Everyone knows about salt. However, it is astonishing to find so many things which are not so well known about this everyday spice. Westfalian Salt Experience sheds a light on salt as a multifaceted natural remedy and discovers many a few unknown aspects about it. Visitors are invited to find out about the origins of salt and brine, have a look at the crystalline structure of various types of salt and learn about the history of the salt industry along the ancient Hellweg trade route. You may alter your perception about your nutrition when you see how much salt is concealed in various foods and also, why our body would not work without salt. Test why having a bath in brinde or peat mud helps your health and experience the exhibtion with all your senses - it is access free! See more..
  5. 4.5 Energeticon (19 reviews)
    - Enjoyable experience!
Spent 2-3 hours Science Museums • Children's Museums
    Energeticon image
The area of the exhibition site doesn't seem too large at first, but this is deceptive because you can't see the underground parts of the signposted tour from the outside, of course. A trip to the Energeticon is definitely worthwhile and you can easily spend 2-3 hours there if you look at the detailed explanations that are placed next to the exhibits. Particularly noteworthy are the many small exhibition experiments that you can actively perform. This is especially pleasing for families with children. We were only a little disappointed that the restaurant Eduard, located in the entrance building, is closed on Tuesdays. There are no alternatives offered. There is free parking on the premises, and there is even some covered parking. See more..
