Beautiful , friendly resort

We were looking to buy a villa in the Murcia / Almeria area. Spent days and days searching and looking for properties all over the place. We booked to stay at the Hotel on the Mar menor resort and used it as a base. Well, what a find. Absolutely loved the place. We travelled a fair distance looking at villas, but always kept coming back to the resort thinking 'this is where we want to be'. Nowhere came in close, and bought a villa on the resort. You can use the facilities in the hotel, bars restaurant are great. The resort is always being kept clean and tidy. The boulevard is just outside the resort gates and so easy to access with bars and restaurants of different varieties, also new ones popping up. The spar shop is handy and just across from there are the padel courts. There is always something going on , on the resort and has a great community feel to it. I can't comment on the golf side as I don't play but all in all, im so pleased that we bought on the resort.

    Disappointing
    This was our second time to the resort. Great time had as usual. However we come to play golf as well. We managed to play twice on the course no problem. When it came to playing our 3rd and final round we were told we had to show our handicap certificates. We didn’t have these and were not allowed to play!! This is ridiculous considering the amount of players that go past our villa who don’t even know how to hold a club correctly let alone hit the ball...this put a real dampener on the holiday especially considering we had already played twice!!

    Generally unkempt and overpriced
    Overpriced, over played. Not great, weeds in fairways, growing in and around bunkers No sand in bunkers. Place is just generally unkempt and under maintained. It’s high season and most of the gents tees are GUR??. Won’t be playing here again
