Mirador del Cabezo del Gavilan image
It is a gentle slope then steps with hand rails to a fantastic viewpoints at the top. It's very safe and as long as children are supervised a treat for all the family. We have visited and ascended both bridges over the rocky outcrop from the beach in every season and times of day and evening. And we are always impressed with the views .well worth the small amount of effort it takes to leave the beach chair and walk. Nearby is an excellent restraunt called l' Calderón that serves excellent food and is busy throughout the year as is the nearby cafe. Try the Asiatico alcohol coffee drink here it's local to the area and fabulous. See more..

...for the gentry that means. As it was usual in Spain, during festivals the gentry occupied the balconies of the main square or "plaza mayor" though in many cases somebody else was the owner of the flat the balcony belonged to. In the case of the "soportales", most likely due to the given topography, there is no actual house they would belong to, they have only been built for the single purpose offering loges to the square being the stage. Torre de Santa Isabel image
Just off the main shopping area of Ave Dr Meca there is a narrow little park leading up to Hotel La Cumbre and in the middle of this narrow park is the Torre de Santa Isabel. Torre de Santa Isabel is a watchtower high on a hill built to keep watch for Barbary Pirates as part of a coastal surveillance system built in the 16th century in the reign of Philip II. It is worth a quick detour to admire the views. See more..

When you see La Picota you just think that it is column, but actually, that was the place where prisoners were exhibited after being tortured during 16th century. On 1813, all the "picotas" of Spain were forbidden, but the one in Aledo is the only one which remains. See more..

Me parece una excelente iniciativa poner este tipo de Miradores para que los turistas que vienen a San Pedro del Pinatar y los propios vecinos del pueblo, puedan acercarse a este lugar para poder observar de cerca las aves que hay en este precioso Parque Regional.
