We had a wonderful time on Krka and Wine tasting tour with our tour guide Elio. He was attentive, informative and entertaining making sure we (approx 50 of us) all knew our meeting spots and times. He was an excellent communicator and readily answered questions about the sites and activities regarding tour as well as about his life in Croatia. We greatly appreciate his time spent with us and his desire to make our tour a great experience. Krka is mostly at your own pace and the wine and snacks at the winery were delicious. See more..
  2. 5.0 Split Adventure (2.034 reviews)
    - Had an amazing time on the beautiful Canoe Safari excursion
    Saturday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM River Rafting & Tubing • Canyoning & Rappelling Tours • Adrenaline & Extreme Tours • Kayaking & Canoeing • Day Trips
    Split Adventure image
My family and I all went to Croatia recently and the Canoe Safari Cetina was the first activity we did. The staff were super friendly and helpful and the location was stunning - crystal clear waters and a nice breeze while canoeing. The 11km journey is great as you get to see a lot of different scenery and experience many rapids. I was initially worried that the skill level would be difficult for all of us to handle but the rapids and drops are definitely manageable even for someone who is not athletic in the slightest. The guides are also always alert and watching out for you so you can rest assured you'll be safe during the trip even if you fall in (which is actually also a great way to cool down). Overall, I highly recommend doing this trip if you are remotely close to Split as a lot of people only experience the coastal beauty of the country but miss the rivers and mountains that the country has to offer. - Awesome Boat Tour Experience
Saturday: 8:00 AM - 9:00 PM Boat Tours • Boat Rentals • Private Tours • Speed Boats Tours
    Mayer Charter Day Tours image
Blue cave and Hvar are very impressive. This boat tour shows us the beautiful landscape of Croatia. There are multiple stops at some islands for swimming and even snorkeling. The highlight is the last stop, Hvar. The view on top of the fortress is spectacular! The speed boat is comfy to accommodate a small group of 10 people. Our skipper Karlo is very kind, suggested us some cool places to see and to eat, giving each of the guests a bottle of water to cool down from the heat, as well as explaining us the history of the islands and towns quite well. The duration of the tour is just right enough. I will definitely recommend this tour to people who stay in Trogir or Split and would like to explore more of the islands. See more..
  4. 5.0 Croatia Rafting (990 reviews)
    - Amazing experience!!
Saturday: 12:00 AM - 11:30 PM River Rafting & Tubing
    Croatia Rafting image
We decided to go Rafting with Croatia Rafting, after executive manager Ivan Stanić gave us all the information we asked for. We were 5 adults and 4 children from 6 to 11 years. We had an AMAZING expierience and the best guide: JURE who managed to safely get us to the end of the trip. His english was perfect and he was a very experienced guide who managed to make us feel safe and gave us perfect instructions and even sang a song with us! If you are looking for a great adrenaline and fun filled experience, we recommend Ivan’s team! You wil not regret it. See more..
  5. 5.0 Pirate Rafting (972 reviews)
    - Outstanding - every aspect. rafting itself, communication, beauty of the Cetina River. A+
River Rafting & Tubing • Boat Tours • Water Sports
    Pirate Rafting image
A+ experience from start to finish. Neno and his wife Heike that own the company are both fantastic. Great communication about the process, incredibly fun day rafting the river. We used their transfer service from Split which was very economical. Guides are all knowledgable of the river. River is an easy river, nothing too extensive with rapids. Great way to beat the heat, see the beauty of the Cetina River, do a little canyoneering, climb into a cave, and do some cliff jumping. The guides carry a professional camera and take fun photos along the way. They sell the photos for cheap after the tour. Rafting itself is very reasonably priced as well. Neno is a talker and tells many great stories along the transfer from Split to Omis. I loved hearing all his stories about his travels and Croatia. Don't hesitate to book direct with them either. 6. 5.0 Red Adventures Croatia (923 reviews)
    - Unforgettable 6-day self-guided kayaking and wildcamping trip
    Saturday: 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM Multi-day Tours • Bike Tours • Water Sports • Self-Guided Tours & Rentals • Kayaking & Canoeing
    Red Adventures Croatia image
Red Adventures organised a self-guided 6-day kayak and wildcamping trip for me and my girlfriend. Drazen and Dejan have been incredibly responsive prior to our trip, responding to any queries and creating a bespoke tour to satisfy our needs. This has been one of the most memorable travels I've ever experienced, being able to access the most remote and untouched parts of islands around split. It would have been impossible without the daily communication from Red Adventures with daily weather updates, advice about travelling routes according to wind conditions and other variables. Despite being alone, we have always felt very safe because Red Adventures always maintained communication with us, checking in on us and using their in-depth knowledge of the islands and weather to advise us best. I look forward to booking with Red Adventures again, thank you guys! See more..

What a great day with a good balance of free time and learning some history about Split and the surroundings. Jelena was a lovely lady with a great sense of humour who really made the tour a lot of fun. Definitely recommend to do if you want to visit Krka as was great value for money which included a boat ride into Krka, discounted entry and also seeing some of a small seaside town outside of split on the way back. Thank you Jelena! See more..

    - Unforgettable Day

    Iris Adventures - Tours image
We did omis via ferata with Iris. That was my first ever via ferata and was super scared snd not sure if I'd stay and drink coffee while waiting for my sister. Iris reassured me that I'd be able to it and I actually loved it. She was super professional and gave me necessary confidence and made me feel safe. I was amazed with her experience in hiking, climbing and her achievements. She shared so many cool stories with us making this day unforgettable. Views from this via ferata are stunning - on one side green cetina river and its canyon, on the other city of Omis, island of Brac and Omis Fortress. Being a total beginner I managed it without any problems. Iris took so many cool photos and shared with us. I loved it so much that I did another one and look forward to rock climbing and canonying with Iris. Warmely recommend to snyone visiting central Dalmatia See more..
  9. 5.0 Asteria Quad ATV Adventures (817 reviews)
    - BEST FAMILY FRIENDLY ADVENTURE!
    Saturday: 8:00 AM - 10:00 PM 4WD, ATV & Off-Road Tours
    Asteria Quad ATV Adventures image
If you do one thing in Croatia, THIS tour is it. The family UTV was so much more than what we expected. Mr. D showed us the Croatia culture, local cuisine, and amazing views. We drove up to the top of a beautiful peak in inner Dalmatia and the views were some of the most stunning we have ever seen (and we have traveled to many mountains!) Astoria adventure was professional, punctual, and amazing with our 4-year old son. They even picked us up and dropped us off in Split for a VERY affordable price. We don't have the words to describe how great our day was. If you're thinking about doing an ATV or UTV tour -- JUST DO IT! You won't regret it! See more..
  10. 4.5 Walls of Dubrovnik (24.3k reviews)
    - Beautiful Views
Saturday: 8:00 AM - 7:30 PM Spent 1-2 hours Historic Sites • Historic Walking Areas
    Walls of Dubrovnik image
Constructed over a 500-year period mainly during the 12th and 17th centuries, the Walls of Dubrovnik are amongst the most extensive and well-preserved fortifications in Europe. Stretching over 6000 feet, the uninterrupted course offers fantastic views of the coastal city. There's little shelter from the sun, so visit during the cooler months or evenings to beat the heat and for fewer crowds. You can purchase tickets from any City Wall entrance, but a Dubrovnik Pass is convenient and offers great value. A guided tour also often includes a walking tour of the Old Town as well. – Tripadvisor See more..
  11. 4.5 Old Town (18.9k reviews)
    - A unique and interesting city!

    Old Town image
Fascinating and attractive city which I covered comfortably in two days. The view from the top of the cable car is wonderful and the city walls well worth walking around (2 kilometres) although in one part did get a bit of vertigo! The city is not cheap though - cable car costs 200 kn (approx £22) and visiting the City Walls 250 kn (approx £28). Good choice of restaurants but those inside the city walls are expensive. Recommend to visit if possible when there are not many cruise ships in town as the city can get super super busy especially in the mornings with so many group tours. See more..
  12. 4.5 Dubrovnik Cable Car (12.9k reviews)
    - Cable Car at Sunset
Temporarily closed - Closed until Apr 1, 2023 Trams
    Dubrovnik Cable Car image
Running year-round, the Dubrovnik Cable Car has been taking travelers up to the top of Mount Srd since 1969. In just four short minutes, you'll reach the peak and be treated to breathtaking views of Dubrovnik, the Adriatic Sea and more. At the top, check out the fortress and dine with a view at Panorama Restaurant, exceptionally stunning at sunset. For the best value, choose a tour that combines the cable car, Old Town walking tour and the Dubrovnik City Walls. Plan your visit during off-peak seasons for fewer crowds, or right when the cable car opens. – Tripadvisor See more..

  14. 4.5 Lokrum Island (7.969 reviews)
    - Great for a break away from the city
    Islands
    Lokrum Island image
Lokrum Island, home to a botanical garden, salt lake, and Benedictine monastery dating back at least to 1023, is a great escape from the bustle of Dubrovnik. Travelers and locals alike visit this island for its idyllic walking paths, natural swimming pools, and colorful peacocks. It’s also popular among Game of Thrones fans as the filming location for Qarth. A perfect day trip, boats regularly leave from Dubrovnik's Old Town port and take just 15 minutes to get to Lokrum. An additional entrance fee is required on the island. Lokrum is busiest in the summer vacation months of July and August. – Tripadvisor See more..

    Sea Organ (Morske Orgulje) image
Zadar sea organs is in my opinion the biggest attraction of this city. I recommend to go there when the sunset is happening, which gaves us a great show of music and light. 16. 4.5 Historic City of Trogir (3.428 reviews)
    - Beautiful place
    Historic Sites
    Historic City of Trogir image
Stayed on Trogir waterfront after sailing from Malta, this place is truly lovely. Picturesque, vibrant, lots of great eateries that can accommodate a large family ( 8) without bookings. Days were spent wandering up and down the cobbled streets each time finding a new restaurant , bar or ice cream shop to pass the time away people watching. Also loved that after midnight it quietened down considerably ( on the waterfront )but there was some night time places not far away for my twenty something kids to enjoy. And a great market to enjoy open every day. Definitely a place for all the family young and old to visit. See more..
  17. 4.5 Old Split (3.311 reviews)
    - Get lost…
    Historic Sites
    Old Split image
And I mean that in the nicest possible way. A maze of back alleys and small squares the old historic section of Split is a great area just to explore aimlessly and see what you find next, with the safety net that you will eventually come out somewhere where it is easy to get back on the main drag. Full of restaurants, cafes and bars there are plenty of spots to stop and refuel and watch people walk by. Unfortunately the downside is that there are plenty of them as well, especially when there are cruise ships in Split, which sadly is a regular occurrence nowadays. Croatia’s rush to expand its tourism industry is in danger of ruining the prized assets that attract people here in the first place. But you cannot penalise those assets just because of that and Split Old town is definitely a five star attraction. I just hope for your sakes that there are no cruise ships in when you visit so that you can enjoy it. See more..
  18. 4.5 Marjan Park (3.016 reviews)
    - PLEASE feed the animals at the zoo!

    Marjan Park image
Often referred to as the “lungs of the city”, this green forest oasis west of Split's old town area is a favorite amongst locals for hiking, biking, swimming, and rock climbing. The serene walk up to Telegrin peak includes 314 steps and rewards you with stunning panoramic views of the city and the Adriatic Sea. Remember to wear comfortable walking shoes, if not, there's always the tourist train that can take you straight to the top. Take your time to explore the other cool trails—pitstops include an old Jewish cemetery, quaint churches, cave dwellings, a museum dedicated to local sculptor Ivan Mestrovic, and some of Split's best beaches. – Tripadvisor See more..
  19. 4.5 Cavtat Old Town (2.687 reviews)
    - A quiet option to visiting Dubrovnik
    Neighborhoods
    Cavtat Old Town image
Cavtat pronounced Savtat, Yeah I didn't know either is a very much chilled out option if you want to visit Dubrovnik but don't want the masses. A lovely small town on the seaside. Get the bus or an uber or even the wee ferry (much more fun) if you want to visit Dubrovnik. In town most larger apartments are on the hill so a good walk uphill to and fro not so good if you can't walk so well, more apartments right in town. There isn't too much to see in Cavtat but lots of restaurants beaches and hiking will see you through, hire a boat, take a larger boat trip, only thing with the boat trips in Sept or any month with bad weather is windy conditions means no boats. That doesn't happen often. A great quiet option to Dubrovnik. See more..
  20. 4.5 Stradun (2.653 reviews)
    - The high street Medieval style…
Points of Interest & Landmarks • Historic Walking Areas
    Stradun image
Stradun constitutes the Main Street in the old city, paved with some of the shiniest slippery limestone you will ever see. In the day it’s a useful orientation point, by night some of the cities more interesting busking can be witnessed from classical music duo’s to owl handlers and a group of men blowing horns and clacking ratchets! Don’t miss the little balancing stone just outside the friars monastery either. Bookmarked by Big Onofrio’s fountain at one end and the Sponza palace at the other, it’s definitely worth a stroll. 21. 4.5 Tvrdava Fortica (2.626 reviews)

    Tvrdava Fortica image
Also known as Hvar Spanish Fortress, this stronghold is located on a former Illyrian settlement. Getting to the peak involves a steep but scenic climb up some cobbled switchback roads—a journey made much easier by rental vehicle or taxi, or by visiting as a stop on an island tour. The fortress is ticketed to enter, and you can explore on your own or join a guided tour for a deeper dive. Either way, enjoy the sweeping views of Croatia's iconic coastline, Hvar's harbor and even the nearby Pakleni islands on a clear day. Time your visit to catch a breathtaking sunset. – Tripadvisor See more..

    Cathedral of Saint Domnius image
Cathedral of Saint Domnius in Split Country Croatia Denomination Roman Catholic Architecture Style Ancient/Romanesque Years built 4th century Clergy The Cathedral of Saint Domnius (Croatian: Katedrala Svetog Duje), known locally as the Sveti Dujam or colloquially Sveti Duje, is the Catholic cathedral in Split, Croatia. The cathedral is the seat of the Archdiocese of Split-Makarska, headed by Archbishop Marin Barišić. The Cathedral of St. Domnius is a complex of a church, formed from an Imperial Roman mausoleum, with a bell tower; strictly the church is dedicated to the Virgin Mary, and the bell tower to Saint Domnius. Together they form the Cathedral of St. Domnius. The Cathedral of Saint Domnius, consecrated at the turn of the 7th century AD, is regarded as the oldest Catholic cathedral in the world that remains in use in its original structure, without near-complete renovation at a later date (though the bell tower dates from the 12th century). The structure itself, built in AD 3 See more..
  23. 4.5 The Peristyle of Diocletian's Palace (1.735 reviews)
    - Most amazing spot for me...
Spent 1-2 hours Ancient Ruins • Points of Interest & Landmarks
The Peristyle of Diocletian's Palace image
Yes, as other reviewers have said, Diocletian's Palace is the key attraction in Split. However, while the various museums and attractions around this square require kind of pricey admission tickets, this place can be visited and enjoyed for free. There was something about this spot which marked the place where the emperor's royal area ended and the "normal" city began seemed so well preserved. It was so easy to tune out the rest of the world and the other tourists and just image what it must have been like centuries ago. The cathedral towers to one side and the most amazing ruins are right ahead. I did not elect to have a coffee in the coffee shop that sort of ruins the ambiance a bit but I did spend a bit of time here both day and night when it is lit up stunningly! See more..

    City Harbor image
The city harbor is beautiful by day and by night, seen from above (via the city wall walk) or at ground level. You can book a boat tour with any number of operators, and prices seem somewhat negotiable in the low season, as well as where you go on the tour. There are some benches here and there, so have a seat and watch the people stroll by, fisherman get to work, and others enjoy a nice sail on the lovely Adriatic. See more..
  25. 4.5 Fort Lovrijenac (1.527 reviews)
    - Fantastic views
Saturday: 8:00 AM - 7:30 PM Historic Sites
    Fort Lovrijenac image
Often called "Dubrovnik's Gibraltar", this hilltop medieval fortress sits perched outside the city walls, on a promontory overhanging the Adriatic Sea. Game of Thrones fans will recognize this as the Red Keep in King's Landing. Catch your breath after the steep climb up, enjoy the breathtaking views of Dubrovnik’s Old Town and West Harbor, and wander the imposing stone corridors and patios. Take a tour to dive deep into the rich history, or a Game of Thrones-themed one for an extra dose of fantasy. Save by getting a city pass that includes entry to Fort Lovrijenac and other sites in Dubrovnik. – Tripadvisor See more..

  27. 4.5 Korcula Old City (1.367 reviews)

    Korcula Old City image
We visited here today, arriving on the 10 AM passenger ferry (24 kn each RT) from Orebic. With its convenient landing, we walked to the nearby Porta Maris to climb the Baroque staircase up to the main plaza, the largest level area in Korcula. Besides the artistic Cathedral of St Mark with it's cone shaped ciborium and Tintoretto over the altar, there are the 15th C Bishop’s Palace Treasury, the Town Museum in a 16th C Palace and the map of Marco Polo’s 1271-1295 travels (near his supposed birthplace). We spotted so many wonderfully sculpted stone doorways, window frames and lintels on walks around this town and up to the main 13th C old town gate-tower. See more..
  28. 4.5 Mount Srđ (1.237 reviews)
    - Cable car is very expensive but fun and probably your best option in the heat of the day!
    Mountains • Lookouts
    Mount Srđ image
My friend and I opted for different routes for getting up Mount Srd. Both of us agreed that the view from the top was five stars and worth seeing. My friend took the very expensive cable car (160 kn for a return) and said whilst it was a fun experience it was 3.5 minutes either way so price per minute is pretty extortionate! That said, he was happy with his decision and would do it again. I decided to walk up from the Old Town, which was a harder walk than I’d anticipated and very warm (I set off at 2.30pm). It took about 40 mins in total. It started with going up the city steps then across two dual carriageways before the proper walking trail started. I’d recommend wearing trainers or walking boots as the path is quite uneven under foot. I decided to get the cable car back down so we could fit in other sights so hadn’t saved much money from my adventure but enjoyed the sense of achievement! See more..
  29. 4.5 Lapad (1.162 reviews)
    - Better Option Than Old Town
    Neighborhoods • Historic Walking Areas
    Lapad image
Located on a peninsula, this residential neighborhood is a short bus or ferry ride away from Dubrovnik's Old Town and the surrounding islands. There are many pebble beaches for swimming and water sports along the coastline, some offering paid facilities while others can be accessed for free. Velika and Mala Petka Forest Park in the south offer lush greenery with hiking trails and coastal viewpoints. Consider staying in Lapad as a cheaper, quieter, and greener option over the busier Old Town. The buildings here are modern, and most lodging is situated around Lapad Bay and Babin Kuk. – Tripadvisor See more..
  30. 4.5 Riva Harbor (1.118 reviews)
    - Got time to kill or looking for a bite to eat - definitely give Riva a look

    Riva Harbor image
Nice promenade stroll along the waterfront with palm trees and benches located every few metres. Plenty of restaurants, cafes and bars to choose from. Wide avenue suitable for walking, scooters or baby prams. Lots of small stalls with trinkets and souvenirs. More restaurants, cafes and bars than you can poke a stick at. Something for every budget here. The downside was the smell in the corner where the flotsam from all the boats washes us - a rather pungent smell but it's not everywhere. I personally would not like to visit this in peak summer - it was already busy enough at end of season (September). Definitely worth a stroll if you're working off any jetlag. You can continue further north up and around towards the Marjan beach area (that's a LONG walk away though). See more..
