My friend and I recently took the tour. I was completely familiar with the history of the murders and the house, so the tour guide couldn't tell me much more? Fortunately, we were the only 2 people on the tour that day! We were able to just sit in the living room after the tour guide left us to tour the house by ourselves. Unfortunately nothing happened spirit wise? I took quite a few pictures inside and outside of the house, but they got somehow deleted off of my memory card in my camera! I will definately take the tour again some day!See more..

Halloween was a great time to tour Edinburgh Manor. Our guide Cindy shared a lot of history from this Iowa “Poor Farm”. It was so sad to hear some of the stories of people who lived here not that long ago. The tour started at 6 pm which meant we were soon walking the halls in the dark. The leftover belongings from residents, peeling paint, and scary stories combined for a very eerie experience.See more..
The Malvern Manor is an old hotel that was opened in the 1800s to help with the railroad visitors. It eventually was sold and turned into a private residence and than became a nursing home/group home for the mentally disabled. It was shut down in 2005 and everything was left behind when it was shut down. The current owners when they walked in it was pretty much the way it was when they shut down. The beds, wheelchairs, even charts were left behind. It is a huge building with many areas to investigate. Paranormal Dares held a Halloween event and investigation of the manor, we focused on the back hallway, 2nd floor and the main room room where residents were set to look out the windows. I had many personal experiences in the nursing home back hallway, we caught some amazing evidence using a SLS Camera. If you are interested in history, the paranormal I highly recommend touring Malvern Manor or joining a group such as Paranormal Dares to investigate the manor!!See more..
a friend and I attended an all night sleepover event hosted by Ghost Hunts USA. we got to meet the caretakers. had a lot of experiences. there is indoor plumbing downstairs. this historical location is in good condition, and in good hands.See more..

We were on the Great Mississippi River Road on motorcycles. Nice riding in the area. However the parking lot is really broken up and a bit treacherous for bikes. We got the job done but it could be much better. We arrived after closing so the bathrooms were not open, bummer. But the mounds are right there, no hiking needed. And the signage was good. Right in front of the Mounds is a local memorial to the LIttleton family who lost 6 sons, brothers, in the Civil War. We really enjoyed this as well.See more..
