Lokrum Island, home to a botanical garden, salt lake, and Benedictine monastery dating back at least to 1023, is a great escape from the bustle of Dubrovnik. Travelers and locals alike visit this island for its idyllic walking paths, natural swimming pools, and colorful peacocks. It’s also popular among Game of Thrones fans as the filming location for Qarth. A perfect day trip, boats regularly leave from Dubrovnik's Old Town port and take just 15 minutes to get to Lokrum. An additional entrance fee is required on the island. Lokrum is busiest in the summer vacation months of July and August. – Tripadvisor See more..

Best way to explore the islands is to rent a little boat on your own ,dont need licence or any major skills to do it and its so fun.We got our little boat from Rent a Boat Mate Excellent service from the start to the finish.Price was right , better then other places we checked but thats not why we decided to go with them.Mate and his team were very friendly and honest we felt they really wanted us to feel safe and enjoy our time( what we did!)They got as well prepared for our own excursion of Pakleni islands with 15 min lesson of how to use the boat,docking...Boats were clean and fully equipped (cooler box , ladder).Great tips of which bays to visit to swim and relaxed to avoid crowds of people and boats ...Highly recommend. - 100% domestic & real experiance with a touch of history by our Captain

We spent an unforgettable day with Denis on board. His great knowledge about Dubrovnik & Elaphiti Islands and their historical significance made this trip even greater than we thought it would be! He presented his city, region and this great trip with pride... Free beer, wine, juices and water should also be mentioned in this story :P As a domestic guest from Zagreb (have on mind that we support two rival clubs) I highly recommend this experiance! :) Enjoy you all! 5. 4.5 Korcula Island (943 reviews)
    - Beautiful island with great vibes!

    Korcula Island image
This island exudes such a nice energy. Its orange roof tiles and houses with Mediterranean architecture add a pop of color and charm to its pedestrian streets and old town. The restaurants strip on the walkway by the sea is a beautiful walk. The old town, its churches and tower are worth the detour as well. It is as vibrant during the day as in the evening, without being (yet) overcrowded! One of our best stops in Croatia. See more..
  6. 4.5 Lopud Island (542 reviews)
    - Great place.Easily done without a tour
    Islands
    Lopud Island image
The atmosphere on Lopud Island is peaceful and relaxing, in part due to absence of cars on the island. Grab yourself a buggy taxi to the Sunj sand beach, or opt for a scenic half an hour walk. Relax in a hammock sipping on a cocktail, before checking out the restaurants, bakeries, and souvenir shops along the promenade. Lopud Island is often visited as part of a three-island tour, or as a day trip via ferry from Dubrovnik. For the best weather, time your visit between June and September. – Tripadvisor See more..
  7. 4.5 Kolocep Island (424 reviews)
    - Out of season visit

The island is lovely and recommend you visit..but in October not much opens! The small grocery shop was closed all afternoon. There was only one bar open, which only sells drinks..no food or crisps even. The bar however was lovely set on the waters edge and staff really friendly. We walked by a restaurant on the headland, which was open so possibly an option for lunch, Villa Ruza, but as we did not go there, not sure if its opened all year. We had a really pleasant walk over to the east side of the island passing through shaded olive groves and orchards bounded by old stone walls. Our mobile said that restaurant Gornje Celo was still open, but found it all closed down for winter. We caught the 10am ferry from Dubrovnik port, Gruz bought tickets (about £5 return) from the Jadrolinija office across the street from where you embark. There are couple of ferry back in the afternoon. Our out of season advice would be take food and enjoy drinking at the bar. See more..
