We were looking to buy a villa in the Murcia / Almeria area. Spent days and days searching and looking for properties all over the place. We booked to stay at the Hotel on the Mar menor resort and used it as a base. Well, what a find. Absolutely loved the place. We travelled a fair distance looking at villas, but always kept coming back to the resort thinking 'this is where we want to be'. Nowhere came in close, and bought a villa on the resort. You can use the facilities in the hotel, bars restaurant are great. The resort is always being kept clean and tidy. The boulevard is just outside the resort gates and so easy to access with bars and restaurants of different varieties, also new ones popping up. The spar shop is handy and just across from there are the padel courts. There is always something going on , on the resort and has a great community feel to it. I can't comment on the golf side as I don't play but all in all, im so pleased that we bought on the resort.See more..
Played here September 16th. Absolutely loved it. Top condition, super fast greens in peak condition. 7th hole, island green , great challenge. Only thing that let's it down is near 5 hours foe a round . Held up on every hole 16 people in society wouldn't let anyone through. And walking the course. Get a buggy. Like we did. See more..

I visited this resort in the midst of lockdown in July and October 2022. Apart from a little bar by the lake and the Acacia restaurant, there was very little life socially. What a change. The last weekend has seen Rugby Internationals and a spellbinding Open Championship and all those events were delivered to an appreciative audience in a recently opened O’Learys Bar. A young staff eager to learn and management eager to please Diners, drinkers and Sports fans. Great to see along with the other bars and restaurants on sites enjoying good trade.See more..

We visited the club house in January when it was deadly quiet. The sun was shining as we enjoyed a glass of Cava & shared a very tasty burger. Only 2 other tables were filled when we visited at lunchtime. The clubhouse is beautiful, the views are stunning & the prices reasonable. A nice alternative venue for those staying in the hotel for lunch. It was closed at night for dinner in January.See more..
Go play Alhama. As good a layout as you’ll find anywhere. Designed to hold the Spanish Open and as so many was struck by the financial crisis. Tee boxes, greens and bunkers in excellent condition, fairways are generally poor but don’t let that stop you. Each hole brings its own character and challenge with wonderful views and backdrops. I have recently returned from Murica, whilst away I played many golf courses in the area, some to be considered the best in the area. In my opinion Golf Altorreal is also in that category, the course was truly amazing, in great condition. Very tight in places and a great challenge of golf. Some of the views on this golf course were breathtaking. The staff at golf Altorreal were lovely and very helpful especially the staff in the golf shop and the gentleman who sorted our buggy...in my opinion the best hospitality experience I had all week! Every resort in Spain has had it's problems and Peraleja is no different but this is one which is on the up. There is a buzz about the place now with new properties being built, additional plots being sold off and La Vista restaurant opening. The golf course has its problems and needs a little work in some areas but remains one of the best layouts and challenging courses around and you can play it at reasonable rates. The clubhouse is stunning with amazing views out to the Mar Menor and surrounding areas. We met some lovely people there and there is a lovely town Sucina close by. The beach is only 10 mins drive as is San Javier airport and the lively resort at Los Alcazares around 15 mins. Definitely worth a visit.See more..
This is our second visit to this quirky little course. Myself and my husband played a four ball with friends. The rates a very reasonably and it’s really worth a visit. It’s great for practicing your short game. The first 9 holes have shorter tee boxes, and then you play the same 9 holes with tees further back. You could carry a small weekend bag with a few clubs. We took our normal bags and trolleys. Golf attire is required. Take enough balls as there is water that can suck them up if you get your direction slightly wrong. It can be a bit confusing when you start on the first as the holes cross each other, but after that initial confusion the holes are spread out. The restaurant is lovely and they have a menu del dia. It’s a lovely quirky find slap bang in the middle of a town.See more..
