Connecting to everything
I live in Shenzhen and travel often, so it is common to use the local metros. Guangzhou metro was fairly simple to use and get around. It is similar to Shenzhen, so understanding how the system work wasn't that difficult. I was able to get near or exactly to everything I wanted to. Another nice thing is that the metro isn't really expensive to use and quite affordable, especially when compared to taxis.

Great subway system but some riders need to show more consideration
This is a great subway system. Most areas of Guangzhou are readily accessible. The trains are clean and seemingly always on time. Affordable and convenient. I ride it at least a few times a week. The main problem I've had is the way some Chinese act when things get crowded. I recently got shoved out of the way by an older Chinese woman running to the train and a younger woman stepped on my foot bruising my toe. People are also often bad about standing in line sometimes. Lots of cutting. Way too much pushing and shoving. Why do people act like this? What can you do about it.
