4.5Zhujiang New Town(387 reviews) - Modern Area with All the Sights Friday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Architectural Buildings
Zhujiang New Town is central to most of the major sights in Guangzhou like the Canton Tower, Guangzhou Opera House, Guangdong Museum, IFC building and the East Tower. There are many restaurants nearby which will offer fantastic views of the area. The area is also very well served by the metro and shopping malls. A visit to Guangzhou would be incomplete if you missed this area. The area plays host to many festivals and celebrations like the GZ International Light Festival, Chinese National Week and Chinese New Year. The area is ever changing. We find ourselves here at least once a month for dinner with friends or a weekend trip into the city.See more..

It is a very beautiful opera house, both inside and out. But when will they have Beijing opera and Sichuan/Chengdu quick mask changing performances? Guangzhou has the facilities, but not the shows. 4.5OCT HARBOUR(272 reviews) - Pleasant place to explore Spent 2-3 hours Architectural Buildings • Scenic Walking Areas

4.0Dongguan Park(74 reviews) - One of the best sites of its type I have seen in China! Architectural Buildings
This place is usually called Ke Yuan Garden. The entrance and ticket office are small and hard to find. The taxi driver dropped me off around the corner from the entrance to the garden. In this area there are a number of art museums and craft workshops. Ke Yuan Garden features buildings from the Qing Dynasty (1850), and they have been beautifully restored. The garden is a short distance from the Wanda Plaza, a taxi ride from there should cost about 20RMB to 30RMB. If you are only in Dongguan for a short time, this is one place you should not miss.See more..
The site is reachable by bus 617 from Kaiping city centre (one every 20 mins or so), the journey is about 40 mins. Taxi will cost you around 65yuan. We bought the combo admission costing 150yuan per person, it gave us access to Zili village and the nearly Li Yuan. Shuttle bus between the sites was included in the price of the ticket (check the bus timetable at the entrance). Zili village was a fascinating place to visit, full of culture and history. We had a great time exploring the different towers. The villagers were friendly and welcoming. Many of the smaller buildings offered lunches (around 20-30 yuan per dish), overlooking the lotus pond. We'd have loved to eaten there but unfortunately we had a tight schedule and had to catch the shuttle to Li Yuan.See more..
4.0Kaiping Garden(51 reviews) - Do visit as part of Kaiping Diaolous trip ... Friday: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM Architectural Buildings
This place has quite a history and some of the representative watch towers of the region. However, strangely, it is not part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Nonetheless, definitely should be part of the visit to the area.See more..
3.5Bird Paradise(47 reviews) - Above average quiet bird sanctuary/park Friday: 7:30 AM - 7:00 PM Architectural Buildings
Was very pleasantly quiet when I visited with few people there, though with more visitors I can see this place not being quite as pleasant. Nice park with paved paths make for a pleasant walk. There seems to be an abandoned and overgrown school on the premises, with part of it being used as an observation desk type room, and other room being used as a mini museum/gift shop. Key focal point of the Paradise is an ancient tree that resembles a small island. A short boat tour is given with a Chinese-language-only audio track. Some beautiful herons to be seen, though only in quick glimpses as the boat seems to speed by them. In the big picture this is probably good as to not disturb the birds.See more..
4.0Ma-Xianglong Towers Group(44 reviews) - A lovely stroll away from tour groups. Architectural Buildings
This small cluster of dialou is a bit off the main circuit, so you will need to have your own transport to get here. The upside, though, is a welcome break from tour groups. There are some fruit orchards and gardens in the spaces between each diaolou, and makes for a pleasant walk. Allow yourself about 2 hours to wander around and explore. See more..

3.5Mei's Grand Courtyard(15 reviews) - Lost grandeur of Chinese Americans Friday: 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM Architectural Buildings
Mei's Grand Courtyard is the most (or perhaps the only) interesting sights in Taishan. A large open space, which was once a bustling marketplace, is surrounded by old, three-storey buildings. The eclectic mix of Chinese and Western architecture reflects the history of the Chinese diaspora, as many of them went to America to make a living and sent money home. Most of the houses were built in the 1920s and are now in disrepair. Therefore, come as soon as possible. This place is away from the city centre so hiring a car is a good idea.See more..
4.5Jinjiangli Village(11 reviews) - The best! No tourist but absolutely beautiful Spent 1-2 hours Historic Sites • Points of Interest & Landmarks • Architectural Buildings • Lookouts
We have visited various diaolou in Kaiping area. This is the most beautiful dialou. It is worth a visit. There are plenty of photo opportunities !!! If you have a 360 camera, bring it with you. The tallest dialou in here is privately owned. So you will need to pay additional entry fee to get in. There is someone there to explain to u briefly about this place and what to expect in each floors. He will also show you photos that can be taken. Not a lot of tourist. So you can take your time and walk around. Worth every bit. Would come back again. There is a car park for cars. See more..
4.0Guangji Gate Tower(11 reviews) - Beautiful ancient tower Friday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Historic Sites • Architectural Buildings
The tower is the iconic symbol of Chaozhou City. It is the most spectacular of the City’s seven gates. The gates are one of the major highlights of the ancient city. See more..
Well, yes that is not one of the nice village sides. Here we are looking on some history from the war against the Japanese (2WW). According the told story 7 Chinese Men made a last stand in that tower besieged by Japanese. After 7 days and 7 nights they ran out of ammo and we’re finally taken, brutally killed, chopped in pieces and thrown n t he river... The fighting marks are still very visible on the walls. There is a very nice lookout from the top of the tower. Due to it is part of the full ticket we came to here and I do not regret it (it is anyways in the way back to Kaiping. I do recommend it. It's a small attraction in the middle of the city which has a lot of history. Go to the second story and speak to the attendant. He is helpful but speaks only mandarin and the local dialect. He is able to share the history and also point you to other attractions around the city. The rally helpful. Do take note that there are two staircase leading to the second story and only one side is openable. For those who do not have the stomach for local food, there is a fast food restaurant nearby. 4.0Phoenix Tower(8 reviews) - It was closed for renovation when I was there... Friday: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM Architectural Buildings
I saw the pagoda (or tower) from Guangji Bridge and decided to walk for 20 minutes to reach the place. However, it was closed for renovation (I supposed) and could not go near it. It may not be easy to reach the tower as you have to walk a distance and walk across a dam to get to it. After you reach the tower, you will realise that they isn't any description about the tower.See more..

4.0Danfu Courtyard(6 reviews) - An unexpectedly pleasant discovery! Friday: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM Architectural Buildings
We visited this place as part of a short group tour to Chaozhou. Since it was a quick visit, we only spent a couple of hours there but we were pleasantly surprised by the beautiful scenery and the quiet and relaxed environment. The place was not crowded like most of the other sites visited in China. It should be a good place for retreat and relaxation. There should be more about history and culture to be discovered inside the buildings but we didn't have time to explore. Wouldn't mind revisiting if we have a chance. However, it's worth the visit just for the scenery.See more..
4.5Lianfang Building of Baigong(4 reviews) - The only western "footprint" in the village Friday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Architectural Buildings
Very interesting to visit here, I already been there for 2 times and never get bored to visit this Hakka village. This building is a western-hakka architectures different among others building in the village. Don't forget to visit Dafudi Horn House which located in the same area. It is the only Hakka horn shape house in the world, but need to walk around 500 metres inside the village. Really like this "Hakka authentic village". Its kindness, nature, culture were really so great. Don't forget to have an interaction with the local also, that was really impressive..See more..

4.5Beishan Temple(2 reviews) - Amazing and atmospheric temple Friday: 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM Architectural Buildings
It was pouring rain the day my tour group visited the temple so the place was practically empty. Perhaps it is this reason that the temple and grounds seemed so beautiful and mystical. As another reviewer noted, there are so many Buddhas here. I found the style and architecture to be quite interesting. I really can't pinpoint a reason, but I personally believe this is one of the best temples I have visited in all of China.See more..
4.0Baoguang Tower(2 reviews) - 登高远眺 Friday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Architectural Buildings • Religious Sites
4.5Qiaoxiang Village Weilong House(2 reviews) - Great for Horseshoe-Shaped and Square-Style Weiwus Architectural Buildings Our biggest challenge in Meizhou was not being able to hire a driver or rent a car so we had to rely on public transportation to get around. Because Nanhua You Lu was the only weiwu recommended by the guidebook that was easily accessible by public bus, we decided to head to Nankou Village, where the You Lu is located. We were delighted to find out that the small village also houses a good number of traditional horseshoe-shaped (known as Weilong Wus) and square-style weiwus. A villager recommended that we spend the day wandering down the main village road (this is the road that leads in from the highway and overlooks the farm fields), which passes by most of these weiwus. Apart from Nanhua You Lu, the other weiwus in this area are free to enter. Some are still inhabited so just wander in, look for the owner and ask politely if you can enter for a quick look. Most of the villagers are very friendly, especially if you're a foreigner, and will invite you in for tea and snacks. Note: We were fortunate to visit over during Chinese New Year, when most of the villagers return home from other towns to celebrate with their family so many invited us into their homes for a tour. We were even invited to dine with a family at their annual Chinese New Year feast, which featured some of the best Hakka food we've had. To get to Nankou, take bus number 9 from the city center (your hotel can point you in the right direction). The ride only took 30 minutes. Tell the driver you want to get off at Nankou. Villagers on motorbikes hang around the bus stop and will bring tourists to Nankou (about 1km by foot) for ¥10/ride.See more..
5.0Dafudi Horn House(2 reviews) - Cultural trip in Meizhou Spent < 1 hour Neighborhoods • Architectural Buildings • Educational sites
Dafudi Horn House located in Fuliang village, It is the only horn-shaped Hakka Dragon House in the world. Very good for those who love Photography, nature, and architectures. Really worth to visit during your trip to Meizhou. You will awesome for its Hakka "authentic" Architectures, scenary, paddy fields in the village. For convenience, you can rent a car or taxi from city, its around 15-20 minutes drive. For cheaper option you can take a bus and stop in Xiyang, but you need to walk around 30 minutes inside the village. Dont forget to visit Lianfang building, it is also famous for its western-hakka architectures. You can see it in the middle of your way from xiyang to Dafudi Horn House in Fuliang Village.See more..

5.0Nanhua YouLu Pan Ancestral House(1 review) - Interesting Square-Shaped Weiwu Friday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Architectural Buildings There are still villagers living in Nanhua You Lu, which makes for an interesting visit. Nanhua You Lu is probably not the most well-preserved weiwu in the Nankou Village but it is certainly one of the oldest. ¥5 gets you into the weiwu, which is a little run-down but thoroughly fascinating. If you speak Chinese, be sure to locate the owner who is always happy to share more about the history of the Nanhua You Lu. To get here, take bus number 9 from the city center (your hotel can point you in the right direction). The ride only took 30 minutes. Tell the driver you want to get off at Nankou. Villagers on motorbikes hang around the bus stop and will bring tourists to Nankou (about 1km by foot) for ¥10/ride. Give yourself time to also explore the Nankou Village, which is filled with interesting weiwus, including horse-shoe shaped ones. Take the winding main village road which leads deeper into the farm fields. Note: The photo Tripadvisor has uploaded to this attraction is wrong. Nanhua YouLu is a traditional Hakka-style building laid out in a square shape.See more..
I do hope Government can take care this kind of history building.See more..
