    Many historic buildings and a wonderful theatre, all of which add character to this small town which is now home. The back streets with cobbled roads, and old Tudor style houses which are really quite quaint especially in the summer when the flower boxes are in bloom...Detmold has seen many changes over the past twenty years, what used to be a very green town is now quite bare as the Stadt decided to remove all the trees from the padestrain zones and the central market place leaving everything naked. The town no longer has the choice of shops it used to have, if you need a chemist, glasses, hearing aids or a mobile phone the selection is good...as much as I love Detmold, Lemgo is the better choice... Expensive parking...traffic wardens everywhere issuing parking tickets when you are 30 seconds late getting back to your car! See more..

    Da leider immer mehr Geschäfte schließen, ist die Altstadt nicht schön zum einkaufen. Es gibt viele Restaurants und einige Pubs, die ich aber noch nicht alle besucht habe. Allein schon die historischen Häusern mit ihrem Fachwerk ist sehr interessant. Sehr schön ist auch der zu Weihnachten beleuchtete Kirchturm. See more..
