We reserved two consecutive 45 minute rides on the horsedrawn wagons. The equestrian driving the horses spoke at the beginning of the ride, introducing us to our team. Deer were pointed out at one point in the journey but I’m wondering if there could be a way to have other points of interest also highlighted. The ride was very pleasant and I think given the fact that we ranged in age from 3 to 73 most would agree. However I was thinking there might be a way to actually enrich it through incorporating education about the nature that we were riding through. Just a thought. I would give gold stars to the Jester Park Equestrion staff. Those who helped arrange this worked very hard to do so, the people there on Sundays were welcoming, courteous and beautifully thoughtful. 3. 5.0 Cedar Valley Stables (2 reviews)

My daughter and I enjoyed an hour-long trail ride at Cedar Valley Stables that far surpassed expectations. The most important thing to note is that their horses are well-cared for older horses who know what they are doing and are appropriate even for relative novices; the guides are kind, down-to-earth horse lovers who can make friendly conversation but are happy to allow you to enjoy your ride and surroundings in peace; and the trails are extensive and quite beautiful. The price was very reasonable by the standards of trail rides I'm used to elsewhere, and the mission of this stable--to give horses who might have nowhere else to go a place to live out their lives and earn their room and board while surrounded by kind and caring people--is one I admire. Views of bald eagles over the cedar river is an added bonus. My daughter loved her horse and everything else about this place and didn't want to leave. Highly recommended! See more..
  4. 5.0 River Valley Horse Camp (2 reviews)
    - Wonderful horse camp!
Spent More than 3 hours Horseback Riding Tours
Camped with a group over a recent weekend. The stalls for the horses were huge! We had a campsite right across from the stalls, not sure I'd like it as much if my horse was out of my sight. The owners are very accommodating, and are horse folks themselves. The lodge and bathrooms are beautiful, best I've ever seen in a campground. River Valley never closes their trails and they can get to be kind of muddy. On a busy weekend, it can get pretty crowded in the campground, as they will double up on the campsites. We had a wonderful weekend and will definitely go back again! See more..
