We went to the winery because my sisters love wine. Val was eating lunch when we arrived but quickly finished up to give us a wine tasting. Val gave us a brief history of the winery and how he got into the business. Val lived a very colorful life and it was fun listening to his stories about his life. Val is very knowledgeable about wine and shared lots of useful information. I loved listening to him tell us how he made the wines and came up with the names and flavors. The museum looks very new and clean. It was free. A veteran met us at the door and told us a lot of information. He showed us where to start the museum tour and told us he’d meet us afterwards to answer questions. It was very interesting. It covered his entire life, through his schooling, failing college, joining the army, eventually going to OCS. He served in Vietnam, Desert Storm and was the U.S. Coalition commander in the first years of the War on Terror. He retired in 2003. I went alone the first time and the staff helped me every step of the way - making me feel safe. Responsibility is paramount, but our family thinks it is a BLAST! See more..
We frequent this brewery several times a month. Located downtown in the old Icehouse. The Broken Arrow Brown Ale and No Coast IPA are my favorites beers but they also have choices for the non hopheads. They've recently started serving small batch beers and I've really like some of the stouts and porters they've turned out. Usually have a food truck on the weekends or you can order from Franklin's (their reuben is fantastic) and have it delivered. Live entertainment several times a month as well, Great place to enjoy a few brews and hang out with friends. You can even get a glass of wine now for those who don't like beer (I guess those people exist). See more..

5.0Chickasaw Council House Museum(7 reviews) - You gotta go here Wednesday: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Spent 1-2 hours History Museums
It’s tempting to pass this up even though it is right next door to the majestic Chickasaw Courthouse. It has - inside - the original Council House (us pale-faces call it a courthouse). Yes the actual, real, original log Council House. Originally it was over in now Milburn where the Chickasaw White House is. Emma was our guide. She is amazing. She is not only elegant and knowledgeable but very humbled by her Chickasaw heritage. I learned more from her than anyone else concerning the early day Chickasaws. She even knew the burial customs. I had asked this question at the other various Chickasaw places I visited and received conflicting information. Buy your souvenirs here. I did. Best selection and moderately priced. Thank you my new ehoo Indian friend Ima aka Emma. See more..
We were returning home from Wichita Falls and stopped in one hour prior to closing to see the Abernathy boys exhibit. The guide was more than happy to open up the barn and give a talk. We will return when we have more time and visit the other exhibits. See more..
5.0Paint Your Art Out(6 reviews) - Favorite Paint Place Spent 2-3 hours Paint & Pottery Studios
I have been here half a dozen times and I love it. I especially love painting my dogs, but this studio, which is not a chain, has the best original paintings. They make their own, it's not a copy off anyone else. This studio was the first of its kind in the area and the only local studio. People are friendly, there is teasing and witty repartee, and you feel like you're among friends. Great atmosphere and great fun.See more..
It's worth the stop just to see the life size longhorn statues in front of the museum. This place is huge. It is in an old building that is 3 stories tall. The elevator and a/c were broken when we were there so we got quite a workout. There were numerous rooms filled with exhibits. The museum covers Greer County, probably the most unusual county in Oklahoma since at one time it was part of Texas. A friendly gentleman showed us all around.See more..
We were fortunate enough to stay at the Mowdy Ranch and loved every minute! It is one of the few Wild Mustang sanctuaries in the country!
