Very beautiful view in more directions. There aren’t many remains of the “burg”, but it’s a wonderful quiet place with a memorial for fallen soldiers and civilians at one part of the small park. See more..

We visited the monastery as part of a day-trip from Bodenwerder and realised about half way to Höxter that we had forgotten our lunch sandwiches in the fridge... which was frustrating since my hubby makes the best sandwiches ever! Upon our arrival, much to our astonishment, we were greeted by his excellency Bishop Anba Damian who invited us to have lunch, which was plentiful and very delicious! Just as well we left the sandwiches behind... We were guided for free though their biblical / Egyptian museum and there is also a small religious shop. If you feel inclined to do so, there is a box for donations in the dining hall. We felt truly blessed visiting this monastery and meeting Bishop Anba Damian. See more..

Beautiful dominating landmark in Monschau - Burg Monschau - serves nowadays as a youth hostel and a concert venue. There was a castle here since at least 13th century. In 19th century it became a private property. Anyone who followed the eccentric art of recently deceased artist Christo may recall that as a form of artistic statement and self-expression in 1971 he wrapped up and envailed this castle. The attraction is located near the railway station of Bergisch Gladbach. It’s not worth a travel but if you pass by on a tour it’s worth a look. The old lime kiln document a not so known part of the city. There is an information panel near it. You can have a look from outside into the kilns but there is no illustration what you see. ...verweilen und zum Spazieren gehen. Alter Wallfahrtsort auf Hügel mit tollem Ausblick und Picknick Plätzen. Auch der Jakobsweg geht hier vorbei. Weitere Wanderwege, zum Beispiel die Eifelschleife „Ville und Eifel“ startet hier. Unterhalb gibt es das Restaurant Pfefferschote mit Biergarten. See more..

Auf diesem Ort haben die uhralte Römer einmal bewohnt. Von ihren Gebäuden blieb das Fundament, auf dem die VHS-Schule errichtet wurde. Dieses Fundament kann man sowohl außerhalb der Schule, als auch innerhalb dem Gebäude zu beobachten. In der Nähe der Schule befindet sich ein kleines Denkmal, das uns zeigt, was die Römer gebaut haben. Vor dem Haupteingang können Sie ein Plan eines Gebäudeteils und ein Informationsstand zu sehen. Es gibt auch ein kleines Museum unter der Schule. Ich empfehle alle interessierten, das Romaneum zu besuchen! See more..
