3.5Luohu Commerical City (Lo Wu Shopping Plaza)(1.190 reviews) - All kinds of goods, including a myriad of knockoffs Thursday: 10:00 AM - 10:00 PM Spent 2-3 hours Shopping Malls

3.5Guangzhou Zoo(398 reviews) - Nicely carred for animals Thursday: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Zoos

3.5Statue of Fisher Girl(368 reviews) - Nothing much Thursday: 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM Monuments & Statues
It's just a statue with nothing much to see around the area. I think in general, Zhuhai has nothing much to offer except for food and shoppingSee more..
The thing I found most useful in this place is the handphone/cellphone shops that offer all kinds of phone covers and accessories that are a fraction of most of the countries you come from (Oz, Singapore, Malaysia etc). Every shop has their experts, and I think the prices are very competitive. Clothes and fashion wise, I am not interested. Food wise: ok... lots of choices, so maybe walk around before making a decision. Great place in general for shopping.See more..
Chikan was the center of things in terms of economy in kaiping all the way up until the communists’ takeover. Now, the center of commerce is in downtown Kaiping. Being a vibrant economy for such a long time, Chikan has many treasures. The architecture was built in a style unique to Chikan. Overseas Kaiping people and Tai Shan people came back with hard-earned money and built this town with strong European influence. The town has a very special story. The two main clans in Chikan are the Guan(Kwan) or Situ (Seto) clans. They compete in everything from who has the biggest library to who is better-off. The rivalry of these two clans contributed the first library in Kaiping, an imported clock tower from Germany and the US and so on.....See more..
3.5Humen Bridge(58 reviews) - A great engineering feat Thursday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Bridges
I crossed this bridge twice a day for 2-1/2yrs as I lived in Humen and worked in Nansha. To be quite honest there is nothing there at the bridge (linking Nansha to Humen) and no access to foot passengers. There is even less in both nansha and Humen towns. If memory serves me right the bridge is 3.5km long and it crosses the very busy Pearl river. That's about all. Humen dirty and Nansha just about uninhabited as its expanded without people actually living there. Not a place to visit for culture or decent foodSee more..
3.5Zhuhai Beach(53 reviews) - Zhuhai Beach Thursday: 8:00 AM - 2:00 AM Beaches
As far as beaches go, the distance from the beach to the water is the largest I’ve come across! The water is very dirty due to the convergence of the river mucking it up. One couldn’t access the beach unless a 48 hour green code was shown.See more..
3.5Bird Paradise(47 reviews) - Above average quiet bird sanctuary/park Thursday: 7:30 AM - 7:00 PM Architectural Buildings
Was very pleasantly quiet when I visited with few people there, though with more visitors I can see this place not being quite as pleasant. Nice park with paved paths make for a pleasant walk. There seems to be an abandoned and overgrown school on the premises, with part of it being used as an observation desk type room, and other room being used as a mini museum/gift shop. Key focal point of the Paradise is an ancient tree that resembles a small island. A short boat tour is given with a Chinese-language-only audio track. Some beautiful herons to be seen, though only in quick glimpses as the boat seems to speed by them. In the big picture this is probably good as to not disturb the birds.See more..
A scary cable car ride up to the top of Mt. Jingshan park (also known as Mt. Shijing Park). Panoramic views of the Zhuhai city, coastline, the bridge, some islands and the Opera House. The views coming down the cable have stunning water views! The cable car cost 60 RMB for a return trip and has many other activities! Our purpose was to experience the panoramic views! You can walk to the top of the mountain if you wish!See more..

3.5Humen Town(29 reviews) - Humen is worth a visit Thursday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Valleys
We found Humen a interesting town. It's very much like most Chinese towns on the surface but we were impressed once we scratch a bit deeper and found the opium museum and the war museum. We spent a 1/2 day at the opium museum. If you are English speaking be sure to get the recorded information for when you look at the exhibitions. We had a great afternoon and took a rickshaw for an hour on a tour of the town just to see the other sights. See more..
3.0Chikan Movie Town(25 reviews) - Chikan Old Town Thursday: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM Amusement & Theme Parks
Chikan is located at the center of Kaiping City of Guangdong Province, about 12 kilometers away from Kaiping. Lying on the northern bank of Tanjiang River, Chikan is featured with western buildings, on the southern bank is the beautiful countryside. Chikan is the notable homeland of overseas Chinese so that the constructions blended the western and eastern styles. Wandering around the town is like stepping back to the life of 1980s. The watchtowers, Situ’s library (it was built by the Situ family, so it was named “Situ’s library”), the arcade complex are more than a unique.See more..
3.5Lost City(25 reviews) - Don't bother if you weigh more than 70kg Thursday: 10:00 AM - 9:00 PM Water Parks
The park has a fair number of slides, some look better than others but many have a 70kg/155 lb weight limit (and they will weigh you and send you away!) my hubby is 6ft and they only let him on a couple of slides. They will also not let you down if you have a zip on the back of your shorts. I suppose it is nice that they were safety conscious in this way but we've never come across so many restrictions and it spoiled our day. The slide that looks like a toilet bowl looked very dangerous and people kept hitting their head on the way round. You need to pay for a ring and people will steal them when you're not looking. Pretty rubbish for larger people!See more..

3.5Zhuahai Sandie Spring(23 reviews) - Waterfalls, clear spring pools and swimming pools Thursday: 9:00 AM - 7:00 PM Hot Springs & Geysers
Sandie Spring is a famous spring on Hengqin Island. Also called Three-fold Spring after the three waterfalls-Daxia Waterfall, Feiling Waterfall and Yinling Waterfall. Enjoy the the day by climbing Naobei Mountain and playing in the cool refreshing spring water pools along the stone passage ways. Amid the mountain there are numerous scenic spots and beautiful scenery. Get a great view of the island surrounded by the sea and Macau in the distance. When your finished exploring the island, relax by the 15,000-sqm spring water beach swimming pool. If you still want to play have fun at their amusing water sports area. 3.5First Beach Tourist Resorts(21 reviews) - Good place to go in summer time Thursday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Islands • Beach & Pool Clubs
December is not a good time to this beautiful beach, but if you enjoy a more private and need a romantic sunset scenery, it’s still a good place to go. Coconut trees, long beach with fine sand, side walk cafe, even can enjoy a seafood dinner afterward.See more..
This is a little out of the way to get to and parking is terrible. It costs 30 rmb to enter and at the time of writing you need clear covid testing on the app and a facemask. There are some places to eat and get drinks and snacks. It is interesting to see the way people lived a few hundred years ago. If you are interested in architecture and want to get some great photo opportunities it is worth visiting. There are also some guest houses so it is possible to stay overnight. I enjoyed it. You may also wish to stay into the evening and eat there.See more..
3.5Zhangmutou Town(18 reviews) - Still very local and not touristy Thursday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Historic Sites
It's the 2nd stop on the train out of Shenzhen (1st is Pinghu). The ticket is 39.50 yuan as of December 2016. Do visit if you want to see a city that still has that village flavour. Worth a day trip. It's really boomed since when I was here 10 years ago. Walk out of the train station through a tunnel and you are in the smack center so don't get a ride from the ride hagglers tugging at you at the station exit. Lots of your typical big city brand name shops but also lots of little shops and eateries. If you are doing a day trip from Shenzhen (and you need only a day trip), do get the roundtrip as there are always long lines at the Zhangmutou (ZMT) train station, plus no one will speak English in ZMT to help you buy your ticket back. You can always hop on any train at another hour, the tickets are flexible as long as you travel on the date of your ticket.See more..
3.5Zhongshan Movie(16 reviews) - Very enjoyable place Thursday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Points of Interest & Landmarks
This is one of the movie sets in Southern China. It can be combined with the Sun Yat Sen's Residence Memorial Museum. The park consists of 4 different area's: China, Japan, USA and UK. The Japan movie set is the biggest one in China and we liked this part the most. It looks very authentic and you feel like walking in a Japanese village. However, the other area's are definitely worth a look. You can enter many buildings and explore them. You can rent some costumes which you can keep as long as you want and make some great pictures. Depending on the amount of pictures you take and your walking speed you can spend between 2 to 4 hours in the park. We really enjoyed it and can warmly recommend it.See more..
3.5Mei's Grand Courtyard(15 reviews) - Lost grandeur of Chinese Americans Thursday: 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM Architectural Buildings
Mei's Grand Courtyard is the most (or perhaps the only) interesting sights in Taishan. A large open space, which was once a bustling marketplace, is surrounded by old, three-storey buildings. The eclectic mix of Chinese and Western architecture reflects the history of the Chinese diaspora, as many of them went to America to make a living and sent money home. Most of the houses were built in the 1920s and are now in disrepair. Therefore, come as soon as possible. This place is away from the city centre so hiring a car is a good idea.See more..

3.5Queshi Bridge(13 reviews) - A bridge to behold Thursday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Parks

3.5Yangjiang Mawei Island(12 reviews) - A Very Pleasant Day Trip! Thursday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Islands
A great place to experience fish catching. There are manned fishing boats for rent at RMB 300-400 per hour (high season price). The boat can sit about 20 people. Not only was it a fun boat ride around the pier, it also was a great fish catching experience for kids. The catch could range from crabs, shrimps, shells and fish. Other than boat ride, there is a very nice trek up a small hill at Mawei Island, where you can get beautiful glimpses of the sea. There are also floating restaurants at the pier serving catch of the day to complement your trip!See more..
3.5Mazu Palace(12 reviews) - Vacation Trip Thursday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Religious Sites
A fairly small temple comprising 2 separate section of beautifully decorated deities. They appears to be fairly new as the figurines are still clean and bright in colors. A normal temple would have been blacken by the burning incense. If temple is your thing, out the Mazu temple turn left and another left onto Waima Road . Just around 100m on the left you will see another bigger temple. You can miss it as there's a big wall with nine dragons just in front. See more..
3.5Gudoushan Hot Spring Resort(11 reviews) - Nice especially for local standards Thursday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Hot Springs & Geysers • Beach & Pool Clubs

Well, yes that is not one of the nice village sides. Here we are looking on some history from the war against the Japanese (2WW). According the told story 7 Chinese Men made a last stand in that tower besieged by Japanese. After 7 days and 7 nights they ran out of ammo and we’re finally taken, brutally killed, chopped in pieces and thrown n t he river... The fighting marks are still very visible on the walls. There is a very nice lookout from the top of the tower. Due to it is part of the full ticket we came to here and I do not regret it (it is anyways in the way back to Kaiping. I do recommend it. What do you do in a AAAA scenic spot in China?! Trying to avoid tourist groups that want to take a photo with you instead of the minority people living there. On one hand it's nice that these places get this title and the government spends some money on preserving it. On the other hand most of that money lands in the pocket of local governments. The locals (Yao Zu) try their best to do business, selling dried herbs, nuts and the like. I felt a bit harassed by some vendors, trying to sell their goods by saying "help me - buy something from me - I haven't sold anything today". Anyways, upon arriving - we drove by car - we were welcomed by a young girl trying to get us to sleep at their families house. We preferred to walk around and try to find our own stay. As I always say, the best things happen when you go to a bar, said and done. The owner of "Golden Stone Bar" (得金石酒吧) is a pure and honest person who happens to have a guest room too, so that's were we stayed for two days. We asked him and his family to eat together so we could sample more of their local dishes - and their Mijiu too ;) It's a bit more complicated to arrive with public transport as mentioned by another reviewer. But if you decide to go, you should definitely stay over night, sit down and breathe the history of the village. There's a minority dance going on but it's done for Chinese tourists and none of the dancers looked like they're enjoying this. Instead we paid two cool old guys sitting somewhere hidden, smoking their pipes and they happily performed their drum dance. Awesome mountain formations, similar to Guilin and beautiful mountain roads. Very good place to shoot rural live of Yao people's lives! Go there - support them to keep this alive. Because nobody else seems to care!See more..
3.5Chuan Island(10 reviews) - Beautiful Chinese Resort Thursday: 6:00 AM - 9:00 PM Islands
Definitely not Honolulu, Maldives , Phuket or Ibiza but pleasant nevertheless. The nature and landscape are very beautiful and relatively uncontaminated. A little substandard in cleanliness and accommodation. Not much entertainment and a preposterous obligation not only to swim in designated areas but also to wear a life vest at sea . The water wasn’t clear but rather dark. Interesting for those willing to experience Chinese culture,Chinese hospitality and Chinese fresh Seafood. Interesting experience.See more..

3.5Maoming Forest Park(9 reviews) - Nice, but not shocking Thursday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Parks • Forests
This is a big man-made park holding a waterpark, fancy fair, Animal park and a lot of tropical plants. Much shadow and nature. The atmosphere is very relaxed. we were there in August and it was not busy and hot. The zoo part is like a mid last century European zoo. Big animals in small cages. The zoo part will take you an hour tops. Entrance is cheap We paid 20 Yuan for adults. Having a drink in the park is insanely cheap. A coke is 7 Yuan. (Avoid the animal show, they still have tigers riding horses ect!)See more..

3.5Xianqiao Underground River(8 reviews) - Undiscovered Geopark Thursday: 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM Bodies of Water
I would say the boat trip was full of surprises, we knew nothing about this until we were ushered to enter the park by the local friends. As we walked in, we passed by the 8-fairy sculpture, it’s beautifully crafted. The path led us to another entrance, where we’re handed with safety jackets, we were told that the entrance ticket entitled us to take boat rides to see the limestone cave through the underground river. I would say very huge, deep, natural limestone cave and it’s beautiful. Clear, crystal green, cool river water, picturesque views, which is a nice place to explore. The most unfortunate thing throughout the trip is the local tourists and boatmen keep spitting into the river... I wonder how long can they upkeep and preserved this beautiful place.See more..
