    We had a great guided tour of the Fort which included a firing of the guns. These included a small howitzer and a six pound cannonball gun. Also gigantic shot guns for short range. A lot of fire power and smoke. Wow it must have been acrid there during fighting. This is a 1812 War era fort and is on the National Park Service list of Historic Places. They have several annual events during the summer. Hours of Operation are 9 AM to 5PM June through mid September, Wednesday through Sunday. Additional days in May and the remainder of September, October. All are subject to weather and Mississippi River Conditions. Admission: Adults $8, Military $7, Children 6-16 $3.50 Great gift shop.
