4.0Popeye Statue(30 reviews) - I'm strong to the finish Spent < 1 hour Monuments & Statues
If you're going through Alma, AR, or close-by, seeing Popeye and his spinach can is worth a stop. We were staying at Fort Lake Smith State Park and took a drive specifically to see Popeye's Garden. Pretty and scenic little park but the highlight was the large bronze statute of Popeye himself, with his can of spinach, of course. We didn't know at the time that Alma is known for spinach and hosts a spinach festival every year. Popeye is the perfect mascot for this town.See more..
5.0Veterans Wall of Honor(22 reviews) - An Absolute must visit Tuesday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Monuments & Statues
This outstanding Veteran's Wall is located literally 60 seconds off of Highway 71 and WELL worth your time. Worthy of being in Washington DC it's at least the equal of the Korean and Vietnam Memorials there. It's free and open 24 hours a day. The lighting after dark makes it maybe even more impressive. Don't pass through NW Arkansas without a visit to this important Memorial to our soldiers. See more..
I wish this had been here when Faubus as governor, so he could look out his office window and see it everyday. These kids deserve to be honored for the sacrifices and risks they took to advance equal rights.See more..
4.5Mount Sequoyah(12 reviews) - As much as I'd like to keep this place a secret.... Spent < 1 hour Lookouts • Monuments & Statues
We have stayed at many different places in Fayetteville, but Mount Sequoyah is our favorite. It is not fancy, but it is clean and friendly and very hospitable. It is a mile from Dickson Street and 2 miles to the center of campus. With a variety of accommodation styles, you are sure to find one that suits you. Some of the rooms are more dated than others, but they are all clean and comfortable. The staff is extremely accommodating. If you're so inclined, you might consider attending the Easter service held at the outdoor chapel. Lovely setting.See more..
This park has a nice walking path and views/access to the river. There are several historical markers to describe the battle. The only drawback (and you cannot fault the park for this) was a person metal detecting in the park was creepy. Otherwise, I would enjoy visiting this park again.See more..

4.5B-17 Memorial Park(6 reviews) - You definitely should go here. Definitely a bittersweet presence here Spent 1-2 hours Historic Sites • Points of Interest & Landmarks • Monuments & Statues
A must see Memorial Park Don't forget to sign the book as you enter. I grew up down South Sardis road and even hunted in the woods just up from where this Memorial Park is and I had no clue it was even here till now. This is such a beautiful place honoring those 9 who lost their lives here.See more..
This museum and park memorializes the contributions of miners in the local coal industry. The memorial combines artifacts, structures and memorials to tell the story of how coal impacted Logan County. The small museum and house are only open on the weekend, but the grounds and memorial statue is able to be walked around anytime. The miners house is one of the best examples of how people lived I have seen set up anywhere. It's well worth the stop just to look a the wayside exhibits and see the old equipment.See more..
5.0Veterans Memorial Park(1 review) - Well done new memorial to Arkansas Veterans Spent < 1 hour Monuments & Statues I was traveling through Rector, AR on my way north on US 49 and I happened to see the new Veterans Memorial Park as you enter downtown Rector. The park features a statue of an Arkansas Soldier, and the names of the fallen are on a wall behind the statue. The park is very well done, with paved walkways and garden areas. Just to the north of the park is the restored City Jail, which now houses the Chamber of Commerce. I visited both. The man inside the Chamber building was very friendly and helpful. The city of Rector did an excellent job restoring the old jail since it seems like new inside. A restroom was also available for travelers. I'm glad I stopped to visit, and I left Rector with a very favorable opinion of the small town in the Northeast corner of Arkansas.See more..
3.0Paragould War Memorial(1 review) - Petite Statue of Liberty Spent < 1 hour Points of Interest & Landmarks • Monuments & Statues
This 7-foot tall Statue of Liberty is part of a war memorial honoring 40 local men killed in World War I. It is located in a city park and backed by an interesting historical building. It was dedicated in 1924 and is the oldest American Statue of Liberty other than the one in New York. It is surrounded by other war memorials. It is an interesting place for a quick stop if you are traveling through this area.See more..
