Incredible at Night! Bats flying around, giant snails, and mysterious temples await! Friday: 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM Parks
Qifeng Park is located right down the street where we live at the Green Return Garden in DongCheng. This park is INCREDIBLE and I feel like I'm Indiana Jones every time my family and I enter this jungle of a park! At night bats swoop down from the trees to catch mosquitos. After it rains you can find ENORMOUS snails slithering about. You an feed bright orange and yellow koi fish at the huge pond. There is a HUGE temple straight out of some Kung Fu Movie. We even found a SECOND temple complex hidden on one of the side roads that has a HUGE reclining Buddha like in Bangkok!!!! The Red Lantern at the top of the hill is incredible. This park has it all. It's like exploring ancient temples in a jungle.See more..

4.5Zhujiang Park(100 reviews) - Beautiful oasis of lush-greenery Friday: 7:00 AM - 9:30 PM Parks
This 22-hectare park is great place to temporarily get away from big city life. It is a very well-maintained garden-park. There are many gardeners busy working throughout the park. In the Ornamental Forest Zone, there is a nice flowing waterfalls, and about 200 metres away, an odd shaped lake. There are many benches scattered throughout the park. Sit and enjoy the oxygen rich fresh air, the sounds of the forest, and relax amid the lush greenery. This multi-section park has at least three sets of very clean, large washrooms. See more..

4.0Huguangyan Scenic Area(70 reviews) - Sunday bike trip Friday: 6:30 AM - 6:30 PM National Parks • Geologic Formations
Went out for a bikerun on Sunday, and decided to go up to Huguangyan Scenic Area, about 24 km from Wanda where I am staying. The area is very nice, and worth the trip. A nice walk around (7,5 km) the lake. The scenery is beautiful, but shows sign of lacking maintenance if you look abit outside the walk path. Many places to eat and many good clean toilets, so in general a good place. Would benefit all if more info signs translated to English. There is a few caves, but they are for unknown reason closed of ( maintenance?, or lack of?) The entrance fee is 50 RMB For a Sunday trip, it is nice, and if you go by bicycle it is recommended to follow the country road from town, then you are only exposed to the highway for a few km. Enjoy See more..

4.5Mt. Shunfeng Park(54 reviews) - You must visit for an hour of two and peacefully unwind....! Friday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Parks
It's a lovely park and a good place to escape from the sprawling urban areas of Shunde District - a must-see attraction. There's free admission - a lake surrounded by traditional style Chinese pavilions and the hill-side Baolin temple (West gate). There's a massive archway at the entrance of the park (not far from the Shunde Marriott Hotel). You can rent bicycles, some tandem and some for three riders and the whole family. Boats can be rented on the lake. In the evening you can watch Chinese people gather for Tai Chi, dancing, keep fit and rollerblading. After dusk the area is flood lit and if you do happen to be staying at one of the nearby hotels there are great views to be had from high. In summary, a lovely place to visit but watch out for the sun as there is little shade in places. We also got bitten so please take your Deet.See more..
4.0Zhongshan Park(52 reviews) - A park for the locals Friday: 6:30 AM - 9:30 PM Parks
I was brought here by my relatives living in Shantou area. It is a large and nice park frequented by the locals who usually visit with family members. There is a theme park, lakeside garden and zoo. We arrived in the afternoon and already there were many people unlike in my own country where the park is deserted due to the heat and humidity,. Here, it is different and people can be seen jogging at 2.00pm!See more..
A scary cable car ride up to the top of Mt. Jingshan park (also known as Mt. Shijing Park). Panoramic views of the Zhuhai city, coastline, the bridge, some islands and the Opera House. You can walk to the top of the mountain if you wish!See more..
We hired a taxi from Heyuan to take us the 6km to the lake. We arrived for one of the first boats at 10am. The taxi returned at 12.30. You can buy a day ticket without time restriction, to be dropped off by boat at locations around the lake edge, or you can buy a cheaper ticket and have an allotted time at each location. As we visited mid week, we had the boat to ourselves and so the driver fitted in with our times. Although there were no crowds, we missed some of the activities that were only on weekends. Each location had something different to offer. See the photos The lake is amazing as it supplies fresh water for 40 million people.See more..

Locals tell me it takes about four hours to walk around the perimeter of both parks. There would be plenty to see along the way.See more..

4.0Chang'an Park(32 reviews) - Nice Climb to a Pagoda! Friday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Parks
Chang’an Park had an epic entrance gate in traditional Chinese style. It’s huge! Immediately upon entering the park from the little convenient store on the side you will see the steep stairs leading up to a huge Chinese pagoda on top of the hill. There are lots of steps but worth the climb. The view at the top is amazing. You can see a huge mountain with some other distant temple on the side. Anybody know that that is on the mountain that is visible from the pagoda at the top of Chang’an Park? Anyway I recommend visiting. It’s a quick hike up and a nice view. Very photogenic place!See more..

Lying on the northern bank of Tanjiang River, Chikan is featured with western buildings, on the southern bank is the beautiful countryside. Chikan is the notable homeland of overseas Chinese so that the constructions blended the western and eastern styles. Wandering around the town is like stepping back to the life of 1980s. 3.5Lost City(25 reviews) - Don't bother if you weigh more than 70kg Friday: 10:00 AM - 9:00 PM Water Parks
The park has a fair number of slides, some look better than others but many have a 70kg/155 lb weight limit (and they will weigh you and send you away!) my hubby is 6ft and they only let him on a couple of slides. They will also not let you down if you have a zip on the back of your shorts. I suppose it is nice that they were safety conscious in this way but we've never come across so many restrictions and it spoiled our day. The slide that looks like a toilet bowl looked very dangerous and people kept hitting their head on the way round. You need to pay for a ring and people will steal them when you're not looking. Pretty rubbish for larger people!See more..
