   This is the first time we have popped into Quicksilver and had the shop full of other shoppers. I’m happy to see other people enjoying the place, but it made it harder to look at everything. All the same, we perused the jewelry cases and found a bin with some beautiful pen drawings. Downstairs was full of more artwork and garden art. I really wanted to by another bird picture for my parents, but my mother forbade me from getting another one. My mom bought one little item and we had a nice chat with the lady at the register.    I was in the Memphis area so decided to drive the 45 minutes up to Dyess. There is plenty of parking in the old town square area where the visitors center is located. There you purchase tickets and/or gifts, watch a short film, get some information, and are taken over to the administrative building next door for some more information about the era, flooding, the project that created the area, and some about Johnny's high school. With Covid they aren't doing a shuttle presently, so I was given directions to the house. The boats are nice and new as well. We enjoyed our ride around Table Rock Lake for the half day. We rented the Aloha Pontoon boat. They also allow dogs for an extra $25.    The online booking, easy check in to our cabin, the selection at the outdoor center and the level of service throughout the experience makes BOC a must use to experience the Buffalo River. We launched on a rainy day, no problem. They gave us all the information we needed to undertake this raw, wild experience including a map, verbal advice and cues to look out for. We ended up needing to come off the river a day earlier than arranged due to a terrible storm. I called the office when they opened and again, they walked me through the forecast for the weather and the river. They drove our car to us before the storm hit and hit us safely out of there. Our docent was extremely knowledgeable, passionate about the site and town, and made the visit exceedingly warming. The house is loaded with original family artifacts. The focus is on the Pfifer family, who owned the house, but did throw in pieces of Ernest's time there during his marriage to their daughter. Susan was informative about the artists and was able to answer all of our questions. I fell in love with the work of Craig Davinson (even shedding a tear over his "With Liberty & Justice For All" piece). Zarks is the only gallery in the US to sell his work.     We had three couples float last weekend. The owner was great to work with. He was very good at communicating the conditions of the water due to recent rain and had safety first in all aspects. We chose to float and had plenty of room. It was a gorgeous float with plenty of places to stop for a swim, explore, relax, etc. They have plenty of bathrooms that you can change when you arrive to Silver Hills. At the end of the float you park your car and there is changing facilities there as well. Jason dropped us off and did a fantastic job of getting the raft ready for us and explain. He also was ready for us when we were finished which was incredible since there is no way to know how long each group would take. We would definitely recommend this float and go with Silver Hill!     Helen was so very helpful and nice when we called to ask questions and booked our trail ride. She also gave recommendations for other things on the mountain. Rochelle was just amazing. She was so patient and kind. We ran late for our ride but she understood and accommodated us professionally.     Shelly and her son Gregory went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience. Most of us had never ziplined before and they were so patient and safety conscious with us. Shelly allowed us to move our time from Saturday to Sunday because it was pouring down raining on Saturday and she wanted us to enjoy our first zip line experience. If your like me and you was a 10 year old kid in the 90s always going to the malls, bowling alleys, and movie theaters just to play the video games, then those games are here. I felt like I jumped in a time machine and it was 1994 again. Seriously no joke, it's the real deal. I'm glad there is someone out there who is as passionate about gaming as myself.     On a recent trip my wife and I took to Arkansas, we stopped to visit some friends we hadn't seen in many years. After they treated us to lunch, the friends insisted that we had to see a local library, which turned out to be the Donald Reynolds Library. The library was built with a $9.8 million grant from the Donald W. Reynolds Foundation. To say that we were impressed with the facility would be an incredible understatement. As just one of the many features, there's artwork set in the floor, a pathway of paving stones that stretches from one end of the library to the other. It turned out that our friend's sister and husband did the pathway. On a lower level of the library, there's a children's area, complete with life-sized statues. Obviously, my wife and I were just passing through the area and reconnecting with old friends. I could see us spending a lot of quality time in the library if we lived around Mountain Home. We have played almost every room they have in both their Russellville and their Searcy locations. We look for every excuse to drive down to Russellville to play here (3 hours from home). Staff is always very friendly and professional and we feel like they enjoy their rooms and care about whether you enjoy the rooms and had a good time too. Puzzles are just the right level of difficulty and things like phone calls and recordings make it really interactive.     This outstanding Veteran's Wall is located literally 60 seconds off of Highway 71 and WELL worth your time. Worthy of being in Washington DC it's at least the equal of the Korean and Vietnam Memorials there. It's free and open 24 hours a day. The lighting after dark makes it maybe even more impressive.
