We absolutely loved coming to the waterfalls and being able to swim but completely understand the need to stop people swimming to protect it. The banks of the river are being destroyed by people getting in and out of the water. We got the boat over from Skradin, swam, ate lunch in the restaurant, walked the loop around the falls (definitely recommend you do that, it’s stunning) and then walked 5km back to the car at Skradin via a beautiful path alongside the lake. It's relatively easy to get the bus from Split to the Krka National Park although it's best to prebook bus tickets as they get pretty full even though its no longer peak season. You can easily spend either a full or half day at the park but we spent the afternoon just at the Skradinski Buk falls which are beautiful. The entrance ticket includes the cost of the boat trip to the falls & is a great start to the visit. Avoid the food & drink offering inside the park as what's available in the village of Skradin is much nicer & reasonably priced See more..
