City Harbor, Dalmatia, Croatia
4.5 (1.610 reviews) Spent Ranking #15 in Dubrovnik-Neretva County Marinas
Handsome harbor
The city harbor is beautiful by day and by night, seen from above (via the city wall walk) or at ground level. You can book a boat tour with any number of operators, and prices seem somewhat negotiable in the low season, as well as where you go on the tour. There are some benches here and there, so have a seat and watch the people stroll by, fisherman get to work, and others enjoy a nice sail on the lovely Adriatic.

Sunset is the best time to take photos here, with the magnificent stone buildings surrounding the Harbour bathed in soft
The City Harbour was once the center of commerce for the wealthy merchants of Dubrovnik, for with its stone walls a mighty fortress it was just about impenetrable. From here they would send ship to sail all over the world plying for trade. Today it’s the tourists who flock here to drink in its beauty and gaze at its grandeur. Along the harbour walkway are many small cafes to sit at and enjoy a meal or drink, while watching the world go by reflected in the sparking blue waters of the harbour. It is possible to take a glass bottom boat from here and see the marine life in much closer detail. Or do like we did, and catch the ferry to Lokrum Island for the day. TIP: If you take the ferry to Lokrum Island from City Harbour, and visit the old monastery, inside is a mockup of the Game of thrones Iron throne, where you can take your photo for free sitting on it.
