Love the information on local history
I love learning about ancient China. Much can be learned at its museums, and this is a good one for local Shenzhen and Guangdong Province history and artifacts. The fossils and dinosaurs bones section take us back millions of years. Quite amazing.

Magnificent museum exhibits & very informative displays
My favourite collections are those of Ancient Shenzhen and Folk Culture. That said, I like most of the exhibits. This 37,000 square metre museum houses more than 20,000 historical and cultural items on display. This is a great museum to learn about China, its history, and its cultures. You can learn about the development of stone tools and pottery, the Qin and Han dynasties on the now Shenzhen lands, cultures of other countries, various ethnic minorities of China, the development of the Shenzhen market, exhibits of early settlers in their everyday life making foods, eating and working in shops, and much more. There is no admission fee.
