A quiet option to visiting Dubrovnik

Cavtat pronounced Savtat, Yeah I didn't know either is a very much chilled out option if you want to visit Dubrovnik but don't want the masses. A lovely small town on the seaside. Get the bus or an uber or even the wee ferry (much more fun) if you want to visit Dubrovnik. In town most larger apartments are on the hill so a good walk uphill to and fro not so good if you can't walk so well, more apartments right in town. There isn't too much to see in Cavtat but lots of restaurants beaches and hiking will see you through, hire a boat, take a larger boat trip, only thing with the boat trips in Sept or any month with bad weather is windy conditions means no boats. That doesn't happen often. A great quiet option to Dubrovnik.

Cavtat, great place to stay with convenient trips to Montenegro, Dubrovnik and Split
Lovely old town harbour lines with restaurants and small shops Great atmosphere in the evening with street buskers and dancing in the street, young and old We sailed in from Montenegro and the sunset approaching Cavtat was stunning We dine at Dolium along the harbour front. Long wait for food but definitely worth the wait The local wine Posip, is worth trying Cavtat does not have the crowd Dubrovnik has. A 40-45 min trip by ferry to Dubrovnik old harbour or no 10 bus which only stops by the cable car stop and a 10 mins walk downhill to the higher level entrance to castle. Cavtat is certainly worth a few days stay to chill out

Hotel Croatia Hotel listed as 5 star (nearly) Overall thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Amenities are very good. Outdoor and indoor sea pool. Spa, Gym, Conference. Etc. Plenty of options for sunbathing. Although get there early as sun beds fill up quickly in the morning in all areas. Pool, terrace, beach area and cliff area, including nudist beach. Food and service excellent. Rooms more like 4 star. Hotel offers sea view, however unless level 6 or above you will be disappointed. Level 5 or below restricted view of sea. Other rooms look into garden areas. Staff excellent and are all very helpful. Hotel build on very steep hill, so lots of stairs walking down and up or path, although buggy service available till midnight for those with mobility issues. CAVTAT Lots of restaurants and a couple of bars. All inexpensive and food of exceptional quality. 3 course meal vary and range from 30 to 50 UK sterling. Wine around 20-40 UK sterling. Travelled to Cavtat September 2021. Immediately booked upon return Beautiful place and would thoroughly recommend area and Hotel Croatia. Dubrovnik boat trip from Cavtat 150 krona return. Bus 100 krona return. Make sure to check times out of season, no late boat return from Dubrovnik, although bus is available. Cavtat, less than 10 minute drive from airport. Hotel Croatia fantastic hotel for couples and family holiday.
