Saurines de La Torre Golf, Region of Murcia, Spain

4.0 (73 reviews) Spent Ranking #1 in Torre-Pacheco Golf Courses

Great Golf

Great Desert Style Golf Course in excellent condition. Very interesting large sloping greens so approach shot accuracy is paramount. Good value clubhouse with excellent service. The resort has excellent potential and hopefully will see further development of the facilities and amenities.

    Excellent course set up
Our first visit to Saurines de la Torre, despite visiting the Murcia region for more than 20 years. Don't be put off by the exterior of the resort (evidence of the planned development not growing as planned originally). Tee resevation was completed on-line for a competitive rate. Check-in was smooth with the receptionist speaking excellent English. The course layout has been changed from the original plan. The 5th hole is now the 1st. Course was in good condition, greens are very tricky as you would expect from a Nicklaus design and the bunkers and water features are visually very attractive. The range of tees provide for an enjoyable round for most competent golfers (higher handicap golfers may find it tough). Overall very satisfied with our experience.

    Room for improvement
The golf course itself was a fun challenge and in good condition, but the experience was tarnished due to two primary factors: - The holes appear to have been renumbered but the data has not yet been synchronised with Garmin. No information about this was given in the pro shop, and not until a player on an adjacent hole explained did we discover that the second hole was he 6th according to our watches. - Signs around the course directing players to the next hole are either not in place or all too discreetly placed. Finding our way around was not always easy. A final comment, three of us, with a buggy, paid 225€, and yet no form of course guide was included. A basic printed guide cost 10€, which we felt was rather poor service.
